    Thanks for the detailed comparison! 👍
    12:50 I expected the EF to be more scratchy and less smooth than the F but that wasn't the case.
    Now I have multiple Safari EFs and the precision is perfect for bullet journaling.

    As for waiting before fliping the page when writing problem you mention, there is also an alternative solution. In the past every school notebook contained a sheet of extra absorbent paper you could use to protect the oposite site from the ink. Nowdays the notebooks don't contain it, but you can still buy this paper separately. It's a good think to have when using fountain pen.

    I use the noodlers ink in my lammy and it works and writes really well. You don't need to worry about it clogging up.

    Pilot Metropolitan fine nib will give you a finer line because it is a Japanese nib. Japanese nibs run finer than German nibs like Lamy.

      Faber makes excellent extra fine nibs, so does Kaweco, but Kaweco is not consistent

    I Love noodler black, it is super permanent and dries very quickly on cellulose based paper. Thanks for the video, I love your illustration.

    Thanks for show us the difference of extra fine and fine nib of Lamy safari. Me I have the medium nib. I think that I go to buy an other, perhaps the fine one. It's a very good fountain pen.

    Thank you for this video, now I know Lamy EF is not for me. I would not consider that as extra fine at all. Really happy with my pilot Kakuno EF, it just excels with the Iroshizuku inks for my really fine style of writing . Though now I am really encouraged to try noodles’s waterproof links with it.

    In my experience, I've found hardly any difference in the results between Lamy nib sizes. For nearly all of the brands that I've used, I find more distinct differences between nib sizes.

      I have the Lamy Nexx EF and it might as well be a medium. Had similar experience with Studio. I’ll won’t purchase any more Lamys

    You can use the safari upside down for a very fine line.

      @@amorylazlo9579 Well what do you think? I didn't mean inside out or writing with the butt-end.
      And its comfortable enough for me since i mostly use it for drawing not writing walls of text.

    I have used noodlers in my Lamy Safari on watercolor paper and it did not bleed or feather when painting watercolor over the ink, I do not know if all noodler inks are waterproof. I will say that although Noodlers is called waterproof and bulletproof ...it is not on all papers...therefore I will switch to Platinum Blac Carbon since I hear lot of good things about it being waterproof. It is very popular.

    I am looking at also changing the nib too. Î have been drawing with the back of the fine nib! Try it.. It's a trick! ;)

    • @AlyonasWatercolourCreations
      @AlyonasWatercolourCreations  6 років тому +1

      Oh yes I have seen people do that, but I am scared it might ruin the nib or something :) I now am totally addicted to my Platinum Carbon Ink fountain pen in super fine, I don't think I can get a finer line than that. It really is amazing for drawing [not so much for long pieces of writing, titles etc is ok].

    Is the extra fine the flex version nib? Cause i seems dont find a cheap flex fountain pen on this brand

    The imprinting from flipping on the previous page when flipping the page, isn’t it an effect of the quality of the ink, rather than the nib size used to apply the ink?

    Thanks so much for this ❤ was having a hard time debating on whether to settle for the F nib or shell out extra for the EF! I write small but a but heavy so this video convinced me to get an EF. 😊
    P.S. Your hand and nails are gorgeous and hope you finally got to try the Noodler's on your LAMYs!

    auto-focus = off... sigh! Also - it depends greatly on the paper you use... there are papers that are more absorbent and they work better with the ink from fountain pens.

    Спасибо за видео. Но, вообще странно, что у Вас EF перо пишет мягче F. Обычно чем шире - тем мягче... Может там заусенец какой-то, типа брак?

    My lamy Safari EF writes thicker than my other Safari in M which writes thin. Any idea why?

    • @BigBabou

      I heard they have bad quality control regarding nibs... So it's kind of a luck box

    • @aeonwindsoeur
      @aeonwindsoeur 2 місяці тому

      Some inks are more juicy, sometimes it is the paper, maybe the tines from the nib are wider apart and thereof you have more ink flow. Usually Lamy is very consistent - maybe you‘ll want someone to have a look at that nib or buy a replacement. They are interchangeable for safari, nexx, allstar etc, sizes and colours, steel or black.
