    In today's video I am taking you with me for a relaxed afternoon spent in Kennebunk, Maine. One of our stops is Snug Harbor Farm, if you have never been I would highly recommend this beautiful Shop/Nursery. Snug Harbor inspired me to go home and do some of my own planting, and I will share with you what Mark bought for me as a Christmas gift. Have a beautiful week friends!!

    Fun video - someone might already have mentioned, but the horse head logo on your slippers reflect the fact that a Haflinger is a breed of small horse, originally developed in Austria and northern Italy, and still popular for driving. Hadn’t seen the slippers before, so I was glad to learn about them and will check them out. 😊

    Can’t wait to see how your little greenhouse does. Those slippers are just too cute. I love anything with hearts on them. I’m a retired nurse (worked 40 years in an OR) so I know all about feet, legs and back problems. I’m always looking for a comfortable but supportive shoe. Thanks for the tip. Loved all the scenery. We have to wait until after May 10th to plant flowers as we always have a cold spell around that time in Virginia. 😊

      Wow, you definitely understand sore feet being a Nurse for that long! My middle Daughter has been working as an ER Nurse for about a year and is loving it. I give you both credit, it's not a job I could do, it takes a special person for sure! Have a great rest of your day Karen!

    Hi Carla, thankyou for taking us out and about with you again. Maine looks so beautiful. Marks birthday gift was a great idea....looking forward to hearing about your results with it. I suffer with plantar facilitis so looked up those slippers immediately.....they sell them in the UK too...hurray. They have some great designs and look very hard wearing too. We have sunshine here in Cheshire, UK today ☀️Have a great week x

      Plantar fasciitis is so much more common than I realized, which is why I wanted to share these slippers. So far, I am really enjoying them. Enjoy that beautiful sunshine and have a great day!!

    Hi Carla, thanks for taking us on the road trip. Loved seeing the ocean. Good luck with your indoor gardening. Reminds me when I tried growing strawberry tomato plants inside. They did great till I put them outside on the patio and they all died. I think they went into shock. lol. Loving my Sea Garden scents. Not overpowering, just right. Thanks❤

      LOL, I got a chuckle out of your plant Story. We will see how this works....fingers crossed. I'm so glad you're enjoying your purchases! The light clean scent is what I love about Sea Garden, yet people always comment when I wear it so others are smelling it too. Enjoy and have a great Sunday evening!

    Very nice Christmas gift from Mark, unique. It's fun getting gifts like this. I love your screened in porch. I wanted to redo ours from jalousie to just glass, but I think I will keep a while longer as is because I like opening the louvers for cross ventilation in a breeze. Nothing like a screened porch. Love you planter and those candles I know smell great. My azaleas are just about gone except for the large purple ones along with hyacinths and petunias. Love your walk about to see what is growing. A little over 80 degrees here in Hanover Va. today. It's hot for me.

      Wow, it's fun to hear how the flowers are in different parts of the Country. Amazing that your Azaleas are almost done! Thanks for watching Betsy and have a great Sunday!

    Hi, just wanted to let you know that I love it when you take us with you on your various New England back road trips; and to be able to see all the quaint vintage homes and shops in all the cozy little towns. Your videos and the background music selections are calm and relaxing. Your home and garden is so warm and inviting. Love the potting stand!

    Gorgeous Maine, such a lovely place Carla… sweet little duck doing his yoga, I love animals & wildlife, I often put a long video of relaxing music with a wildlife video on when I’m pottering around my house, the photography is stunning! Thank you for sharing the shoes, I to have suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past quite badly, it is such a debilitating issue, the only treatment is good orthotics you must must wear all the time, your feet should always have support. I think soon we are in for some hot weather, can’t wait, we have had buckets of rain this spring. Thank you for this lovely video Carla, kind regards…..☺️

      I'm glad you enjoyed it Jean! I couldn't agree more about needing good shoes and needing to wear them all the time. That is why I like these slippers, firstly because they have a hard sole and the support is really good....it helps my knees also. I just wanted to share simply because I had never heard of this brand before. Have a great Sunday Jean!

    Great video Carla! Now that you have been in New England for a few years and traveled all over, if you could live anywhere in New England, would you still pick New Hampshire? Is there another state that you have grown to love maybe even more? Am always trying to decide if we will ever move!

    • @mynewenglandstory
      @mynewenglandstory  2 місяці тому +1

      Oh boy, that's a tough question. In my opinion, other than Maine, these States are pretty small.....yet, they're SO different. I travelled Mass. the most because I always thought that is where I would live, but Mark's job brought us to NH and now that I have lived and travelled here I really love NH. I love that within 1 hr I can be in the Mountains, the Ocean, VT, Boston, Maine etc and I find the people here so nice. I would say it truly depends on what you are looking for. I DO love all of the quaint Towns in Mass. I'm sorry, I know this doesn't help especially coming from someone still starry eyed over New England as a whole. lol. Enjoy this beautiful weather we're having this week!!

      What you describe is the circle of thought I always go through. The easiness within Rhode Island to access all the different types of landscapes other than mountains. We had an opportunity to relocate to Maine two weeks ago for my husband‘s work. We all check out because we weren’t sure we could handle the super long winter and all the extra snow. Just fun to always think about a new adventure somewhere a little bit different maybe?!

    • @mynewenglandstory
      @mynewenglandstory  2 місяці тому

      @@seasaltseeker401 True. I don't know where in Maine you were looking, but I will say regarding the snow I am so impressed with how great they are on clearing the roads here so quickly and they stay on top of it. When I was a child growing up in MI we got a bit of snow (not like this) but through the years we no longer got the amounts of snow in lower MI.....more ice, so I was delighted with the amount of snow here. I know, I'm weird. It's just so beautiful covered in white vs dreary grey.

      @@seasaltseeker401 Also, when we decided to move we told ourselves we will give it 1 year, we can always go back. Well, you know the rest of the Story.....NO regrets! lol

    Hi Carla, Thank you for taking this Southerner with you on this cozy and peaceful road trip. Within a hour and a half from us (and where I grew up) are the beautiful sugar white beaches of the Gulf Coast.
    As, I told you before we have a Lilac Point Siamese named Sadie. She is actually blind in one of her eyes. We also have a Rag Doll Siamesse named June, and a Chocolate Point Siamese name Keith. I believe your cat Sadie is a Ragdoll, too. You are a blessing to the kindred souls who watch you! Have a peaceful week.
