you are in for a RIDE. He raps, sings, beat boxes, plays guitar, piano, bass. Sings like an ANGEL and he even beat boxes! More talent in Ren than I've ever seen in another musician. EVER.

What other performer is there who can drop a soulful mashup, a seventies style rock number, a hip hop bouncer, and a modern classic piano solo all within a month? Is he a wonder boi, or what? Why we love Ren….
This location is in Calgary. An old fossil site performed in 2023. He was sitting at his piano just messing around with some chords and such and this song just flowed out of him. This is in memory of his other longntime friend Callum Mackay who passed 6 months after his other long time friend Joe. Tbey all hung around each other. The last time he saw Callum was at Joe's funeral!.

Disco Doc’s reaction / background history video makes this hit even harder. Now I can actually picture the turbulence of the sea 🌊 The story is even more tragic than I imagined. I cannot fathom how Ren dealt with the loss of 2 of his best friends at such a young age and then spent years battling an insidious disease that tried to strip away his life and his dreams. And yet, he’s remained so kind and positive and hopeful for a better tomorrow. What an inspiration.
I’m so glad he was able to channel his emotions into a composition for Callum. This could easily be a movie soundtrack. And I love seeing him at the piano. He said he’s been playing since he was 13 or 14. I think it’s where he goes when he wants to escape.
This makes me even more excited for the next album!!

Drumheller is a town on the Red Deer River in the badlands of east-central Alberta, Canada. It is located 110 kilometres (68 mi) northeast of Calgary and 97 kilometres (60 mi) south of Stettler.
About 2 hours and a bit from me!!! We go just about every year!

Love that you reacted to Ren’s tribute piano composition Jesse. It’s a movingly beautiful piece. Ren has such a delicate touch when he plays. Callum drowned accidentally along with his friend who tried to save him. It was very sad indeed. I know the coastline where he died and this piece captures it and the freedom and expansiveness of the atmosphere of the North Wales coastal landscape. Yet like you say the piece also captures an angelic feeling of flying and soaring.
This is my favorite piece of his now! I thought it was beautiful!
In ADHD it is possible to be become hyper-focussed in a particular moment or hyper-fixated in a longer task. Ren has acknowledged that he does this

Same! Last summer I spent a whole night sorting stones I’d gathered at the beach by size and color, only to come back to myself thinking ‘wtf am I doing?! This is so stupid ‘ and then I dumped all of it in a bowl which was so much more stupid as I was almost done but instead all I had to show for a whole nights hyperfocus was pain in my neck and back and a bowl full of stones looking exactly the same as before I started…..
I can concur completely. Experienced one myself. Total mystery.
