They are putting their arms up to be tickled. Your government never stops making up lies. Who are you again?
Do you guys actually know that if it raises its arms it actually tries to defend itself!!! That's torture
No. That's a stupid myth.
Do you actually know, that a day light hurts the eyes of slow loris? They sleep during day and feed at night, that is why their eyes are so big. Do you also know, that they have toxic venom on their arms, and that is why their teeth are usually removed, so they do not hurt an owner, and their arms are raised because they try to protect themselves? Do you know, that they walk long distances in nature and their food is variable? Something an owner can never provide! Besides, they are endangered species, meaning, they are going to get extinct most probably and illegal pet trade is prohibited by law and one of the main causes of their decreasing numbers. Do you know, that sharing this video, you support all this?
Dan C. Mate just shut your fucking mouth ya fucking idiot, these wild animals aren't meant as pets and these types of videos are really disturbing!
+Dan C. mygh? says the man who can't even visit a wiki page! Loris raising arms is a sign of distress as are LIGHTS. They are nocturnal!
Greatest Ever when someone has a lion as a pet, it's clearly ok? Or a pet Cobra even though they barely last a month.

All these animals were illegally and unethically caught from the wild. Slow lorises are declining rapidly in the wild. So although cute, his video is extremely misleading
You don't know that. There is such thing as people who rescue animals. Some can't be returned to the wild. Education.
This is true. Anyone who denies it just wants their daily dose of cute youtube things, which is selfish.
Not to mention some people who capture these animals to sell them as pets also clip their fangs, which renders them useless if returned to the wild.
All slow rises that are caught to be saved are handled by professionals. In this video is clear that it was not a professional and in the description it says that they tickle the animals. For these animals to be tickle is a torture.
@@mbp7060 yeah but educated people know to not tickle them

Am I the only one that noticed a lot of them had their arms up? If you don't know already, they have something toxic in their armpits, they arent "stretching" to be "adorable", they don't like being pets, at all.
Stick to being bread. Leave the animal raising to the adults 😁
The slow loris is like, "Keep right on rubbing these elbows, you'll be violently sick soon".
Poor babies. they don't deserve this. ;-;

@@animalaction3022 yup I did
Maybe it’s from a rescuer?
Looks like a wild, exotic animal that belongs in a tropical rainforest
It is. The only good thing that could possibly come from this compilation is the chance that people will want them and cause illegal pet traders to breed more in order to meet demand, thus raising their population.
Stop using your brain instead of emotions and animal rights banter.... you're going to confuse the minions. ;)
Humans were wild animals at one point, too.
Joe Bramblett well there’s not technically domestic and wild animals, there’s only animals adapted to live with humanity and those that aren’t.

Absolutely annoyed at the fact that people think this is cute when these animals are actually in fear. Unbelievable. THIER ARMS BEING UP ISNT A SIGN OF RELAXATION PEOPLE!!!! THEY ARENT HUMANS !
So what if it raises its arms? If it really felt threatened why aren’t they trying to lick their glands? They don’t need teeth to lick glands.
They lost so many brain cells from not doing there research
@@welbiltmafia brah fuck off
They are cute indeed, but they're cuter in their natural environment.
Loris' perception of pain is similar to human. Thus, for most tickling isn't a torture - like in humans, it's an individual matter. Some enjoy tickling, and some hate it. If a slow loris feels bothered by tickling, they actually try to bite (despite having most of his teeth removed). They also try to (slowly) run away from the human.
Raising arms is an unspecific reaction - not only to pain or fear, but also to something alien. Tickling, stroking, combing - that's something unknown in the wilderness, that's why lorised feel confused and insecure. Thus, they stick to familiar behaviors, that give them feeling of security - they either raise their arms, or grab nearest objects (like human finger).
Most lorises on this videos are relaxed, they even expose their dewlaps to be stroked. Alongside eyes and genitals, throat is one of the most vulnerable regions in most animals, that's why scared loris bends its head. Exposing a dewlap is an act of uttermost trust. These particular individuals raise their arms to be stroked *here* as well. But some others are obviously scared, like the one "getting acquainted" with a dog - it covers its head with it's arms.
Also, if a loris persistently grabs the umbrella (on some other video), it's NOT because it wants to be a little elegant, but because it thinks of it as a branch. Grabbing things is an instinct, the same as raising arms. The loris with an umbrella is visibly confused and a bit scared.
This is literally the only comment I’ve seen which is level-headed, using facts and common sense.
Guys! We can't let his go on let's post videos/comments with the hashtag
#SaveTheSlowLorises
Right. Because hashtags do so much good protecting a slow loris and keeping it in the wild where it gets absolutely wiped out by half a dozen different predators hourly. So let's not have them raised in loving environments at all. 👍🙄
@@lesglover6515 Dude the exotic pet trade is literally the main reason they're on the verge of extinction. Humans cannot possibly provide a "loving environment" anyway for these nocturnal creatures with an extremely specialized diet. And even if we somehow could, if the attempt to do so is going to result in their extinction eventually, then they'd still be much better occasionally falling prey to a predator in nature. Like do you even hear yourself?
@@mchevre like,yeah. I do 🤟

Slow Loris aren't adapt for being pets, for them it's a torture and in facts they raise their arms for defending themselves and often they have their teeth cut for avoiding them to bite with the venom in their elbows
No, you just keep repeating a stupid myth. Lorises, like most other animals, raise their arms for lots of reasons. If you want to know what a loris looks like when it feels threatened just google "loris defensive posture"
Dan C. Already saw that, and in this video there are a lot of lorises scared

Dan C. Its not a myth they have poison under their arms
as much as i'd love these as a pet. This is cruel and unfair. tickling is torture.
That is horrible, slow Lorises are so small they put there arms up as a defense mechanism to look bigger with you 'tickle them' it scares them putting an arm up is to say "tickle me" it means "Please stop". They get there teeth clipped leaving them vulnerable and are currently going exstincted, because of the illegal trading of them. You may think you've done your research. I own a chinchilla and j still do research ehen I see one abnormal thing in her routine. You shouldn't own these. They belong in the wilderness, please..
Did you know chinchillas are extinct in some areas and critically endangered in all others? (Google "Chinchilla status")They are thriving in captivity thanks to, first the fur trade and now the pet trade. You are part of conserving an endangered species. Don't hate on others who keep endangered exotics. PS The video about tickling is AR propaganda... the people who made it would not approve of your pet chinchilla either. ;)
Elizabeth Buddy - Safari Bob's right only seeing this now but I don't want any smart shit okay. I own a chinchilla and yes I know chinchillas are endangered and extinct in some areas but I didnt just go to a pet store and buy one cuz I wanted one, sure the animal intrigued me but the only reason I own one is because she was rehomed to me. The old owner had bad conditions and all sorts of other animals. My chinchillas sister passed away before she was rehomed to me. She had gotten an pneumonia...so great sorry to you if I own a chinchilla who's happier where she lives now..
So what if it raises its arms? If it really felt threatened why aren’t they trying to lick their glands? They don’t need teeth to lick glands.

Well you learned the trust behind these deadly animals
Ok, I know all of you guys are mad and disappointed at this person/video, but probably, the owner didnt really know what there doing, they probably thought that tickling them is what these animals want, but its the complete opposite of what they want, they dont want to be tickled, its raising its arms not for tickling, but as a defense mechanism against tickling. And they probably didnt know that bright light hurts them, so, if your planning to get one of these animals, keep them in a dark place and in a large cage, or no cage at all, but I think its better if you dont have one of these animals anyways, there not meant to be pets, if you want a pet, get an animal that can be a pet, like a cat, dog, fish, etc. If it could be possible, can you please return them into the wild, they will be more happier there, but if your not planning that, you can at least keep it in a dark place, large cage, or no cage, and keep them free from tickling, I hope you listen =)
Those poor animals being tortured by stupid human beings.. ;'
Everyone thinking that the Loris is soooo cute laying with its arms behind its head, it's actually fucking torture to the animal. The only defense mechanism a Slow Loris has is the venom it secretes from its arms, which it licks and then bites. But since captive Loris' teeth are clipped, the only instinct they have left is to raise their arms when they are handled or groomed by humans. They also become anxious and defensive out in the light as well because they're nocturnal. Please don't propagate the captive pet trade of this beautiful species
The posinose!!!👩👧👧😱
These are venomous, the remove their teeth and nails so they can’t hurt you. This is torture. When they raise their hands it’s trying to defend itself
I believe UA-cam asked people with Slow Loris's to please voluntarily REMOVE the video's because it is causing people to want them and when people want them they are being taken from the wild & then they break out their incisors (this is a venomous animal) with nail clippers and they are sold into the pet trade. Over half of those who are captured do not survive the capture. The species is now endangered just BECAUSE they are so cute. Yes, they are cute and it is going to cause their extinction. This is also a nocturnal animal and it has been shown by zoologists that captive Slow Loris's who are forced to be awake during the day and sleep at night (simply for the convenience of their owners) only live half their normal life span so keeping them awake during the day is killing them slowly.
It is criminal in the US and most European countries to even be caught having one. I would have hoped there were no more of these video's but people seem to be so hell bent on showing how cute their pet is they don't care about the damage they are doing to the species they supposedly love so much and seeing these little sweethearts awake and active during the day and knowing they only live about 20 years in captivity but becomes 10 years when not allowed to live their normal nocturnal lifestyle makes me very sad. If kept to human hours they will probably only live to about 10 or 12 years when there are reports of one living to the age of 26 years when living in the proper environment. It is also very painful for them to be in the daylight direct sunlight, I believe, can actually cause retinal damage in this NOCTURNAL animal. Having retinitis pigmentosa myself, I know how painful sunlight can be when your eyes cannot handle bright lights.
So enjoy your little pets while you have them but please, if you care about this species, remove the video's so that others are not tempted to go out and buy one. It is killing them all.
I agree
When they put there arms up it means that they are mad
Well not mad there just scared
Y'all are actually sitting here torturing him/her. They are actually really scarred
The slow lori is putting his hands up because they have poison in their elbows and it is trying to protect its self
Which means its torture to the poor thing
And bright light hurt their eyes
Its sad that they go through alot of shit to only get sold, I wish there were a way to keep them as pet but without hurting there teeth
that's a strange looking cat
Lemurs and lorises make awful pets and look cute, but are wild animals. (They are stripped from the wild and sold illegally.) You must be a professional to even be able to touch a lemur. #ticklingistorturing
Leave them alone !!
I see I'm not the first to say this, but yes, the arms up is a means of defense. Slow lorises are very threatened by the Illegal Wildlife Trade, because they are popular for their cuteness and being "tickled." However, did you know that the Illegal Wildlife trade has connections with criminal associations? And either way, taking animals from the wild is wrong. Even if we think they are domesticated , they will always be wild, and we need to respect them because of that- which means taking special effort in being responsible in what we do and thinking about how it affects wildlife.
Slow lorisis can poisen you
Why is this comment section so toxic? I mean just LOOK at how happy and content these little guys are! I mean, it is perfectly obvious that it's not exactly appropriate for their species to live inside of houses, but they seem to do pretty well after all.
Certainly no reason for you people to freak out about it so much. Not the least.
Huang Yi Qing That really was an embarrassing reply
Huang Yi Qing I agree that these animals should not be held as pets. I definitely would not myself.
I, however, do not agree with the popular view that slow loris are being "tortured" if treated like those in the video. Like all mammals, primates are very curious, adaptive and generally enjoy physical contact and being petted after some period of familiarization.
That said, it is of course dangerous to see slow loris as "living toys", as they are easily mistreated accidentally and it also seems to be extraordinarily difficult to arrange a long-term appropriate diet.
Note though that a larger part of slow loris is caught for traditional medicine and other superstitous purposes. Demand for pets is a factor as well, but of less importance.
Yes but not that they go on long walks at night (since their nocturnal) and hunt moths crickets and little bugs these should never be kept tho
