David Bohm very lucidly describes the manifesting process of a thought, the ego idea, assuming ans ascertaining a reality by deducing from the beliefs and actions of all towards the ego being a fact - apart from us constructing it. People shy away from abolishing the ego as a mere construction because they see in reality the daily real outcomes. That doesn't make it a natural reality. The second hindrance to seeing through the "survival instinct taken too far " is that we fail to see how it came about. That makes it seem like a timeless reality. There are a number of explanations why thought made the human believe he is a separate entity beyond being an individual expression of life, nothing more nothing less.
Our own thoughts create an illusion that we think is real and correct. We form beliefs from our ego based upon our own perceptions. So what is real? If facts are just people’s own personal opinions for the most part… then we have created an illusion of reality… and we call that illusion real. but our own thoughts created the illusion. our ego tells us that we are correct… but we are so wrong… and our beliefs hide that fact from us. The fact that consciousness creates the nature of our own reality. perception is everything and we only see 3% of the light spectrum. we only hear 3% of sound. and we believe that we can touch everything but in reality nothing ever touches anything. So… our own thoughts deceive us and we live a false sense of reality. How do we break free from our egotistical beliefs and open our minds to the infinite possibilities of the universe? Let go of your ego and your beliefs… then the mind opens up to the possibility of truth. The truth that it’s not one color… we only see red… but the thing is all colors and all shapes and all sounds… you see? We only saw red… but it’s only what we can see from 3% of the light spectrum. And for thousands of years we believed that it was only red… but it was every color… so our thought brought us to a place where we must learn that we thought we were right when in fact we were so wrong. and then the ego begins to fade away. and what is true and real becomes more clear.
K, at the beginning of this excerpt for the word “consciousness”, was likely referring to the emptying of the “false mind created ego”, source of self wants/needs, the source of neurosis, the division that leads to conflict, emptying of ‘psychological reality’. K, then, refers to the original one true “consciousness”. One word used, when two would have clarified his position. K’s intent was to illicit self inquiry, which is where the discussion went. Words, images, semantics, divisions, differing views, conflict, self inquiry, group inquiry, all part of a proper conversation.

Thank you for posting yet another gem. I heard that our ego-self has created its own (and therefore, collective) reality, thereby covering over our sensitivity to Universal reality. Can order and then stillness, redress the balance? I see that it can. We can walk on the blade of a sword.
The words mean what i say not what you say though they may be similar. Everything you say is said through my brain and i read the inflection of the voice, observe body language of self and other and use memory as we converse thinking we hear the other when in reality you and i can only hear what is s interpreted through thought noticing sensations and putting the memory of the sensation in the files. Unless one is s in a state of true compassion. There it is finished
