Despair and (the resulting, sort of pleasurable feeling of) Violence, and the possible conflict of a Hope that is brought about by that Violence. Something self-righteous, but on some level, you find yourself empathizing with. The concept was musically conveyed as a fusion of bass music similar to trap and drum & bass, that doesn't try to hide the distortion and twistedness present in this state of mind. The starting point was an orthodox jazz fusion idea, and the arrangement contains a smoothness with piano, electric piano, and jazz bass. However, when the electronic beats supporting the tempo and the string section from the double quartet comes in, there is a hybrid quality to it, that interestingly merged very well into the context of a J-anime song. LIO's super solid vocals were a perfect match to the chorus that comes running in all at once. In addition, Masato Honda's saxophone brought a sudden sense of luxury to the piece. The intertwining of the parallel m9 chord and bass before the interlude was my favorite.

The composition was truly a masterpiece. This was the only reason why I finished the anime. It sounds so incredibly grand as if something truly great, awaits the listener and it fully delivers when the chorus comes. The bridge where the saxophone solo goes creates a sense of full-on action atmosphere, as if the Hope is actually winning. I love this song.
I hope they come back for Arifureta S2 too because this OP is one of the only two things that is worthy enough to be praised in the S1 with the other being the story
Arguably one of the greatest Anime OPs in recent years, I always wondered where the first 35 seconds was in the previous versions that had been uploaded to YT given it's presence in Episode 12 "A Looming Shadow", and now, I have it, and my goodness it is freaking FANTASTIC to hear it.

This song is really motivational if you understand the lyrics, It's like the song you can enjoy and understand at the same time. It's like you're in a middle of your own battlefield having a hard time but on fire to overcome any ordeals.
After you discard all the cringe harem hijinks arifureta is just two lovers who want a better life for themselves and grow stronger together to achieve that goal.
