well judging by the fact that bi han didn't turn them into cyborgs like sector's father in the og timeline and instead just uses these suits as exoskeletons that keep your sould, heart, brain and whole body it's safe to say that compared to sector's father he isn't bad

@EggEnjoyer Not really. The only cartoon villains are Shinnok, Shao Kahn, and to a degree Sindel (in the 2nd timeline). Bi Hans never really been cartoony. Not all games have him super complex, but he's not cartoony either.

I doubt it’s turning into cyborgs this time. Using the Dragon Army as base they’re creating Robot fighters. Makes much more sense to create a backup cybernetic army than go trough more troublesome process of turning one's body into cybernetics
Bi-Han currently shares the ignominy of being one of the few outright villainous antagonists with Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and General Shao (and even they get better nuance than Bi-Han does). This should tell you that Ed Boon absolutely hates Bi-Han and will never let anyone forget it.

@@13lordaaron If Mortal Kombat (2011) and Mortal Kombat 11 are any indication, you are most likely right. In the former, he got shafted in favor of Kuai Liang, and in the latter, neither Sub-Zero got to meet their past selves in favor of having Bi-Han be the "past" Sub-Zero. If they have another male character possess cryomancy, expect Bi-Han to be killed off for that character to inherit Bi-Han's mantle.

This is a detail that is hard to notice unless you look closely. While Bi-Han says "They will face the Lin Kuei's wrath", you can see him slowly smirking.

It bothers me to see how Bi-Han went from being Earth's hero and redeeming himself for his actions before the MK1 tournament, to being the new Sektor in this new timeline. Both Reptile, Ermac, Baraka and even Mileena have been redeemed in their new stories, I hope they give the same treatment to Bi-Han in the next installment, it can't be that they always make him look like the bad guy. 😥 So far the best Sub-Zero (Bi-Han) is the one from Mythologies, who does the right thing in the end after a life full of mistakes is the Bi-Han that fans of the character want to see. 💪💙

Okay, so this could be an interesting twist.For this version "cyber intiative", Sektor could just create mass produced A.I soldiers WITHOUT having to convert the clan into cyborgs.
Sektor and Cyrax with still be and look human, but will have several cybernetic enhancements made on their body( think Cyberpunk) to make them faster and stronger.
They’ll get to the cyborgs eventually
I like that way better tbh. I always thought it was so jarring and unfitting for Lin Kuei, a relatively traditional ninja clan, to all of a sudden make their members robot slaves.

I kinda hope that this ending is canon, so that Bi-Han absolutely gets screwed over by Sektor betraying him. Then we can get the redemption arc from Bi-Han because he would be the type to want to keep his own humanity and not become one of Sektor's cyborgs
I doubt that Bi-Han will experience redemption in future games since Ed Boon doesn't have a favorable opinion of him.

Bi-Han is the Grandmaster, he just wants to do more for his clan than to protect Earthrealm. He wants power, not to be told what he can and cant do. As he stated in story mode, he hasnt seen kombat in a long time. Dude just likes a challenge and to fight.

Before the game came out, I'm like, oh heck yeah, we have the OG sub zero, and my expectations were to hate and love him like my boy shang tsung.... smh, wrong, they really made him a butt butt.

I’m coming back to this because I had to confirm that Sektor of the Liu Kang timeline is a male in the early part of the story and now they gender swapped him? I would have been okay with a gender swap I’ll be honest but this is an inconsistency in writing if I’ve ever seen one.
Horrible writing the human versions of sektor and cyrax would've been way cooler than female blue beetle clones
Going off what we've seen, the Cyber Initiative currently is the production of robots. Bi Han wanted to bolster numbers. Cyborgs wouldnt do that
My guess is that his and Sektor's interests will diverge eventually as Sektor being the "anything for progress" guy will decide to convert their men into cyborgs whilst Bi Han is reluctant to trade his clan's humanity, therefore leading to mutiny and possible redemption
These are just my two cents though. God please fix his character assassination. Dude is literally just blue Sektor now. Keeps getting better and better
That would make perfect sense. I can see Sektor being like Doc Terror from The Centurions; a cybernetics genius who eventually becomes convinced that the Lin Kuei and humankind's future lies in mechanization.
Sektor: We can eventually convert the entire Lin Kuei into bionic robots.

Looks like we'll get the return of Cyber Sub Zero. Also, in this new timeline it now seems like the cyber initiative is all Sektor's idea. I have a feeling Cyrax is also no better since Scorpion said his loyalty to Bi Han was *absolute*
Either that, or maybe Cyrax is going to get his head out of his ass and leave the Lin Kuei immediately once he sees the horrors of what happens.
Damn WTF why no nuance Ed Boon. He just wanted more power and should have realised that Shang Tsung and Quan Chi were going to betray him too. Or a double agent type thing
Ed Boon just hates Bi-Han for killing Scorpion and that Bi-Han got his own game so he clearly went nuts once John Tobias left which left Ed Boon in control of Mortal Kombat's direction from then on. I believe Ed Boon is the reason that Mortal Kombat was as bloody and gory in the first place by introducing it as a staple feature with blood and fatalities, and this happened after he at first turned down John Tobias's pitch for the original game in favor of pushing another game at the time that eventually failed before deciding to give John Tobias's concept a chance because why not.
Note the death of Liu Kang, the good guys suddenly losing en masse, the fact that the story continued getting bleaker and bleaker, characters getting retcons that make them more unlikeable while Scorpion constantly has his "revenge" mindset propped up as not as bad as it is while glossing over why even he ended up in the Netherrealm in the first place (which seems to have been forgotten in this day and age) to the point where we wonder why we care about these characters in the first place while Scorpion gets more reasons to be given sympathy because he's Ed Boon's favorite character.

In the old timeline loyalty to the Lin Kuei means everything to Bi Han, he did reafirmed his vows after mk mythologies despite everything.
I am not that suprised that he would try to elevate the clans status furthur.
@@thomasphil543 His ending in Mortal Kombat 1 implied that he was planning to get out of the Lin Kuei had he successfully assassinate Shang Tsung and retire with the money he earned from it were it not for both Liu Kang defeating Shang Tsung and Scorpion killing Bi-Han out of revenge for his own death (or rather his family's and or clan's deaths). What Raiden said to him about the darkness in his soul clearly disturbed him a great deal.
@@BlueSunStudios1 You are right that in original mk1 he killed Shang Tsung to earn enough money to retire, but a lot of the endings in mk1 had zero bearing with the mk world itself, no mentions of outworld, Shao Kahn, Raiden being a malevolent god and most importantly no mention of Bi Han association with Lin Kuei.
It wasn't until mk2 that these things were mentioned.
Also In MK Mythologies, right after Bi Han finishes his mission, Shang tsung hires him for his services, I find it unlikely that Bi Han was aware he was gonna be hired at that point.
Could be plot twist where Bi Han and Kuai Liang are just the grandmaster's adopted sons and Sektor was the true son abandoned by his father because of his ambition to cyberlize the Lin Kuei

Looking at the thing Sektor was working on, it looked more like an outer suit. I highly doubt the Cyber Initiative will be exactly the same. A ton of drones and Iron Man robot suits maybe.😊
Instead of trying to take over the world with a massive army, I would have expected Bi-Han make the Lin Kuei more of a secret society, leading and controlling Earthrealm from the shadows. Take out people who would get in their way, install, or recruit power into positions of power and influence.
Make the Lin Kuei like a third faction, they want to protect Earthrealm but Bi-Han decides that the Lin Kuei should be the one to lead Earthrealm in order to protect it without Liu Kang's influence.
This is exactly what I expected too. I expected the Lin Kuei to be like the Templars, covertly trying to instill order across the realms & being arrogant enough to believe that they would do a better job than Liu Kang.
You need to get in the writing room then and knock out Ed Boon

I think that they made Bi-Han evil because of the movie, and I have to admit that the Sub Zero movie was pretty cool 😎 but the flop here is that they do not made him as powerful as the one in the movie

Even though I really don’t like Bi Han becoming unapologetically evil in the story, it’s interesting to see a possible return of cyber sub zero as Bi Han this timeline with him giving the green light on the cyber initiative

I think this time we will see the cybers return but maybe to maintain rule over the clan sun zero might undergo the cyber process and the cyber version of him from MK9 could return in the next game. Another idea is that he becomes so obsessed with Kombat that it drives him mad and he kills sektor to take the cybers with him making a new tekunin clan but this time blue and grey can’t wait for more info.

They took away Kuai Liang Subzero, the definitive Subzero for Subzero fans, and threw a Scorpion skin on him so they could just turn Bi Han into his dad from the og timeline instead of Noobsaibot. Then they turned Scorpion into a kid. All so they could prop Scorpion up as the "good guy" and Subzero as the "bad guy" in a flimsy attempt to get more Scorpion fans cause he's Edd Boons favorite character. They did a lot of cool things with this reboot but this by far was the worst.

Why is Bi-han wanting to seek power suddenly out of character for him? Ppl are complaining that they made Bi-han evil but I don't even think he is full-on evil like Quan chi or Shang Tsung. Even in his intros, there were times where he acknowledged things that went too far like Sindel's death and Shang tsung's labaratory.

What if Sektor builds these machines but they aren't working as intended. Then Sub Zero thinks everyone should be converted. Sektor leaves and joins Scorpion and Smoke in the Shirai Ryu only then have a twist Kuai Liang Scorpion gets captured and converted have a robotic scorpion would be something new to the series.
