Artesania Latina L'Hermione Part 1 Unboxing, Building the Frames and First Planks

This is the beginning of the build process for the Artesania Latina L'Hermione Lafayette. This is the new edition of the kit. In this part I show the contents of the kit and a slideshow of how I put together the false keel and frames. I also add the first two planks. The video covers stages 1 to 5.1 in the instructions.

What glue is best for building this? Thanks

I would recomend wood glue since it gives you time to set the pieces in their correct place. For some parts use superglue if there is no way to hold them in place until they set. Same if you are glueing the metal parts since wood glue won't secure them well enough.

The difference is low quality wood only. just plywood and the cheapest basswood. No instructions at all. The 1:1 plan pictures will be conveniently missing. This is across the line of the products. The company name was purchased and they are trying to cash out on the reputation. Shameful.

The quality of the wood is pretty bad, especially the dowels for the masts which I will probably have change since they are very bent. The instructions come in a CD but have some mistakes which I'm discovering as I'm building, not the best to say the least. But in spite of all that the model is coming out nice. Hopefully the end result will look good.
