I like the concept of the lion guard to help back up the power of the monarch, and I'm all for this being part of Scar's backstory and such. But there's still a couple things that bother me pertaining to this premise. 1) Disney completely missed out on the chance to fill in the plothole of the Outsiders' origin. They could've had Zira be a member of Scar's guard, and then after he was officially denied the throne for whatever reason, she kept on believing that he still deserved the position. It would've explained both how she knew Scar and why she was so emphatic about him being king. Scar being in the guard could also explain how and why he was able to make friends with the hyenas. So many ways to have actually resolved plot holes that have bothered fans for almost two decades... 2) But instead of doing this, they decided that Scar straight-up murdered his guard using this powerful weapon, then lost his powers in what must've been a spectacular fashion, and still somehow managed to escape any sort of punishment from anyone? Was everyone really that unobservant? Plus, this just seems like a really abrupt amp-up on Scar's fratricidal tendencies. I always figured that his resentment towards Mufasa was something that was just brooded on for years. Besides, Scar didn't seem to get the idea of outright killing Mufasa until he failed to get Simba killed via the hyenas. So for there to have been an earlier murder plot just seems to break this gradual progression. 3) Why is a cub being tasked with protecting the Pride Lands? Shouldn't there be an age restriction or something? Yeah, yeah, I know, he has superpowers... (More on that below.) 4) One of the most beautiful aspects of the original movie was the way the film handled the concepts of legacies, ancestry, generations, the whole shebang with regards to 'they live in you' and 'the circle of life.' The lions clearly have some sense of spirituality, or at least reverence for generations past in the same way a lot of traditional African cultures worship their ancestors. This is all to say that the previous films handled any supernatural elements very delicately; the spirits of kings past do not interfere with affairs in the 'real world,' and indeed, Mufasa's ghost may just have been Simba hallucinating. (Simba tries to talk to him again throughout the second movie and receives no response, so it clearly was just a one-off occurrence.) Point being, it's clear that there are boundaries between this real world and the spirit world that have been established already within the lion king universe. The Roar of the Elders breaks that balance in my opinion because it's so overt and in-your-face, largely because it invokes a lot more supernatural involvement in the lion king universe that doesn't really need to be there. These are just my thoughts on all of this. I'm still going to watch at least the movie next month, just to see how they've set up this new premise. Perhaps there's some more to it than we know. Also, now that we know that the series takes place during the timeline of _Simba's Pride_, it'll be interesting to see if/how they resolve the issue of Kion and his guard needing to disappear before Kovu and Kiara grow up.
Simba was saying Kion is too young but Kion used the roar and most of this can be updated now that it's been aboout 4 years since the show endee also Simba never hallcinated
+misspinkpunkykat Seems pretty South African to me. It's nowhere near as serious in tone as the original music, but it's not too bad of a deviation. I don't know if I like Beau Black's voice in this though... Sounds kind of like a younger Phil Collins than a musical successor to Lebo M. Also, keep in mind that reggae music is based off of various upbeat styles of African music.
ideas.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lion_King_IV I mean, Mheetu, Bhati, Kopa, Kovu, Kiara, Timon's Mother, Uncel Max, Rafiki, Zazu,Vitamin, Pridelanders, Outsiders (also known as Outlanders), Meerkat Colony, Animals,Twiga, Tiifu & 'Zuri will join the members of the Lion Guard for Kion, Bunga, Fuli, Beshte, & Ono to save Simba, Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa and return to the Pride lands before Von Drusko wipes out the entire Pride. right?
First! ...I thought the "kid" who's voicing Kaya is Aang from (The Last Airbender) XDDD,...And then i realized :-O ...Ohhh this Series is already over since 2008 and it can't be the voice of Zack tyler eisen cause he must be an adult now :-((( ;-))
Wow Disney, why do hyenas have to be the villains AGAIN? The Lion Guard is acting like hyenas aren't even apart of the oh-so "Great Circle of Life". What's worse is this show is aimed at little children, and do you remember that awful reputation the hyenas received when The Lion King came out? The same thing is going to happen again. Thanks a lot Disney. :(
Only for season 1,2, and 1 episode of season 3 of the lion guard janja and his clan were evil. But scar double crossed him and his clan and they later joined the good hyena clan, Jasiri Madoa and her hyenas. So I’m season 3 the hyenas turn good, and no hyenas were killed.
... So if Timone (or Pumbaa's) sister (or brother) is a honey badger. What the fuck, his mom is a meerkat. Oh my god, what, WHO IS THE FATHER????!!??!??! And I like how they actually speak Swahili regularly. It's Dora the explorer but Swahili the lion my guess.
UGH hu hu hu hu *sobs* This show had so much potential, then they HAD to dumb it down for kids. *head desk repeatedly* ... catch phrases for each character, cutie marks and magic cloud fathers are not helping this show at all for me. ... the back story to where Scar used to be the Lion Guard then he became corrupted - THAT'S A GOOD IDEA/STORY but now its dumb due to the company blasting the intelligence out of it with the "stupid child appeal" cannon. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrruuuugggghhhh! Come on people remember "KISS"! "Keep It Simple Stupid!" ... This show would have been great! But due to the extra stuff added to it, now I really don't want to see it. ... Children are not as stupid or brain dead as some of these entertainment companies believe. You don't have to dumb things down for them, they can understand A LOT more than you think ... seriously. (people, especially children, will become what they believe they are ... and if they are constantly treated as if they are stupid, then they will become stupid to fit that role ... maybe that's whats wrong with today's adult society - we are not encouraged to figure things out for ourselves anymore- we are treated as brainless sheep, and so we became sheeple; following the glow of our devices wherever the fun/easy is at.) ... 0_0 *looks at self* I need to get off UA-cam.
I thought it was going to be that, perhaps Simba came up with the idea for the Lion Guard in order to give Kion a sense of purpose, so that he too is loved and respected and won't go down the same path as Scar. That the Roar of the Elder's was more of a placebo affect than anything else. But no. Scar was the leader of the Lion Guard, too. AND the so called Roar of the Elder's went to his head and screwed with it. So he tells his cronies to help him kill Mufasa. That is the most stupid thing I've heard in a long time. Way to mess up the fandom more, Disney. The animation is good though, just that backstory... ew.
+GingerWizzard1994 I would have liked your idea more...I mean anyone who knows Scar's history knows he wasn't the friendliest even as Taka...It would have made more sense to have this thing of "African Animal Avengers" type group set up in case there are siblings born so one has an important job too.
+TheMRStudio Taka is canon as much as Kopa is, pls, noone really know how Scar was when he was young. if the producers sayed that he bacame evil because of the power of the roar of the elders i'm fine with that. it's not a bad story, and also gives a lot of space for new theory on how was the pride before tlk1
Would you send a letter to Walt Disney Animation Studios 500 S. Buena Vista Street Burbank, CA. 91521 to fix it because you see, Kiara is actually an adult and Eden Sonja Jane Riegel 34 years old which is why she an adult too? we want kiara as an adult. Right?
(Here is what I understand) So scar had gone evil because he had the roar of the elders. Then mufasa became king and scar was with the hyenas to kill mufasa. Simba leaves. Nala finds him with timon and pumbaa. Simba goes back with rafiki, Nala, timon, and pumbaa. Simba takes scar down. Kion is born. Kion dies by Zira. Kiara is born. Kiara goes in to the Outlands. In lion king 2 there wasn't any hyenas (not in Outlands or Elephant Graveyard). So where the hyenas in number 2 or did they go back to the graveyard and everyone thought they where all gone or is there a way underground that connects the elephant graveyard and the Outlands don't really understand it you ask. Watch Lion King where the hyenas where in the elephant graveyard 1st and in number 2 no sign of hyenas.
The theme song doesn't sound African themed as the previous ones i watched when younger should have introduced another Africa Language along with the few swahili words the have added.Maan 90s kids had awesome stuff but hey i love the story line and concept cant wait to check it out.
+Gabriella Sang The music itself definitely sounds African-influenced, specifically more upbeat South African music. (I keep imagining a guitar part that doesn't exist, so it sounds a bit like Ghanaian highlife in my head, but it's definitely African-influenced.) Having no Lebo M. does feel like a bit of a loss though. Because this is going to be more of a kiddie show, I'm fairly certain that most of the songs are going to be like this; little emotional weight, or at least not nearly as much as that of the earlier films. It's mostly just going to be upbeat, catchy stuff that'll be churned out to make sure the characters have something to sing at least once every other episode.
I can't wait :3 such a big lion king fan but I wish they would continue with the original series, and I have been wondering.... Is Kopa a made up character or does he actually have a part in The Lion King?
Kopa is Simba and Nala's first born in the original stories. But in the Disney version they changed it to Kiara. I wish they would've just done a prequel and told the story of Mufasa and Scar instead because this just confuses everything. :(
Kopa is not cannon but that's mainly because the lion king 2 director didn't know about Kopa but for now it is a theory that Kopa died before Kiara was born and the birth at the end of the Lion king and start of lion king 2 are seperate moments
@@AlylovesDP yes it is according to lion king 2. Kiara is the first born of simba and nala. At the end of lion king 1 it that cub looks like a male but that is actually Kiara. Not kion.
@@Sabrina-fz7pf I know that actually it was originally called fluffy later named kiara once it premiered . My point is I don’t like how this takes place it would’ve been better if Lion Guard took place after tlk2 instead of the middle . They made kiara way OOC
im confused because in the lion king 2 kiara was the only cub but now their is another cub named kion where did he come from im so comfused he wasent in the movie but should't kiara be older ? im still comfused i even feel like i have butterflys in my belly right about now if you know or you think you the awnser plz tell me.
+TTB-Kun i Know it can't be the same quality...but still i thought they would use a different design. by the way stay calm. I am not here to fight people with different opinions.
Now it looks fine, but the name Kion? It sounds like they just put a K on Lion. Why not actually try to find another swahili name, or even a word they can make into a name. Simba just means lion, and they turned it into a name.
Does anyone know if any members of "The Lion King" voice cast will reprising their roles in "The Lion Guard"? For example will Matthew Broderick be doing the voice of Simba? If anyone out there know could you please let me know? Thanks.
+Douglas Roth I know Ernie Sabella will definitely be back as Pumbaa & James Earl Jones as Mufasa, but based on DisneyWiki, following for our returning characters are: Simba (Rob Lowe), Nala (Gabriella Union), Kiara (Eden Riegel), Rafiki (Khary Payton), Zazu (Jeff Bennett), & Timon (Kevin Schon).
disneyinuyamon Thank you it's as shame they couldn't get Matthew Broderick (Simba), Moria Kelly (Nala), Nathan Lane (Timon), Robert Guillaume (Rafiki), Rowan Atkinson (Zazu) and Neve Campbell (Kiara).
Wish they'd work on that running animation... it's so stiff and is lacking in a sense of weight. A lot of it does look nice, some great motions and expressions there, it's just so irksome to see lazy animation in such an important and regularly used action.
I'm just saying, out of the five other lion heroes (Mufasa, Kovu and his own children AND wife) I have to say, Simba is kind of the loser. Like, they were all very capable and strong but him? He couldn't even roar and his children are more hardcore than him. Heck, he was more hardcore as a child. MORE. He still was a weaky.
He only couldn't roar when he was a cub and Kion can only roar because he has the roar, also when Kion tried to roar he failed like young Simba in the first movie
This background is created so this crappy plot will make sense. Your animation choice had to be Disney Junior why??? Oh so the new generation will have an idea about the era they live in: We do Not make classics anymore, instead we take classics and give them unnecessary spinoffs or continuations and hope the simplified nature of the show will be catchy. Like we don't have enough simple junk on tv for kids now (teen titans go, gumball, wabbit, (which I have yet to watch and don't intend to, but is Elmer even in the show?) be cool Scooby doo(nothing cool about it). Leave the classic stuff alone, that's why it's a classic because it withstands the test of the times no matter the generation. But hey, to each his own right?
+Damon Huitt There is no Kopa in official canon of Lion King movies. He's just a cub from those Six New Adventures- books wrote some other than Disney company and that's all. Kopa is not official neater those other characters like Ahadi, Uru or Ni who are only for that writers crations just for those books. Disney just gave promise to publish those books. That not make those characters or stories official. And before you go to that cub in the end of The Lion King, that cub was genderless cub called Fluffy by the animators of The Lion King until that cub turn to be Kiara when The Lion King 2: Simbas Pride was made. So Kira never had and she will never have brother named Kopa. She is the first born cub of Simba and Nala and the future queen of the Pride Lands. And all those stories about Kopa like "he's a first born cub of Simba and Nala", "he was in love with Vitani" or "he get killed by Zira" are just fan made theories nothing more. They are not official facts. If you like to keep Kopa in your own Lion King fandom it's okey, but he never was or never will be a part of the official Lion King canon because he's not made by Disney. So Disney have absolutely no reason to take him in and use him in their story.
You're welcome :) . I'm glad I can help you. And I'm glad you don't seem to think I'm a mean bastard or something when I told these facts about Kopa to you. I don't know are you Kopa fan or not but I have seen some Kopa fans asking that same queston about Kopa over and over again now because of The Lion Guard. And I'm been part of The Lion King fandomd so long I know some of those Kopa fans can be over going and they could get really upset and mad if anybody tell otherwise what they believe about Kopa.
+EpicAnimalsLOL Def Simba. And next to him is Rafiki...Their both confirmed to be on the show after all along with Kiara and Nala. Then again Mufasa is set to appear in Spirit Form also voiced by original actor James Earl Jones.
+kimiwhoowhoos +TheMRStudio I thought Simba was gonna look like this www.awn.com/sites/default/files/styles/original/public/image/attached/1025154-image-1-2.jpg?itok=I7aT4nof He doesn't have as big as a chin as the lion in this but idk it could very well be Simba lol
***** I certainly hope he looks like that...The pic in the background might just be a bit of a rougher version and that one a bit more cleaned up. They still have MONTHS of production and post production to go before Nov.
+TheMRStudio no, it's his wired smile that's make him look weird. Remember from that scene in we are one where him and Kiera are smiling at each Other? Yeah.
No no no no no, first off, this ignores lion king 2. Second, his name is supposed to be Kopa, You can't just make something up that ignores the other sequels, unless they decided to have another cub.
i still watch lion guard to this day

+misspinkpunkykat i know it irks wish it was authentic like the previous plus they could have sought African dialects
+misspinkpunkykat A lot of Jamaican reggae is based off of African music.
@Rodriguezh66 I still like it though.
Funny to think my brother is two years older than this show, I'm four years older...wow

I mean, Mheetu, Bhati, Kopa, Kovu, Kiara, Timon's Mother, Uncel Max, Rafiki, Zazu,Vitamin, Pridelanders, Outsiders (also known as Outlanders), Meerkat Colony, Animals,Twiga, Tiifu & 'Zuri will join the members of the Lion Guard for Kion, Bunga, Fuli, Beshte, & Ono to save Simba, Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa and return to the Pride lands before Von Drusko wipes out the entire Pride. right?
I love you'r song
First! ...I thought the "kid" who's voicing Kaya is Aang from (The Last Airbender) XDDD,...And then i realized :-O ...Ohhh this Series is already over since 2008 and it can't be the voice of Zack tyler eisen cause he must be an adult now :-((( ;-))
Wow Disney, why do hyenas have to be the villains AGAIN?
In the first episode they introduced a good hyena and the theme was about not judging all hyenas so there you go
good song to a cartoon opening, i just would liked hear it with better sound
I have the game (The Lion King) on Super Nintendo
...
So if Timone (or Pumbaa's) sister (or brother) is a honey badger.
What the fuck, his mom is a meerkat.
Oh my god, what, WHO IS THE FATHER????!!??!??!
And I like how they actually speak Swahili regularly. It's Dora the explorer but Swahili the lion my guess.
kion is DRAONBORN
No puedo ver esto sin imaginarme que el Ford este ya tenia a la Rana en su mente y como arruino el final de todo
which does everyone like best lion king or lion guard i like them both btw im a 13 year old but i like it
Can't wait till November , one month away
I'm so glad Disney brought my favorite movie back!
Lion Guard'll Return And I want to be a Voice Actor of Dariyon The Clouded Leopard.
Right?
I suppose. How so?
+AlylovesDP by mailing
+Emilio Polanco ok
Ok
I hope the dialogue isnt this bad this entire film...
lion guard canna celine kion sun voice
So i'm gonna guess either they somehow are gonna explain why we don't see Kion in any of the events in The Lion King 2, or... they didn't happen.
Because he want born yet.
And he was at the tree of life
so the roar of the elders is basically the force?
No it's the dragon shout from Skyrim ya now Fus Ro Dah
Damn this came out 8 years ago?
But it's not hand drawn :(
That didn’t matter it’s a fun kids show that I actually enjoy
Kion seems like Kopa (One of the three Simba's sons in the books).
+krismagix not at all, he seems like a young mufasa while kopa was an exact copy of young simba
+WHAATEVEN ohhhhhh, ok thanks :)
Kopa is not cannon but that's mainly because the lion king 2 director didn't know about Kopa but for now it is a theory that Kopa died before Kiara was born and the birth at the end of the Lion king and start of lion king 2 are seperate moments
Hi I like your video
The hyenas should be friends with them, they did turn their backs on scar and helped the pride lands.
kiara is kion's big sister
No he’s not he is 1 year younger than her
@@Sabrina-fz7pf not according to LK2
@@AlylovesDP yes it is according to lion king 2. Kiara is the first born of simba and nala. At the end of lion king 1 it that cub looks like a male but that is actually Kiara. Not kion.
@@Sabrina-fz7pf I know that actually it was originally called fluffy later named kiara once it premiered . My point is I don’t like how this takes place it would’ve been better if Lion Guard took place after tlk2 instead of the middle . They made kiara way OOC
@@AlylovesDP well they decided to keep the circle of life going so they made a new character Kion is the last and only son of simba and nala and yeah.
Lion Guard Annna Celine Kion Sun Voice
Lion Guard Kion Sun Voice
im confused hes kiaras brother right
He's Simba and Nala's second born so he is Kiara's little brother. :)
yay
What's with Disney and special powers?
Make a seaman four
im confused because in the lion king 2 kiara was the only cub but now their is another cub named kion where did he come from im so comfused he wasent in the movie but should't kiara be older ? im still comfused i even feel like i have butterflys in my belly right about now if you know or you think you the awnser plz tell me.
Nice try...but i think the animations are way to simple and without the typical lion king detail/love....too bad
I feel the same way. I wish it had more of the original lion king look like the movies
+MiniAjax oh, yes, you expected the same details of a 45 million dollar budget film, in a direct to tv movie and series.... that's reeeeally resonable
+TTB-Kun i Know it can't be the same quality...but still i thought they would use a different design. by the way stay calm. I am not here to fight people with different opinions.
It was a mix of 3d and 2d, I can see they put a lot of effort in to shading rather than details and markings.
+MiniAjax That cat WASNT a cheetah!!
Now it looks fine, but the name Kion? It sounds like they just put a K on Lion. Why not actually try to find another swahili name, or even a word they can make into a name. Simba just means lion, and they turned it into a name.
Because lion means leader in Swahili and Kion is a leader. Of the lion guard.
Actually, Kion is short for Kiongozi, which in Swahili means Leader. He fits this role really well and he lives up to his name.
Umm ok WARING FOR ME never go in te outlands.ok
Is this a movie or episodes series?
+Rabia Afzal both. movie on disney channel in november, new series in 2016
First theres a movie then a series
Yes
Chex
Yes
Kion cutie mark anyone? xD
Lol ikr!
Wish they'd work on that running animation... it's so stiff and is lacking in a sense of weight. A lot of it does look nice, some great motions and expressions there, it's just so irksome to see lazy animation in such an important and regularly used action.
Where Was That ?
I'm just saying, out of the five other lion heroes (Mufasa, Kovu and his own children AND wife) I have to say, Simba is kind of the loser.
Like, they were all very capable and strong but him? He couldn't even roar and his children are more hardcore than him.
Heck, he was more hardcore as a child.
MORE.
He still was a weaky.
He only couldn't roar when he was a cub and Kion can only roar because he has the roar, also when Kion tried to roar he failed like young Simba in the first movie
JESUS
so does simba's daughter from lion king 2 exist in this or nah?
as far as I know she does.
david chavez yes. Kiara is in it, she is first in line to be queen.
I know right?! Like where is Kiara???
2000000000000000000x
Speed 2000000000000000000000000000x
what the name of the songs
The first one is called a beautiful day the second one sung was look out here comes the lion guard
@Rodriguezh66 wdym?
that puppy is mufasa or simba or koppa? please someone explain to me!!! 😰

But hey, to each his own right?
what about kopa
Thanks very muck that explains everything
You're welcome :) . I'm glad I can help you. And I'm glad you don't seem to think I'm a mean bastard or something when I told these facts about Kopa to you. I don't know are you Kopa fan or not but I have seen some Kopa fans asking that same queston about Kopa over and over again now because of The Lion Guard. And I'm been part of The Lion King fandomd so long I know some of those Kopa fans can be over going and they could get really upset and mad if anybody tell otherwise what they believe about Kopa.
16:28 Who's that lion in the background? It's not Mufasa is it?
***** Hmm I don't think so, it might be a weird looking Simba maybe? xD
*****
I certainly hope he looks like that...The pic in the background might just be a bit of a rougher version and that one a bit more cleaned up. They still have MONTHS of production and post production to go before Nov.
+TheMRStudio no, it's his wired smile that's make him look weird. Remember from that scene in we are one where him and Kiera are smiling at each Other? Yeah.
the animations look off, hopefully it wont look like that when it premiers. What I mean is that it doesn't look like an original Lion King movie.
@disneychannel
No no no no no, first off, this ignores lion king 2. Second, his name is supposed to be Kopa, You can't just make something up that ignores the other sequels, unless they decided to have another cub.
+lolaminer5 *watches rest of video* oh.....nevermind
Kopa isn’t cannon he is only in the lion king books. Kiara is the first child of simba and nala and lion is 1 year younger than her.
I disagree with this simba never had a son why r they showing it know
Well you know it may be a spin off and they showed the new cub in one of the movies
@disneysucks
