Just wanted to thank you for getting me into this game NL!
I'm still a noob but in the last few minutes I just beat my first Mega Satan fight - it was one of the more rewarding experiences I've had in gaming :P
congrats! Game isn't as easy as he makes it look until you play it a lot
It's hard at first but in a few months believe me you will be shouting at your screen because NL has no logical thinking skills.
+Paul O'Neill He makes some decisions that hurt me deep down in my soul... I've also made some decisions that did the same thing too though. Egg suffers from the youtuber plight of playing a game and talking, which makes it harder, so I cant always blame him lol
+Ranuu Q when you stop for a second and think you should be able to do a deal with the devil correctly. Oh and I have actually recorded with live commentary before and it is difficult but not really in Isaac because I talk to myself about it anyway...

Anarchist cook book can be used as an endless suply of bombs with fuse cutter, so that is a way you can get some value out of it. Also on a previous episode you asked if you could get something other than dry baby for blowing-up skulls, you can actually get ghost baby.
Ryab quoted a line from Kanye West, and although he got the album right (MBDTF), that line is not from "Power", it's from "Monster".
At 8:10 he find a "dime" but it's actually a penny. But he got 11 cents o_O egg turn of your cheat engine!

that's not how cheat engine works.
Crown of light is 2x damage when the crown is blue (which is when you are at full red hearts and have not taken damage on the current room)
its INSANELY GOOD, i won a lost run with bossrush, hush, dark room and mega satan because of crown of light!

With the double Monstro fight, I always focus on one entirely to make the fight a lot easier a lot quicker

THAT item at the end was immaculate conception the "ANGEL" version of câmbio conception and gives u a angel familiar when u pick up a red heart 15 times.

I have a stupid amount of appreciation for fuse cutter, I love them since I completed a run with that Pyromaniac, Curse of the tower, and all bomb buffs.
Immaculate conception gives issac a angelic power permenatley when you pick up a heart
No it does not, it works as the complete angelic opposite of Cambion Conception. Cambion Conception gives a demonic familiar after you get hit 15 times, up to five free familiars(75 hits taken) can be spawned, while Immaculate Conception gives you an angelic familiar every 15 hearts(half hearts only count as half) you pick up, up to five free familiars(75 hearts collected) can be spawned.

Immaculate Conception is basically a flip-flopped Cambion Conception: you get familiars for picking up hearts instead of taking damage.
"I don't want White Pony, we can already fly" have you even seen the buffed "crack the sky" effect yet? D: it's soooooo good. Like, possibly half of Isaac's HP in one button press good. And you passed it up for the possibility of Cancer (bad with Mom's Knife) or Curved Horn.
fyi nl, moms box of trinkets doubles the effect of your trinket/s only while held. It dosnt generate like super trinkets that you can then take with you all willy nilly. Still a pretty dang good active item

The golden horse shoe gives you a 15% chance for a double item room, and with your trinket box it's doubled to 30%!

If you didn't know, if you blow up the carpet on the bedroom you have a guaranteed floor skip/ladder and a chance to get to the Black Market.
Hey Egg, It's still possible that a dirty Isaac's Room can contain a Crawl Space under the carpet! It's a much lower chance, but it's still possible. Also, Blasting Cap isn't that bad of a trinket.
There's a special place in hell for people who end an Isaac run with 77 coins and a first level Bumbo.
Karma is a trinket.
Effect[edit | edit source]
Donating to a Donation Machine has a chance to heal Isaac for a full red heart or spawn a Beggar.
Increases the chance that donating to a Donation Machine will increase Isaac's luck.
Upon picking up enough heart pickups, Isaac gains a permanent angelic familiar. Possible familiars include:
Holy Water
Guardian Angel
Sworn Protector
The Relic
Seraphim
The first and second familiars will spawn after picking up 15 heart pickups each. The third, fourth, and fifth familiars will spawn after picking up 30 heart pickups each. No further familiars will spawn.

Red, soul, and black hearts all count towards spawning a familiar.
Items that directly add health such as Yum Heart, Book Of Revelations, Satanic Bible, and The Nail do not count towards spawning a familiar.
Only one of each type of familiar can be spawned.
This item is the angelic counterpart to Cambion Conception.
With all the people pointing out that Northernlion missed the deal on Depths II only to be reminded that he had already seen it, I find it funny that nobody has pointed out that he probably didn't consciously remember that to make that decision.

Box of Trinkets + Lucky Toe is basically Mom's Key
mom's box didn't work with lucky rock because you weren't holding it when you exploded the rock.

+dark souls 1 Yes but getting any character twice in a row is very unlikely. Like, rolling a 6 with a die once is a 1/6 chance, but rolling it twice in a row is a 1/6 * 1/6 so a 1/36 chance. Afterbirth has 13 characters, rolling any one of them is a 1/13 chance, but rolling the same character twice in a row is a 1/13 * 1/13 = 1/169 chance, so like a 0.6% chance.

Okay, go get a die, throw it two times in a row and see how many times you get two 6s in a row. Its the same principle.
If you look at every character roll as an isolated event, yes the chance is always 1/13. But if you're looking at them as a group (the chance to get the same character in multiple rolls in a row) the odds multiply. Like, rolling the same character 3 times in a row would be 1/13 * 1/13 * 1/13 so 1/2197.
If you flip a coin, the chance to get heads or tails on each flip is 50%. But the chance of getting, say, 5 heads in a row isn't 50%. That's why NLs situation is so funny.
dark souls 1 To break it down with a simple example of a coin toss. If you toss a coin 2 times in a row, the possible results are (H is for heads, T is for tails):
HH HT TT TH
So 4 possible results. Getting 2 heads in a row (HH) is a 1/4 so a 25% chance.
If you toss a coin 3 times the possible results are:
HHH TTT HHT HTT TTH THH HTH THT
So 8 possible results. Getting HHH (3 heads in a row) is a 1/8 chance so a 12.5% chance.
See what i mean? The same principle applies to afterbirth's 13 character random roll.

Yo NL, Black Feather can be really good; look it up on PlatinumGod. Basically if you have all the items it works with it gives you +2.5 damage which can be doubled to +5 with Mom's Box. It's like a conditionally better Curved Horn basically

Fun fact! True randomness doesn't seem random. People believe that once one random option is selected, the chance of getting the same thing is lowered. However, the chance is still the same. That's why the random selector picks the same characters. Seemingly rigged, but in reality, it's true randomness.

29:50: Ooh, Stud Finder could have been really good too. I'm always looking for it as The Lost because it increases your chance for Crawlspaces which increases your chance of getting a Black Market, and the chance is doubled by mom's Box.

There is nearly a hundred trinket in the game. Getting curve horn or cancer is pretty unlikely.

Also, disappointed to not see the reroll. Chaos allows you to reroll into every pool, so potentially tons of passive deal with the devil items. Obviously only applies to the first time you reroll since then you no longer have chaos, but that's not an issue for a 6 room.
...Though, rerolling holy mantle would've sucked, I admit. I don't fault NL for not doing it, just would've liked to see it.

Wait wait wait- I think I misunderstood. You're trying to claim rerolling always draws from every item pool?
I'm not sure about dice rooms, but d4 and d100 ABSOLUTELY do not. I've breakfasted myself with both of them many times and not gotten a single thing exclusive to devil or angel rooms. If anything I think it can draw from boss pools as well as item room pools, and maybe other stuff, but definitely not devil/angel.
You actually have a 1 in 169 chance of getting the same character twice in a row, since there are 13 characters. That Northernlion luck, eh?
