  • "I was given the luxury of learning how to think and how to create, I had a responsibility to the world."

Today, I want to share with you some profound lessons from my journey-lessons about creativity, generosity, and the transformative power of wealth when channeled correctly.
My life has been a testament to the belief that each of us is born with incredible creative potential. This potential isn't just about making art; it's about crafting a life of impact and purpose. For me, overcoming fear and self-doubt was part of realizing this potential. I want to teach you that these aren't just personal battles; they're gateways to greater self-discovery and expression.
One of the most transformative realizations in my life came when I understood the economics of human existence. Working with the urban poor, my wife, Kim, and I embraced a life of simplicity. We once chose to sleep on the floor-not out of necessity, but as a commitment to live within our means and focus on what truly matters. This period taught us the value of generosity and living fully, regardless of one's financial status.
However, my perspective on wealth changed significantly over time. I moved from seeing poverty as a virtue to understanding that wealth could be a powerful tool for good. This shift was marked by a moment of epiphany, supported incredibly by Kim’s belief in my potential. It wasn’t just about earning; it was about learning to use wealth to create opportunities for others and make a lasting impact.
Creating wealth should not be an end in itself. The true goal is to see how much good can be done through our efforts. How many lives can we positively impact? How can we use our resources to help more people find not just homes but hope?
Let's embrace our creative potential and use it not just to change our lives but to change the world. This is the heart of my message, and this is what I believe we are all called to do.

I love the "responsibility" aspect, even though it's been in plain sight all along with the parables of the talents and the minas! My struggle has been, what is "acceptable" for me to "desire" to provide for my family, or for me to "desire" for myself...even though we can only create wealth by solving the challenges and needs of others...

Every time I hear you talk or read one of your books I am reminded again that we are wired so similarly. I have struggled so much of my life finding people to speak into it who understood how the Lord made me to think. You are one of the rare people that do. And this short segment, is just what I needed to hear today. I am at a heart a serial entrepreneur, but have a very unhealthy relationship with wealth as well and constantly self sabotage or refuse to put price tags on things I create.

I know I called myself a serial entrepreneur, but really I’ve just been a serial brand catalyst that never really tried to make money with any of my ideas. Now I am motivated by the cry of my wife who is afraid that we won’t be taken care of financially as I, look to make moves to actually start my first business. I’m moving slow and planning well, but this encourages me to grow in my relationship with wealth as my heart is only to do good

This book changed my life, btw.
And the result of this change was the change of many many other lives. In Brazil. In another country.
    That’s Butterfly Effect.
