I'd argue it wasn't too metal but it was odd for the main stage, especially with people are there standing and waiting for Fall Out Boy and MCR (who came on right after). August Burns Red and The Devil Wears Prada were amazing sets and the crowd had great energy at Verizon stage. ADTR just has too big of a draw for that small of a stage.
I think OP either needs to stop thinking that it's an emo fest or widen their idea of what emo is. Since Coheed and and Cambria was there too and they are generally acknowledged by both emos and metalheads to be Progressive Metal or at least progressive rock that occasionally included metal. Personally I rather the later. My hot take/pet theory is that the 2000s breed of 'emo' weren't/are not actually emo, but instead if left to their own devices without mainstream media stereotyping them, were/is a variation of prog. I think the diversity if the bands even were in one genre in the first place, blindsided people. My other hot take is that if they wanted to MCR could travel further down the Metal road and do a metal song/album, since 'The Foundations of Decay' (their newest song, but one that they didn't play this time. But OP can totally look it up since CR did play it at the 2022 WWWY fest) had those elements especially towards the end.
Giving it a 5 like it’s average. The performance was very much not average. MCR just makes things look easy. But I also love how they used the large spotlights to make their shadows part of the backdrop. That’s really creative in my opinion, most bands probably would have just used the digital screen and have it as a recording if they were going to also have other images, especially at a festival. But no, MCR took the effort, intent and time to do both.
Damn bro 5/10 for My chem? I agree Fallout Boy puts on a better live show but I’ve gotta give them a 9/10 just for committing to playing The Black Parade in its entirety. And they didn’t sound bad by any means, Gerard is just not album perfect like Patrick usually is.
@kylewilliams6769 the thing is even though they got back together 5 years ago they haven't played much in those 5 years. That was their first show in a year and a half. So that's gonna cause some shakiness with the set
ADTR too metal? Bro they’re metalcore and pop punk. You act like hearing them was equivalent to hearing Cannibal Corpse What planet is this guy from lmao
I saw Fall Out Boy with low expectations in Mexico and I agree... 10/10 great concert! after seeing them I think they are underated, Patrick vocals are one of the bests I ever heard live.
Bro... Four Year Strong was fucking amazing! LMAO I love that your wife is more metal than you are x'D. "Scariest christian band hahaha". August Burns Red was also amazing! Omg I can't keep watching and adding to this comment. A Day To Remember is such a softy ass band. They used to have those goopy slime monster Hot Topic shirts and shit for emo girls to wear. I mean, my God. "Too metal for an emo fest"??? This is a throw back festival not an "emo" festival.
You missed some good Bands. My favorites of the day... 1. Fallout Out Boy 2. Anberlin 3. Story of the Year 4. New Found Glory 5. Atreyu Honorable Mentions...Emery, Saves the Day, Simple Plan
@@jesscasto we saw them do this same album earlier this year and Max wasn’t in top form then so we went to Fallout Boy instead and I’m regretting it after hearing he had a great set! But they added our city on the second leg of the tour so we’ll see them do Is A Real Boy again next month.
This guy has absolutely no taste whatsoever 😂😂😂 trapped in the past, rating all the mediocre bands way too high and giving all the great bands low scores, grow up and quit living in 2003
I can agree with some of your assessments, butt how dare you give MCR a 5 out of ten. May not be your cup of tea, butt I was there. Not a 5 out of 10 and a 10/10 for some of the other performances? Come on bro
@@LilView come on now how can you hate FOB? I don’t love the direction they’ve gone over the years after I loved the first 2 albums but they’re still good. And they seem like good dudes, Patrick did guest spots with Cobra Starship and Motion City, which shows he still remembers the people he came up with.
A day to remember is too metal for an emo fest? 😂 what?!

I know hahahah. After reading that I died.
also rating 1000 to an hiphop artist in emo festival WTF? hahahhaha!

mcr 5/10 is criminal 😭😭😭

It is definitley a hint for mcr5, he knows something that we dont xD

They didint have time constraints like other bands to do a whole album. And FOB basically cheated
ADTR too metal? Bro they’re metalcore and pop punk. You act like hearing them was equivalent to hearing Cannibal Corpse

a.k.a. easycore

Imagine saying ADTR is to metal for an emo fest somebody fell out of trees when they were younger
@@masongarcia6307 for real, ADTR too metal but not ABR 😂🤣
At least MCR aren’t sell outs like FOB.
You missed Cobra Starship, they were 11/10! And c'mon, MCR was great - they don't need flamethrower bass and pyrotehnics to rock the house!
Omg I forgot about cobra starship 😮😮😮😮
@@norcalskim1 Cobra Starship was really good. It was a fun show with the backup singers and dancers.
adtr too metal??? LMAO

Bert (lead singer of the used) cant scream anymore. They dont sound the same anymore. Also its a screamo/emo festival so the metal plays

@sickostyle some songs definitely fit Matty better but "A Day Late" Stephen slayed that song at WWWY Day 2.

Thanks for this
ADTR is too heavy for my wife but certainly not this fest. They are quintessential pop-punk. Get superman punched
Sweetness is better than The Middle.
I would’ve died to go to when we were young festival mcr ptv adtr and fob all in one is a dream❤❤❤❤❤
What's the name of that Tonight Alive song?
Id rather hear MCR poorly play good songs than hear FOB cleanly play bad songs
Say Anything was 10/10 for me. Not a big FOB fan so the schedule was perfection

So August Burns red isn't too metal but ADTR is???
The year 2024 not 2014 wrong type
I'm pretty sure you just don't know the songs MCR played that's why. you rate them low.
nope mcr sucks hope this helps

All poser bands except for Jimmy Eat World.
it says 2014 in the title btw
Thanks, just fixed it.
I'd rather watch anime tbh
I think you were at the wrong festival buddy. Weenie hut juniors is that way ↪️

@Astrobuns MCR was top headliner and had closing set.
