I’m getting so fed up of people saying he’s got us further than any other manager…. are you so naive and delusional that you can’t see Southgate has had the easiest routes to the final that any manager has ever had. That luck will run out, probs from every tournament from now on… so do you honestly believe when we have better quality in front of us, you expect us to get to finals in the future? No chance, Southgate has an awful record against top teams, this was the best chance we’ve had in the last 2 European Championships, he’s already failed in one through his awful tactics, will it be the same today? I hope not, but it’s hard not see The Spanish out class us in tactics and beautiful football. We’ve shown cracks all tournament, and now we risk the first major top team opening them right up.
Which route was England taking when they weren’t getting out of the group stage and not even qualifying?
Delusional is when you think England has been blasting the small countries and losing the top ones before Southgate. When was England even a big tournament team. We just have the names Southgate has brought us huge expectations and fortune.

@@twinsprofile Before 2018, England national team was a disgrace. Its unacceptable to have club clics when you're representing your country. So yes, Southgate deserves some credit for his man management and inspiring his players to battle for him.

@@FrancisDietPodcast Many people back Gareth, they are just typically calm, moderate and sensible (like Gareth himself) so you won't often hear them shouting about it on youtube. Yes the football is often boring and yes we've needed moments of individual brilliance, but you can't argue with his record and the way he changed the team when he came in.

Gareth Southgate has been lucky. The only reason why he has been successful is because of the talent of players that we have at our disposal. It's nothing to do with him. It's everything to do with the players. He has no tactical awareness. He has no tactical prowess. We are where we are because of the talented players that we have. If we win it's got nothing to do with Southgate. A better manager would have won the world cup in 2018 And the Euros in 2021. Southgate is lucky that for the first time in probably more than 50 years that the England squad is actually better than Brazil I have never seen that in my lifetime. He is blessed to be an England manager at a time when some of the best players in football just happen to be English.
what about the golden generation? Why didn't they win on their own accord if managers have nothing to do with it.... Really.

Previous managers like hodgson, capello and mclaren were total failures with England don't get me wrong, but that's a very low bar so doing better than those guys isn't success, it's just not failure.
@@blueleaf1717 Answer me genuinely. Was Greece far better than England when they won the 2004 Euros? Was Costa Rica far better than England in 2014 when they knocked England out? Was Iceland far better than England when they knocked England out in 2016? Was Russia, Macedonia, Croatia, Andorra and Estonia far better than England when England could not even qualify for the 2008 euros from that group? Yes there have been times when England was knocked out by France or Brazil but they have failed even against weaker oppositions for a long time. It's a big myth when fans like you go on about "England was losing to superior opposition"... Don't take my word for it, go and check for your self in the past two decades how many times they failed in tournaments against bang average teams

And again when you talk about previous winners who had no better squads than England, I would argue they actually did have better teams even if they didn't have big name players like England (who most were massively overrated anyway tbf) we always had the players but not the teams.
Again just to reiterate I'm not claiming Southgate is a 'failure', I'm just claiming he isn't successful either he's just an average manager.
So now let me ask you a few genuine questions: Do you think subbing off Saka against France last world cup for STERLING was good tactics?
Do you think waiting until the 78th frikking minute to make your first sub is the move of a master tactition?
Do you think making the EXACT same decisions EVENTUALLY as every other Tom Dick and Harry on the street has been screaming at you to make long before you actually make it, is good management?
Do you think going into a tournament with a team you have been leading for 8 years and not even knowing your best system or players, is good management?
