The truth is somewhere in between. It's so easy to say "they still said it... They still did it" but there's so many other ways to do a shady edit: -Taking a comment about one person and editing it to sound like it's about someone else. -Cutting parts of multiple conversations and putting them back together to make someone say something they didn't (literally the reason they make them wear the same confessional outfit now) -Cutting entire parts of conversations out -Editing out all the good parts about one queen or editing out all the bad parts about another. Or just editing a queen out altogether. -Using shady sound effects constantly on one queen to make the audience feel the way they want about them -Not showing that Ru is not always nice or "motherly" off camera -Putting the wrong reaction shots or editing in silence to make it look like a queen is bombing -Putting pressure on queens to have a storyline or serve up drama or be booted -Literally telling the queens what they want them to do or or say or risk being booted or not showcased -Making things that were jokes sound serious or like insults Nobody truly knows what they signed on for until they are they. Because of non-disclosure contacts, the boys bits that slip out here and there are just the tip of the iceberg. Also let's not forget the racism, hate, and death threats people get for how they were portrayed on the show when people don't understand reality TV is not actually real.
100%. We can, and should be blaming the edit, blaming the producers, and blaming the contract when it comes to the way they actively abuse contestants and judges. They know controversy breeds engagement and views, so they create villains where they don’t exist.
Exactly! The break before commercials always frustrate me. They show someone making a comment with another's extreme reaction. Then after the commercial, you realize it was said to someone else...and that person's reaction was about something else. I personally love the seasons that revolved around friendship, mentoring or positivity. I mean Adore, Bianca, Bob, Alyssa, Shangela, Pandora, Monet...obviously the list could go on. Then look at the notorious S7. That edited mess was a fiasco, yet some of my most loved queens are from that season. But that freaking edit, design, storyline, whatever, just didn't give us the initial enthusiasm we have for our fave queens. So yeah, there is definitely shady editing!

I feel a bit of this is aimed at Tamisha because I’ve heard other queens blame the edit, but Tamisha took it a step further and said it was “scripted” and then the “unbothered” moment felt aimed at her as well because while she’s complaining about someone not liking her outfits she’s also making like 50 videos and posts stating how “unbothered” she is… Over and over.
There are so many queens and even judges (canada) that spoke about production manufacturing personalities that have nothing to do with real people. Did they said what they said? Yeah. But was it cut in half and put out of context? It sure was. RuPaul is disgusting for making this song right now.
The production actually DO screw over some queens when it comes to editing. Phi Phi/Jeremy is probably the prime example of that. Though he was extremely rude on his season. The magical and random “wardrobe changes” that would happen with those copy and pasted confessionals footage.

Not Rupaul making this song when you know you did Max dirty 👀 Editing is all about context. If you weren’t about doing them dirty, you wouldn’t require the same outfit across confessionals.
Gurrrrrl I know. Max’s career never ever ever recovered after that 1 minute on the show. (That’s sarcasm by the way.) Maybe it’s because YOU keep reviving it? How about we Stan Max’s work since the show instead of constantly dragging them back into a 1 minute awkward moment that you can’t seem to get over... almost like you have a vendetta against Max. Can someone with musical talent mix this plus Anitra/Lux/Sasha/Mitress's verses? Pretty please? I will be forever grateful and forever play that version and include it on my everyday listen youtube playlist. I swear.
The irony is that the show won an Emmy for unscripted series, but it's so heavily edited you can't barely trust anything is actually happening.
Well, if we are honest, the queens are the ones who create the material without a script to follow, the one that the production does the dirty work is a separate point.
Not Rupaul making this song when you know you did Max dirty 👀
Editing is all about context.
I’m sure they’d appreciate it if you let that go honey.
@@powder-blue The comments on this vid show exactly how much further dragrace fans look than the show. They don't. So tone down your expectations of this toxic fanbase sis.
@@torteflorte I have zero expectations of this fanbase, SIS. That’s sort of the point. I love you.
