They have to pay us for two extra hours for the CA labor law violation. If you go over ten hours they’re supposed to give you another lunch break but you don’t get that either. If you work 16 they have to pay you for 20 hours because of that. Don’t always judge the guard for looking tired, he may have been there much longer than you realize, most of us work for two or three different companies at the same time because no one likes security so we don’t get paid enough. It’s harder work and longer hours than you might think.
Not exactly.. I just finished the course today and they definitely do NOT want anyone doing this job 😂. I passed and I would say it is easy but there's a lot of stuff you need to learn and know regarding laws and regulations and responsibilities. And just knowledge on how to pick up on things the "average joe" would not in a public scenario.
I just got 40 hours a week overnight $15/hr security position, with no relevant experience, all I have to do is sit in my car, check into walkie and for the rest of the night I play games on my phone
Many of the richest American’s had minimal paying jobs at some point… They took what job was immediately available & kept looking for an opportunity. You’ve never been REALLY broke so don’t give broke people the advice of not working at all 🤬

Security sucks bro. Pays is low unless armed even then still not enough. Depending on the site you get its the most boring job you can ever do and nobody respects you're authority.
in house security and armed guards get paid more. a lot of the pay is based off the contact that was signed with the site. i was a in house security at a major hospital in chicago. no military or police exp. started off at $24 per hr. only thing i had to do was drive around and/or remove unruly patients or vistors. easy work for the pay . armed guards is different. u can easily get over 20 per hr at a bank or something. theyve increased a lot of guards pay since all the looting and theft. but u have to ask yourself, do u want to risk your life tryna defend some company. once i got my perc, that allowed me to start my own little security company. currently have 30 workers and 10 contracts. nice money, and growing. the low level security jobs are usually meant for young folks in school and/or older retired folks, just looking for an easy 2k per month
