What is the point of having a long lead from the main unit to the touchscreen panel and then a mic with a short lead that has to plug into the main unit. does not make sense. it would have been much better to plug into the touchscreen panel

Interesting! There have been several posts about this radio and they all contradict each other. This is the first with a view of the unit which clearly shows only one antenna connection, so no diversity receive. I didn't see a way to connetc the mic to the control head like others had said you could. There seems to be an insinuation that an external GPS could be connected. I hope so, because in many US states we cannot put the control head on top of the dash and I doubt the GPS will work very well if the head doesn't have a good line of site to the sky.

E minha impressão ou a tela parece ser resistiva?! Existem vezes durante este vídeo que o operador toca na tela é ela não responde!? Vejo isso acontecer inúmeras vezes em celulares de 3º categoria Que não acredito aqui ser o caso.
(And my impression or the screen appears to be resistive? There are times during this video the operator touches the screen it does not respond? I see this happen countless times on cell 3rd grade What does not believe to be the case here.)

Beaware that when you down load the repeater list from their site you will find that some of the repeater offsets are wrong, that tells me they don`t care ? if you are not aware in will not work in a month of sundays oh dear ICOM....

Why doesnt Icom lowering there price's for d-star in the EU. I like D-star but many people are selling there d-star radio's and switching over to Hytera DMR. Also the service from Icom online is hard to find.
Lowering the price can be extremely efficient, or loosing the market over the better voice quality and cheaper Hytera DMR , cs700.

The awful display killed an otherwise fine radio. It is VERY difficult to see, difficult to read, and has miserable contrast. Where the Icon designers drunk when they approved this display?
Funny, an $800 dualband radio and judging by the very poor display touch response, it looks like Icom have adopted an old unresponsive, resistive style touch screen. Uggghhh horrible! Imagine trying to fiddle with that silly unresponsive display while driving! And, come on Icom, in the grand scheme of things, very few of us want/need D-Star. Those of us who don't want D-Star capability certainly don't want to pay the $250 price premium for a mode that we will never use. Think I'll stick with my IC-208's thank you very much.
