I think Adam's assessment of James Mangold is quite fair. He's not stylistic at all but he's a damn solid director and writer that will (outside of awful ideas like Indiana Jones 5) produce a generally well-received and enjoyable film.
@@obscure.reference For sure. He hasn't made anything mind-blowing or that changed cinema. Haven't seen Girl Interrupted but Logan was solid; well constructed, thoughtful and emotional but not revolutionary. He's an above average working director I'd say.

Kids mirroring kid behavior in media is so unbelievably ignored, when I was a kid I actually loved spinach and green veggies until I saw so much media where kids would gag and puke when they ate them so I stopped wanting it. If I was the outlier I must be wrong right? I also had a book where a toddler flushed a watch down a toilet, and one day in the bathroom I saw a watch sitting on a shelf next to the toilet. Naturally, I tossed it in and flushed, almost immediately regretting it but in the moment I was just seized with a sense of “That’s just what you do”. It was my older sister’s souvenir from a trip to Europe, irreplaceable and gone in a second. Lastly, I also had a younger brother and actually started out excited about it. I was eager to help take care of him and share my toys etc, but then I saw shows “teaching” kids to not be jealous and how older kids always hate and blame their younger siblings for everything. My parents didn’t help with the whole “younger brothers just drive you crazy don’t they :)” attitude, and eventually I did start mimicking the behavior that I saw because I was playing my appropriate role as hateful older sibling. Kids are sponges and biologically programmed to mirror the behaviors that they’re shown, i feel like a lot of dumb shit that kids do is because adults insist at them that they should do it. Because that’s the thing, all of these “bad” behaviors were things I learned from KID media, not violent video games or adult content, but from sanitized baby safe kid media that no overprotective mom could complain about

I can’t believe Ralph left, just like my dad.
It’s a shame they couldn’t have Ralph exit be the Oppenheimer/Barbie episode, seems like the last big movie event for a while with the whole writers strike for who knows how long, seems like it would be a fitting exit
Lol no he would ruin that discussion, and they know it. This is much, much more fitting.
@@zenleeparadise "People" like you are one the reasons Ralph is stepping down from the pod, I'm sure.
@@zenleeparadise Chill out man. No need for negativity, we have enough of that.
@@luiginastro8831 I'm not a person because I'm critical of the anti intellectualism that's rampant in my culture? Cool. You seem smart.
@@PurpleNoir he's literally the one who recommended these shitty movies but sure I'm being a dick for saying that this is a fitting note for his tenure to end on. 🙄
