- So... I have never attended a furry convention in my convention career so this was very unfamiliar territory for me. Why not attend my first furry con at the 3rd largest furry convention in the WORLD? lol. My group of friends and I went in support of MacGumi ( @macgumi_wolf on Instagram ) and to see what the fandom is all about! To my surprise....it was alot of fun lol.

I wish more people were like you. Instead of bullying it and just predicting what they are like, you step out of your zone to see what the fandom has to offer. Hope you had fun! :)
thank you for the kind words! I had alot of fun at this con, will def be attending next year.
i’m the dj at 5:53, appreciate you and the support :) i’m glad you came out and had a good time!
Im admittedly a bit socially awkward haha but I couldnt stop moving the entire rave, yall did an amazing job
for me personally its about being who i wanna be.
a fursuit would allow me to do many activites without being judged by society like sledding or enjoying colorful ball-pits since thats child-only activity or being cute/pretty and wearing dresses, something thats female-only!
With a fursuit i would be wearing a mask, thus social anxiety melting away as my identity is hidden and thus getting to be myself.
Said mask would also be making me the better version of me, cute, fuzzy, and huggable. Making everyone far more approachable. after all, the hardest step of any friendship is the first "Hi"
i don't actually have a fursuit or been to a con but thats what i think it is about!
This was my initial thoughts on the fandom before attending, the suit gives people a chance for their social anxiety to melt away. A few off camera interviewees solidified this theory as well. It makes tons of sense. Thank you for watching!
It’s great that you actually were curious and open minded, the great thing about the furry fandom is that it’s a super social, creative space. Great to see a video where people aren’t harassing us, and actually asking questions!
Everyone I met was really kind and welcoming, thank you for watching!
I find that the fursuit , especially the head helps a lot with my social anxiety, It gives me some anonymity, it also helps reduce a lot of sound and distractions when attending conventions, and not just furry conventions! I'll wear it to fantasy and anime and sci-fi conventions as well, people love it! I find I can comfortably walk around in a huge crowded space with a lot less anxiety than without it on. I love conventions, but social anxiety can be a huge set back to enjoying one.
I def feel that. Im socially anxious as well and I can def see how being in suit could curve that anxiety. Theres no better feeling than enjoying yourself around people and not being too much in your head about whats going on and genuinely enjoying the moment.
I’m the DJ at 6:46 ! Glad you had a blast! The room was bumpinnnnn
amazing job, you rocked the hell out of that room.
Definitely out my element as well, but i would totally go again furries know how to party!💃🏻
TFF round 2 it is
As a furry con veteran, I can say elevator con is *every* higher volume furry convention ever lol (BLFC, Further Confusion, Anthrocon, TFF etc)
Smaller cons (AnEx, GSFC etc) don't really have these problems - as well as most (but not all) backup hotels for the bigger cons (why I prefer the Hyatt Place for Further Confusion).
Liked your video btw! One of my favorite things to do at cons is watch the non-furries react & just watch in amusement
Elevator is the secret convention. Awesome video definitely an interesting perspective
Thank you! So true haha, con goers should make a mock make shift Elevator Con sign at the next one haha
Dude that was cool to see you step out the comfort zone and the video was well done as always! Wish it would’ve been more but the interviews you did get were awesome and overall seemed like a good time! Plot twist you start going to more conventions for the first time!
Thanks homie! I really wanna take that idea and run with it, going to cons i wouldnt normally attend.
I love seeing this so many people won't even consider going or talking to us because "it's wierd and not ok" 😊
thank you! Im a firm believer of seeing and experiencing things for myself before formulating opinions. It was alot of fun, good people.
@SPIKE REVIEWS oh yeah and my favorite thing about the Fandom is its open to everyone we have people from every walk of life. I personally don't fit in just about anywhere I'm a mechanic who goes offloading drifting drag racing but also roller skates skate boards watches anime is a furry and I'm bi. I don't fit in anywhere but the furry community welcomed me with open arms and it's great
TBH Those people are missing out! That TFF was THE TIME OF MY LIFEEE
Saw you at the con, love your work my guy. Glad to see you jump out of your element~
ahh sad i missed you . Preciate you! hope to see you at the next con
Tastefully done review dude, thank you. Glad you had a good time! I was one of the DJ's and ya caught me in fursuit riding the pony at 6:32 lol. Interviews are hard to get with people but that's normal cuz most UA-camrs are there just to shit on us so we've learned not to talk. Nothing personal :)
Thank you! haha that was one of my favorite clips I got that entire day
6:10 YESSS THAT RAVE IS SOOO FUNN!! I WAS LIKE DANGGG!! THESE PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO PARRTTYYYYYY!!
6:12 that explained my whole experience It's crazy
So excited to go to my first furry convention this year, seeing this has got me pretty hyped for the rave scene!
This was a nice video! I've been going to furry conventions since around 2014 now. I'm sorry people weren't more open to being interviewed. Many furries tend to be defensive or shy when it comes to cameras and interviews, especially when we are at a convention or meet up. Another thing to take into consideration is that a lot of furries can be socially awkward and don't know how to handle confrontation. However, there are lot's of different folks who enjoy the fandom for different reasons and I think if you go to one again and keep going up to people respectfully and show that your intentions are good, you'll definitely some people to talk! There has been a lot of bad media representation and harassment and I think it's second nature for some of us to not want to talk to folks with cameras who are from outside of the fandom. Most of us view conventions as a space that's designated as ours for the weekend where we can go to escape from our lives. It's a comfort zone where we can be weirdos among our other weirdo friends. I hope you get the chance to go to a furry convention again, you seem really chill!
I kind of knew going in that some people would be reluctant due to the fact that so many people wrongfully bash the Furry community. I cant blame anyone in the fandom for not wanting to open up to youtubers for that reason alone. I believe I had 5 total interviews but only included 3 because the other two were very personal and i thanked those people for sharing their stories with me and knew it wouldnt be right to post those. Thank you so much for watching and I def will attend another furry con if i get the chance.

4:10 the ELEVATOR CON IM SO DONEEE AHHAHA
lmao we need an unofficial discord group next time just for the elevator con
thank you for not judging us, instead you tried to understand it ! a lot of people just go straight to inappropriate or terrible things when they think of us, but we’re not all like that !!
the fandom is so welcoming, and so so accepting of things that dont hurt people ( lgbt, anxiety, depression, and they understand a lot of stuff )
Everyone I met and interacted with were very welcoming and kind. It really pays to do your own research and not pass judgement on hearsay. Looking forward to the next one!
Awesome video! Saw i was in a few clips djing :D
You all killed it at the rave! Thank you

"if you gaze into the abyss..."
Ayy stormi❤❤
OMGG YASHHHHH!!! FURRY CONVENTIONS ARE SOO FUNNN!!!
it was def a blast
Thank you for not being mean ❤
my daughter is 17 and wants to go to furryfest in dallas however I am concerned about the rave. is that after the normal hours it says it's till 10pm so if we pick her up by 10 there will be no rave for her to attend?
The rave is usually 10-2 am I believe
4:20 stairs?
my friends room was on the 27th floor and the con took place on the second floor. That wouldve been a serious work out throughout the day lol
I don't think they have stairs at the con. I was looking for them and I couldn't find them :< plus the floors can go up to like 25-30 That would be a whole work out going up and down @_@
Texas
