I knew a fair amount about Caribbean extinctions, but a hell of a lot here was news to me - I've NEVER heard of cave rails or knew Cuba once had a kestrel. There's definitely a need for an up to date book on the subject, lots of new info becoming available. Many thanks for this.
As a Puerto Rican, this was wonderful! Extremely depressing, but still important information about a land where many of us would rather believe the past never existed. On the Golden Coquí, I myself have seen similar specimens in and around their range, where I live. I'll have to take note of that in the future.
You don't mention Puerto Rico and we have some species that also disappeared, and we're also in the Caribbean. OK, I see you mention us when you talk about the Coquí. But also we lost the jutía, and we almost lost our parrot. I see you mention the jutía later on. Know that it lived in Puerto Rico and it was hunted by our Native Tainos.
Here's some more uncommon topics you should consider doing: * Animals that live in the Caspian and Volga Delta * Animals that went extinct in the Caspian and Volga Delta * Animals that only live in Central Asia (including Tibet and East Turkestan) * Animals that live in Mindanao, Palawan and the Sulu Islands * Animals that live in the Ryukyu Islands * Animals that live in the Iranian Plateau and the Caucasus
If you where going a back in the past,in the Dr you should find Normally the gryposuchus, even hunting tainos Also the beautiful Dominican endemic rhinoceros iguana is not extinct
0:44 Wouldn't 32 Mya be around the beginning, rather than the end, of the Oligocene?
Yes i meant to say that sorry

As a Guadeloupean i am happy about this video and sad that most of those animals disappeared

I love this video, but I think you definitely should've talked about the giant gound owls that used to inhabit the islands !!
