    Im writing this comment with a heavy heart, im completely devestated my poor baby chubby, my indian ringneck passed away at just 9 weeks old, exactly 8 days after i bought him from the pet store. I had a necropsy performed and it suggested he had a respiratory infection from before i bought him. I loved him so much and he loved me too, i was on the phone arguing with the shop owner and ended up getting a replacement quacker parrot this one isnt hand raised like the IRN i had before which i was Hand rearing, hes 12 weeks old at the moment and very fiesty and aggresive. Im going to give him 2 weeks alone in his cage to aclimate with his new home before i start taming him, any tips would be appreciated, his bites are very strong and hurt more than my parrotlets. I love this guy too and just hope he will give me a chance to be his lifelong friend.

      Keeping him alone in his cage will teach him to be lonely and probably bite more. It is not teaching him companionship and connection. Please re-consider.
      I'm sorry for your experience. Losing your IRN - what a heart-breaking experience.
      I'm sure your Quaker will be great. He or she will get past the biting. I have videos on biting and bonding, I hope you watch and that they help you.
      What did you name your Quaker? Quakers can be very affectionate, so you have a lot of love to look forward to!

      With time, I would guess they will. Be careful though, Cockatiels are too sweet and sometimes other birds will hurt them. Congratulations on the new Quaker!

    What a PERFECT video for me right now! After following you for a year, and researching, we finally adopted our first bird 4 days ago, a 4 month old green opaline Quaker we named Meeka!

    That’s what I did with the AG I fostered. He could talk but I was told he wasn’t tame . In fact I was cautioned he was mean. I opened his cage and let him go in and out at will. Over time he became less cautious and curious about us. It took a while but he did become nice enough to step up and ask for scritches. I only really use target training with difficult behaviors. (Ivar😂). I loved watching your babies bonding.💕💕💕

      Yes, it makes it so easy! Ahhhh- an AG that wants to step up! The baby I fed was like that! Zeus, bless us both, scares me. I wonder how many years it will take him to tame me! Lol

    So I have been doing it right 😮 I’ve just been sharing my space with my Grey who was given to me 1 1/2 years ago. This week was the first time she stepped up on her own. I kept my hand at a short distance away from her yet she came to me!

      @@ParrotBliss It sure is. It took her a few months just to come out of her cage since she sat in a small one for 23 years without toys. She has settled in with the flock and my routine like I’ve had her for years. She’ll even go to bed when I turn off the lights to the budgie cages. Then she tries to shut the cage door. Her understanding of English is amazing too. I look forward to our petting sessions each morning. I’ve been putting my had close to her. Moving it around. Opening and closing it. Pointing my finger at her and saying tickle tickle tickle. That move there gets her dancing and shaking her tail feathers. So cute.

    Do you think that it’s beneficial and or necessary to have multiple birds?

    My Quaker is tamed but he’s a jerk sometimes. He will be so sweet and preening my mom and I before running up the shoulder and bitting us. He gets too big for his britches so to speak hahaha
    Any tips to help with that?

    I might move out of the country and even though my father is #1 in my parrot’s heart ♥️ I spend the most time with Blueberry so I’m seriously debating if I should get a second quaker so Blueberry doesn’t end up depressed 😩
    On a different note, your video is hilarious. Goes to show quakers don’t stay still like a parrot on a pirate’s shoulder lol My quaker always needs to be doing something 😅 usually wants to lick the bottom of my nose or check out earrings

    • @ParrotBliss
      @ParrotBliss  Рік тому +1

      You know I’ve got more than 1- they will have to get to know each other, but whether you move or not, any time you aren’t home they can keep each other company.
      Quakers are playful! I rarely wear earrings! Lol
