The dates vary accross articles. There is no 'one' difinitive answer. People between 95 and 00 have the fluidity to choose where they fit because of the many different definitions there are
Baby Boomers - 1946-1964 (54-72 years old) Gen X - 1965-1980 (38-53 years old) Millennials - 1981-1996 (22-37 years old) Post Millennials/GenZ - 1997-Present (0-21 years old)
Wth I didnt know parents give children their phones/tablets and let them watch youtube alone. So that's why yt now has those annoying children restrictions you cant turn off 🙄
As a Millennial, (1986), I was the one using the internet dial up you played while you were still a baby. Did you just forget the generation that were kids when computers just started to be in peoples homes in the 90s? We were the ones who used computers the most! I entered high school in 2000, and remember when chat rooms were sorta new. We were all about AIM and Myspace. And some of us were playing online games like Everquest. My mom personally refused any game that had a monthly subscription haha. But I remember trying to play online games only to be kicked offline whenever we got a landline phone call. >_>
I'm a gen-x mom with gen-z kids (well young adults now) and I think gen-z is awesome!! My youngest son probably watches or has watched your UA-cam channel. He showed me a video of someone playing a video game once, and told me about it. I'm absolutely okay with UA-cam celebrities, it's great to see people other than the typical actor/actress getting their ideas out there. I'm not a fan of censorship, but yeah parents must be aware of what their kids are watching and talk to them about it, it's really the only way to ensure their safety and in my opinion it always has been the only way.
TLDR; new generations realize television is too restrictive either in content, timezones, ads or honesty so they shift to a more authentic & free platform.
It's true though, I spend so much time on documentaries, travel vlogs, cosplayers, writing videos, and reading articles. And tv shows and movies are only something I do with my bro.
i was born in april 95 and was lucky to have strict parents that limited my technology use. never had a myspace, and it was about 2011 when I got my first cell phone. I couldn't stand how strict they were but now i look around at people similar to my age that have so many problems and no social skills, and I'm eternally grateful for my father and step mother.
I grew up in early Gen Z, yet I recall a time that I wanted to be on TV, and then got older and thought most social media was pointless apart from the blessing of meeting great friends overtime. I was born in 03 and when I was a kid part of my childhood was freaking Last Airbender, I'll be honest that even in the early 2010s we still had the tradition that Gen X people had lol

There’s this weird gap year where it’s kids who seen vcr’s, phone books, maps and other stuff. It’s that transition between the beginning use of the internet and life before. I separate those born in the beginning compared to someone born in 2013 who was born into the internet.
Other generations: Gen Z's are failures! 5 Year old looks up from building blocks No not you: Teens look up from SATs Other generations: No not you Kid who just got into to college Other generations: Wait a minute....
Totally agree with this man a lot of research has gone into this, quique question for any avet youtube watcher would you watch content that has not got the best of quality but is pretty good
The reason we are maturing so quickly is because of this negative media. For example= Newspaper articles headlines are full of homicides,Suicide rates increasing, Starving children in Africa, forced marriage.etc
I don't watch TV anymore and just UA-cam because I can just watch whatever I want whenever I want. On TV they mostly bring stuff that doesnt interest me and butcher my childhood serials....
Is anyone else confused about if they are a millennial or a gen z, cause the years are always different? Sometimes millennial stops at 1995, 1996, or 1997 depending and who you ask and it’s so confusing.
Generations are separated by important and memorable events, so if you don’t remember not having the internet and you don’t remember 9/11, you can be classified as gen z.
He kept saying that no one holds online influencers accountable but themselves. I disagree, when an influencer screws up they get backlash from, seemingly, everywhere. They also risk losing subcribers and viewers, also people who might've followed them, then heard about what happened might skip their content all together. If influencers mess up to much they risk losing everything they've worked for. Online influencers are held accountable by everyone else who uses the internet. Atleast this is what I've seen during my time on the interenet (mostly UA-cam). He didn't even mention how much backlash Logan Paul got for posting that video. It just felt, to me, like he was trying to say that the internet and gen z are dooming the future.
could it be my boy from cod zombies johnny J preach it brotha the future is in our hands and the hands of this new generation your speech has given me hope that things will get better with a will we will change this world for good or for worse
I don’t even relate to kids a year younger than me much less born in 2010, I think the cut off for gen z is more like 2005/2006. internet culture rapidly changes, the development of new generations is also much shorter now too, a 20 year difference (ish) is no longer useable and it is more like 9-10 years
It depends on what words do u use to google. Some sources online cite the beginning as 1995. It doesn't matter, because the 1995-1997 borns grew up the same. They all has smartphones during their teen years and grew up with social media.
It's because of guys like Logan Paul that the FTC came in late 2019, and decided they were going to control it all, and UA-cam would step out of the way and let them, despite the fact this was a beast THEY helped Create. There's many factors that lead to it but that was part of it for sure.
It's been a few years since I've taken public speaking so dont quote me on this. But from what I remember, you're supposed to be moving a little. More specifically in regards to your hands. Standing still with your arms crossed makes you appear for closed off, and less interesting to the audience. So, they swaying is probably a combination of stage anxiety, and him moving with his body as he tries to keep his hands moving.

We need a platform for Us Gen Z you are getting really tired of UA-cam recommending Cringe like jimmy Fallon jimmy Kimmel Ellen DeGeneres etc.on UA-cam Page
Since when was 1995 Gen Z
Everything I've seen says 97 or 98
acetheneko same thought till 97 is millenual and after that it is gen z
The dates vary accross articles. There is no 'one' difinitive answer. People between 95 and 00 have the fluidity to choose where they fit because of the many different definitions there are
acetheneko in my mind gen z grew up on the internet and millennials grew up as the internet grew up
Baby Boomers - 1946-1964 (54-72 years old)
Gen X - 1965-1980 (38-53 years old)
Millennials - 1981-1996 (22-37 years old)
Post Millennials/GenZ - 1997-Present
(0-21 years old)
Pew research gave official years of gen z is 1997-2012
Where pewds at?
We all know he is talked about Keems controversial past.
yep
@@leonunderconstruction wasn' that leafy?
That is totally a Keemstar and his toxic audience
Wth I didnt know parents give children their phones/tablets and let them watch youtube alone. So that's why yt now has those annoying children restrictions you cant turn off 🙄
😤🙄🙄 Boomers and Gen X need to take a hike
As a Millennial, (1986), I was the one using the internet dial up you played while you were still a baby. Did you just forget the generation that were kids when computers just started to be in peoples homes in the 90s? We were the ones who used computers the most!
I entered high school in 2000, and remember when chat rooms were sorta new. We were all about AIM and Myspace. And some of us were playing online games like Everquest. My mom personally refused any game that had a monthly subscription haha. But I remember trying to play online games only to be kicked offline whenever we got a landline phone call. >_>
Pretty sure he was talking about having internet for the whole lifetime, since they were born.
@@juanmaruli4977 yeah
I'm a gen-x mom with gen-z kids (well young adults now) and I think gen-z is awesome!! My youngest son probably watches or has watched your UA-cam channel. He showed me a video of someone playing a video game once, and told me about it. I'm absolutely okay with UA-cam celebrities, it's great to see people other than the typical actor/actress getting their ideas out there. I'm not a fan of censorship, but yeah parents must be aware of what their kids are watching and talk to them about it, it's really the only way to ensure their safety and in my opinion it always has been the only way.
I watch TV, but it’s mostly just me binging anime, but I do watch UA-cam a lot too.
You can't binge a show with normal tv broadcasting. Do you mean streaming services? Cause that's where I watch my anime too
Mashisseosseo I usually binge anime with Hulu or Funimation if that is what you are asking.
@@AzureAsher Yeah that's what I mean. Hulu and funimation would be considered online streaming platforms and not TV
TLDR; new generations realize television is too restrictive either in content, timezones, ads or honesty so they shift to a more authentic & free platform.
As a youtuber / streamer myself, this was very educative to get a better insight in this day and age! :)
Take a shot every time he says “influencer”
*TAKE A SHOT EVERYTIME HE SPEAKS*
Take a shot every time he mentions youtube or nickelodeon
People gonna need their stomaches pumped
Take a shot when his hands touch
Take a shot every time he wobbles from side to side
UA-cam is the new TV, TV channels would have so many views if we didn’t have UA-cam & NETFLIX
Dude I remember watching your call of duty zombies a&a videos. Johnny J 25 was my childhood
i like how he said "wether you're a good person or a responsible person with your audiece"
It's true though, I spend so much time on documentaries, travel vlogs, cosplayers, writing videos, and reading articles.
And tv shows and movies are only something I do with my bro.
i just searched a youtube video about call of duty zombies and found this guy. Didnt expect he talked in TED, love for Call of Duty Zombies
i was born in april 95 and was lucky to have strict parents that limited my technology use. never had a myspace, and it was about 2011 when I got my first cell phone.
I couldn't stand how strict they were but now i look around at people similar to my age that have so many problems and no social skills, and I'm eternally grateful for my father and step mother.
Pretty sure he's talking more about gen alpha than gen z (the youngest current generation)
Same
it's impossible to accurately name the target, just take the good advice & apply it
I grew up in early Gen Z, yet I recall a time that I wanted to be on TV, and then got older and thought most social media was pointless apart from the blessing of meeting great friends overtime. I was born in 03 and when I was a kid part of my childhood was freaking Last Airbender, I'll be honest that even in the early 2010s we still had the tradition that Gen X people had lol
We are connecting. The times are changing.

UA-cam Terms & Conditions: AM I A JOKE TO YOU??
No, that holds everybody else accountable for no reason.
this guy rocks back and forth so often im worried hes gonna fall over
no, hold up- kids who consider logan paul a celebrity are not my generation
Logan And Jake and Liza Koshy and etc. are all millennials straight up
John: talks about how UA-camrs are a new kind of celebrity
Me (a big fan of youtube): please don't talk about Logan Paul, please don't talk about Logan Paul ... Dang it!
5 Year old looks up from building blocks
No not you:
Teens look up from SATs
Other generations: No not you
Kid who just got into to college
Other generations: Wait a minute....
Totally agree with this man a lot of research has gone into this, quique question for any avet youtube watcher would you watch content that has not got the best of quality but is pretty good
i used to watch this dude all the time, had no idea it was him
I feel kinda like this is the reason UA-cam has such terrible guide lines (😢rip content cop)
"take liza koshi"....not backed up by a private company....(x) to doubt
The reason we are maturing so quickly is because of this negative media.
For example= Newspaper articles headlines are full of homicides,Suicide rates increasing, Starving children in Africa, forced marriage.etc
I don't watch TV anymore and just UA-cam because I can just watch whatever I want whenever I want. On TV they mostly bring stuff that doesnt interest me and butcher my childhood serials....
Very informative. Very nice.
Wrong, most of his audience is under the age of 12 :/
Interesting….

I was born in Generation Z my dad used to download movies for me to watch and when I was 4 I discovered UA-cam
John just explained what it really means to be an influencer (Celebrity of internet).
He didn't even mention the Holy Trinity of UA-cam- Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye and Markiplier! ()___()
Is anyone else confused about if they are a millennial or a gen z, cause the years are always different? Sometimes millennial stops at 1995, 1996, or 1997 depending and who you ask and it’s so confusing.
Co ask
I love how he put this video on youtube
How technology changed it not Gen Z. This guy isn't even a proper Gen Z. Technically he is but the real Gen Z are born 2000-2010
Depends on who you ask
Generations are separated by important and memorable events, so if you don’t remember not having the internet and you don’t remember 9/11, you can be classified as gen z.
Gen z is born after 95
Its just what it is.. Mindset doesn't follows along
@@soyasauce3626 I guess
Sad being early gen z these days meant teens reject you and millennials said u are too young to be millennial.
Anyone knows who is the unnamed influencer?? :D

I don’t even relate to kids a year younger than me much less born in 2010, I think the cut off for gen z is more like 2005/2006. internet culture rapidly changes, the development of new generations is also much shorter now too, a 20 year difference (ish) is no longer useable and it is more like 9-10 years
You are right. Gen Z does actually start in 2005.

actually, I looked it up and this is the years to be about Gen Z is the newest generation to be named and were born between 1997 and 2012/15.
It depends on what words do u use to google. Some sources online cite the beginning as 1995. It doesn't matter, because the 1995-1997 borns grew up the same. They all has smartphones during their teen years and grew up with social media.
Yeah they are close to the year 1995 so they count as well. I was just brain dead at the time
It's because of guys like Logan Paul that the FTC came in late 2019, and decided they were going to control it all, and UA-cam would step out of the way and let them, despite the fact this was a beast THEY helped Create. There's many factors that lead to it but that was part of it for sure.
It's my Lord JonnyJ
ngl I love my generation
I am a gen z and I love tv shows and watch UA-cam on to go or if nothing good is on and didn’t watch till the age of 10

HE STAYS SWAYING BACK N FORTH
It's been a few years since I've taken public speaking so dont quote me on this. But from what I remember, you're supposed to be moving a little. More specifically in regards to your hands. Standing still with your arms crossed makes you appear for closed off, and less interesting to the audience. So, they swaying is probably a combination of stage anxiety, and him moving with his body as he tries to keep his hands moving.
