When I first considered purchasing a panorama set up many years ago, RRS products were at the top of my wish list, but the price was out of reach for me.
I deliberated for so long until the day I hit the purchase button of my entry into the RRS family and was still freaking out about the money I had just spent.
It took me a while to figure out my nodal points for the rail and record them into my list, and then the second time I was out using my panorama set up to photograph the city skyline, a young guy walking passed stopped his parents and I over heard him say "that is the Holy Grail of ball heads", which put a smile on my face.
The cost was very quickly forgotten with the realisation that this gear was worth it, and has been the envy of so many photographers I have been out with.
Great to see how much the RRS team put into perfecting their equipment.

The art of engineering. I own only Really Right Stuff gear to support and protect my investment in camera gear. It has never let me down. Changing from full frame DSLR to MFT this tripod seems to be a perfect match to the equally well engineered OM-System.

Very interesting and nicely done. Thanks for posting the video. The Ascend is indeed a superb tripod, best I’ve seen (and used!) for remote wandering.

This is the ultimate tripod. The best one. Except for the fact that they are all back ordered.

im getting mine in one day from today, I already owned the 34L, Really right stuff has been my go to tripod not because of hype but because oi quality and build, I owned my first tripod for years its like the day I bought it, it has taken many many hits from all across the globe, so many things i can say about really right stuff you will have to own one to appreciate quality its worth it im my humble option, this thing is like lego pieces i can strip down my tripod to clean it and build it back up in no time, you can swim dive even use it in any kind of weather or terrain, the main deal breaker with these tripods is cleaning them, once you keep them clean it will last you a life time and perform like new always.

Your comment was left 4 months ago. How are you liking the tripod now after all this time? I own the 24L with a BH-40 but found it was not rigid enough to handle a Sony A7R4 with 100-400mm so I will be upgrading to a 34L with BH-55. Considering getting this tripod for situations where I need a lower profile like city shooting or short excursions without strong winds.

this is perfection, such a well thought out design. I just simply can't think of anything I would want to change. the price is high, but considering all the features and internals (center column) I think it's more than justified. And with the lighter mirrorless (also no mirror slap) cameras I think sturdy for most applications with moderate focal lengths. I have a 24L with an arca P0 head, but this is actually what I need, anyone want my 24L? :)
