Hi there Bernie Worsley here, the founder member of this original Heavy Rain album, it’s really amazing after all this time to think that the music that Geoff Oggy and myself ( drums) made would be so appreciated,a shame that Geoff isn’t with us any more, he was an amazing guitarist, I was blown away when I first saw him playing in a band called Sky.I approached him with the idea to form a band with me and so it went,I suggested the name Heavy Rain and that was the start of some great times and lots of original songs, happy days and thanks again for the amazing reviews everyone.
@user-wc6qh9xg6p Hi I'm Jacopo, the owner of Progressive Rock Journal Webzine. I've published the news aboput the Guerssen release and re-release of the album, I like your sound and if you're available we can do a written interview. Let me know. All the best, Jacopo
Loved this band. Ive been looking for them on UA-cam for years. Saw them in Blackpool. I remember the lead guitarist playing his guitar with a screwdriver and thought it was soooooooo cool! You've made a 69 year old feel young again.
He was still doing that up until he passed away, also used a tile cutter too :). We played as a trio from 2002 until 2021, Geoff was the founder and only original member left in the lineup
This is my dad Geoff carter's band. We still have his original custom marshall stack with heavy rain on them & his Gibson SG he used on all these tracks
My dad Geoff passed away in 2021 he was in his early 70's Unfortunately never really did much for many years. Although he still had his guitar set up at home and had a jam many times with him
I like the wild abandon of this rough diamond of a band. Hardly anything is known of them part from their ages and addresses in the early 1970s 😀 Geoff Carter, Ibbison Street Blackpool, age 25, Guitar Bernie Worsley: Laurel Avenue Morton, age 22, Drums Graham "Oggy" Hargreaves, Hornby Road Blackpool, age 23, Bass At one stage Ray Jones was vocalist
Yes, a Stone-Bunnyish UFOish Floyd-Hawkwind cable (with unknown song titles) that's probably from before 73 is kinda from when I close my damn eyes and theorize
This tips the scales on the heavy sounds of the 70's. Bloodrock was another outside sound. 70's set the stage for the next 50 years, that 1965 - 75 was such a robust music revolution.
So beautifully filthy ! And supposedly coming out this coming year ? The label mentioned, Guersson Records, was responsible for the last cd reissue of both Wicked Lady albums, so it should be well done. I can’t wait !
Fan of dirty recordings, man after me own strawberry-tart. Can't get enough of the blind energy, and the fact that it's a favorite time period, THEN that these numbers kick ass
if you ever going to start your own label I will send you my bands beggin to sub us! Great stuff as always, sometimes I am looking for an inspiration on your channel
Hello! could you tell me under what name the album was released and how to find LP or CD on eBay or other stores ? if you can give a link thank you very much

were so proud to work on this release
COMO SIEMPRE, MATERIAL INTERESANTE Y RARO.
This is some killer tunes. I think I'm the only one here right now in the United States of America getting his mind blown sky high by this band 🤯

RIP Geoff Carter (2021)

Is there anymore info about the band? I dig the second track the most
My dad Geoff passed away in 2021 he was in his early 70's Unfortunately never really did much for many years. Although he still had his guitar set up at home and had a jam many times with him
Is there any way to see some photos of his gear? That would be awesome!!!
Warning: This album may tear your balls off! Can't wait until Guerssen releases it, I will buy it for sure.

Geoff Carter is my dad. Unfortunately, he passed away September 2022 😞 he always loved played his guitar. I have his Gibson sg that was used on these
Another great great lost and found gem.
Sounds like Iron Claw meets early UFO to me. Good stuff.
Wow. Wasn't expecting the part that could be mistaken for "Set The Controls To The Heart Of The Sun" near the end of track . Great.
Yes. It sounds almost the same. Which song came first?
@@chrisp2235 Although it doesn’t specify which year in the 70’s, the Floyd track came out in ‘68
They used to cover Set The Controls along with 21st Century Schizoid Man. See here for their repertoire: ua-cam.com/video/oMwVOWnegJ0/v-deo.html
Bravo Roberts ....Near old Floyd :)
OMG! Need more bands to play music like this! Thanks for posting this 70'sheavyrockfan.
This sounds like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. I love it!
All kinds of stuff happening here. Everything I dig in one listen, even some great harmonica work by dude. Hits the spot man.
"It rarely rains in dreams.
We hit all time lows and
very high estates, but rain -
no, it rarely does in dreams." - Robert Hunter🌹💀🤘❤⚡💙
Well that was a trip. Unlike anything I have ever heard on here. Awesome distortion, fuzz & mud. Fantastic journey.

You won’t hear surf music ever again! Hendrix Same deal here. Once the door opens , it can’t be shut.
Oh it's bust-'em alright
The band is well named. Heavy! It's great to hear these precursors to hard rock
🔊🎸🎶GREAT BAND, GREAT ALBUM 🎶🎸🔊

How good does this sound
13:16 Probably the best riff I heard

Rock beeswax, with unknown titles/lyrics AND dirty recording, in 70-72 nebula, yeah; will wear a hole in
4:00 mark sounds like Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun.
Really heavy and doomie for the 70s
HEHVEE !!!
Dirty recordings in the damn house
I'm hearing elements of proto-Goth, or is it just me?
Lost it at 9:30, this shit is fucking dirty bud 🤘

Hello! could you tell me under what name the album was released and how to find LP or CD on eBay or other stores ? if you can give a link thank you very much
@@Vladim-i4h it was not a LP in 1973 it was a acetate (promo album) it will be a release in 2023 and the title will be Heavy Rain - Heavy Rain
Wow this is a banger! Like early Pentagram X Pink Floyd
And bunny-stones yezzir
My thoughts exactly.
First song is more like early Manilla Road
