All of Jerry's examples of the enemy's devices (starting @ 2:11) were external to the individual. However, the most widespread, deceptive, & insidious method is when the impostor suggests things to you using your own thoughts, even using "I" so that you will identify with a thought as your own.
Indeed, if-by renewing your mind, casting down strongholds, and controlling your tongue-you take full dominion over your own thoughts, it will be much simpler to recognize the external hand of the enemy.

This is a very jewish perspecctive, that he's in God's employ. It's untrue though, the new testament clears it up. If you only have the old testament, you wouldn't know, he actually seems to be following God's instructions, but actually he's just getting permission.
