Holographic Purple Resin Geode Opal Experiment by SamanthasDoodles

- This video is my take on the holographic opal trend that was popularized by Crystal Ma. I put my own spin on it by incorporating the technique into one of my geode paintings. For this attempt I didn't use any silicone oil even though it's been a staple of my past few tutorials. The rest of the materials will be listed below. If you enjoyed this video please like and subscribe to my channel or leave a comment and let me know what you think!
I mixed the materials off camera, but used Art Resin (a 1:1 ratio, stir for 3 minutes) and mixed in acrylic paint (less than 10% of color to resin) and other additives. Check out my Pink Resin Geode Tutorial for a full visual explanation of the resin mixing process.
Here's my go to list of resin art materials: samanthasdoodl...

Disclaimer: recreate these techniques at your own risk. These tutorials are in no way the only ways to work with these materials, but rather they are what has worked for me in my experience. I am not an expert. What works for some people may not work for others. Please do your own research on the materials and their safety requirements - resin in particular can be dangerous if used incorrectly. Be sure to read and follow ALL manufacturers' instructions and use the appropriate safety equipment, proper ventilation, & protective clothing.

Hi Samantha - I just discovered you and am now a fan..
Beautiful art piece..
Any issues with the plastic protruding?
Nope - the resin holds them in place 😁 thanks for watching!!
Just curious how much it cost to do this project if I’m starting with nothing at all? Can I get my supplies at one store?
Hi Rachel, the materials are listed in the description for all of my videos. Those links should help you get an idea. 💙
Hi, Did you add hardener also in resin or only resin in acrylic colors thanks
Resin and hardener- it is a 2 part product. Otherwise you will have an uncured mess. That's why it is important to read the instructions with whatever resin you use.
