Great video! I have a Bobcat 329 that is flashing a battery light as if it’s getting too high of voltage, but it’s not. Is this something you’ve addressed before? Can you point me to what components may need to be looked at on the controller to repair it? Hoping I can tackle this on my own. Thanks!
I can't say that's something we have had to fix in the past. I wouldn't know where to have you begin, most likely would need to take a look at it myself under the microscope.
Pin out is positive to the first 2 pins on the top and bottom row furthest left of connector J1 the second top and bottom pins are negative, and then J4 top left pin is positive. You want 12v in at about 0.5 amps on your power supply. This will turn on the unit and let you do some of the basic troubleshooting. At least make sure it turns on, read codes, make sure the gauges are working, ligths are good see what codes it's throwing and so on.
hey Nick - i have bobcat controller like the video here - its part 6678684 - seems like its not sending power out, so that it will start - buttons just flash lights when you press them how long is turn around time to ontario, canada ? how do you test that what you have done is 100% ?? do you have something you hook it up to after ? i can call your shop, but just wanted to send this initial question in - thank you !
Hello, While we don't have a full unit to plug this into for testing purposes, we do perform some bench testing. I can't promise you that we are 100% not all units we receive are fixable, but we are able to fix most units we receive. Often when encountering a dead unit with no power out like yours, the main CPU is either shorted, failed open, or has some sort of corruption and needs to be replaced. This is a repair we have performed several times in the past and can perform for you as well. Just a quick heads up, we have been getting a surge in repairs recently. We are doing our best to get through all repairs as fast as possible, but given the volume we of parts we have received, we may have some small delays with repairs. We are also down a tech due to vacation for the next couple weeks. If you were to send in your unit now and we received it tomorrow, we would be looking at about 1 week for the repairs to be completed, possibly 7 business days based on our current work load. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
We are going to be doing a follow up video shortly showing the repairs of the buttons as well as we have been seeing a lot of issues with the ribbon connecting the buttons to the PCB fail and needing to be replaced/repaired.

What is the pinout you use for bench testing? And what voltage do you use?

Can you repair the hour/code display? Only parts of the numbers show up.
At this time no because we haven't found a good supplier of replacement screens. Usually that's the screen itself going bad and needs to be replaced.
Have you found a supplier for the screen yet?
