Probably organize your bus lines by giving them a prefix based the region they primarily serve, like how NYC and Long Island do it. So basically, "B" For Bixton, "A" for Auburn, and "Q" for Quincy,
I have an idea, if you ever want to try to make another city, instead of connecting the cities with more buildings, place farmland instead, it’ll make your map look more realistic, for reference look at Galesburg Illinois it’s a town surrounded by farmland, plus you can make even more money for upgrades
Galesburg is a quaint town (not as good as Quincy or Macomb, go Hawks and Leathernecks!) but this map has a much bigger population. I do agree that farms should be on the outskirts of a city or metropolitan area, as it is IRL.
I absolutely love Bixton... your hand-made interchanges are extremely complex, but they look absolutely amazing!! I think the highway systems in Bixton are very realistic, and the entire greater Bixton area looks so pretty
An interesting challenge that may help with traffic is lowering (or removing) the cost of public transportation. Less realistic, perhaps, but we can just say it comes out of the citizen's taxes. That hopefully leads to fewer cars on the road and therefore better traffic.
Quincy Harbor is in Quincy County. Bixton and the rest is in Bixton county. Id leave the area around that highway interchange sparse, I could see the counties being a little grumpy having to work together, so they flex power by not letting the cities merge. "Bixton is great, but theres a reason I live in Quincy County"- rich annoying nimbys in quincy harbor.
I agree on the economics. There's way to easy to make loads of money, not really a challenge. Also the simulation really starts to slow down once the city expand. Hopefully it will improve.
just FYI.. the 2nd bus line you implemented, the blue line. At 16:46 of this video, the first bus stop you place for this route, you didn't add it to the route.
Me too, it's so sad. It was my first Cities Skylines city, I really enjoyed making it. I keep having ideas of what to change and add and improve and then have to remember that it's currently too slow and glitchy to play :(
17:47 you skipped the first bus shelter/stop when you were running the path for the second bus line - you had placed 2 stops _before_ the train station stop
adding more lanes make more traffic as when the traffic clears up the people who avoided the traffic on that road will start using it and then it will back up
Adding your cargo from the port to other parts of city will take more trucks off the road. And with the money part of the game. It's the sane in both games, you just get to a point where you don't need to worry about balance of budget in the city.
To organize your busses just start each route with QH-1 and AB-1 that way they are numbered and tell you what system, you could also have one color serve each system like real life to organize them easier. Also for your smaller streets with a lot of bus/ tram traffic you should convert them to bus/tram/taxi only roads to keep your lines moving!
I think it would be better in quincy harbour to have an intersection with traffic lights instead of the roundabout in the center, as the roundabout is always full and therefore nothing moves at all. That would at least improve traffic a little since the roundabout is the main problem
My city just fluctuates from 67k to 70k pops, no residential demand just offices and industry,, and maxed money too... having a hard time increasing pops
I wish I could throw myself into your game and help you with traffic management because lane management is very important and watching you play you’re missing some key factors especially on your highway networks.
Can you spend some time just looking at the stats and data to see how your previous interventions are working? Run over some of the previous efforts, e.g. schools/college capacity, transport usage, tourism (if they have it?) etc etc
You can do this, but I still have to take 6 tries to make one perfect square without the grid tool Edit: As a storm chaser, the torandoes disappoint me
You have 3 lanes going into 2, 4 lanes going into 3 and 5 lanes going into 4. This is AWFUL. I’ve been playing the game off and on for a couple years, I’m a complete amateur and even I KNOW this is an awful design. It’s called lane mathematics. I wanted to reach in the screen and take over your game so bad. Super cringy for me. lol.
You should name bus lines after their municipality and their destination. That way, the list is organizable alphabetically
certified just one more lane bro moment
Probably organize your bus lines by giving them a prefix based the region they primarily serve, like how NYC and Long Island do it.

Nahh buildings are better bc it makes it look more like one metropolitan area which is realistic with how Seattle is which is his inspiration

some small rich countries dependant on tourism and foreign workers often has nearly free public transport. I know Luxembourg does.
Quincy Harbor is in Quincy County. Bixton and the rest is in Bixton county. Id leave the area around that highway interchange sparse, I could see the counties being a little grumpy having to work together, so they flex power by not letting the cities merge. timister you are my current favorit youtubver i just got cs2 and you tips a rereally helping thank you so much
35:18 it actually is the roads that's causing it. you need another lane for both lanes to merge before merging into the highway
My guy, This city is so realistic!
Connect the cargo rail hubs!!!! 😊
It is worth the reduction in truck traffic between the areas.
I agree on the economics. There's way to easy to make loads of money, not really a challenge. Also the simulation really starts to slow down once the city expand. Hopefully it will improve.
You can rename bus lines, and then they are organized alphabetically, so that can help you group your lines.
just FYI.. the 2nd bus line you implemented, the blue line. At 16:46 of this video, the first bus stop you place for this route, you didn't add it to the route.
haha I noticed that too
(the timestamp for when he’s setting the route is exactly one minute later, at 17:46)
Also, that road in front the train station could be a pedestrian road. It would help traffic by separating vehicle and pedestrian traffic
I had problems at 100,000 population too my entire city will not play anymore
Me too, it's so sad. It was my first Cities Skylines city, I really enjoyed making it. I keep having ideas of what to change and add and improve and then have to remember that it's currently too slow and glitchy to play :(
This is why I don't pay money to Beta test. Will definitely be waiting a few years...
I think connecting your own cargo harbours and cargo rail services would get rid of some of the truck traffic going trough your city
I think we might need another Highway loop around the Bixton metropolitan area.
17:47 you skipped the first bus shelter/stop when you were running the path for the second bus line - you had placed 2 stops _before_ the train station stop
adding more lanes make more traffic as when the traffic clears up the people who avoided the traffic on that road will start using it and then it will back up
You mean running a bunch of trams over heavy traffic streets made things worse?
Adding your cargo from the port to other parts of city will take more trucks off the road. And with the money part of the game. It's the sane in both games, you just get to a point where you don't need to worry about balance of budget in the city.
the trams are blocking your roads, make those roads bigger, with 3 lanes, 1 specially for the trams and problem solved.
People don't know how to merge irl, lol 😂😂😂
Tip for adding transit lines in large cities: pause the game. It becomes much more responsive.
9:12 yeah in one of the patches bridge pillars got fixed to be more frequent.
nah it was when he added the subway to the train station that he had to remove the bridge

I love traffic❤
28:25 it looks like this is an accident prone area. perhaps some traffic calming here?
10:55 tornado lol
15:54 tornado was like jk lol 😂
You forgot to bring a bus line into the industrial area and you forgot to make a bus hub for all of the busses
sooo its like a mix of portland and silicon valley now 😎😎
the first interchange is I76 and I95 in ultimate driving back then
I think it would be better in quincy harbour to have an intersection with traffic lights instead of the roundabout in the center, as the roundabout is always full and therefore nothing moves at all. That would at least improve traffic a little since the roundabout is the main problem
Every intersection that is very busy should be equipped with traffic because right-of-way only works well when there is little traffic
*trafficlights
My city just fluctuates from 67k to 70k pops, no residential demand just offices and industry,, and maxed money too... having a hard time increasing pops
hello timeister, in my cities, i do all buslines in a simmilar colour, different grades of blue, to kinda sort them…
Connecting up the cargo terminals would more than likely cut down on traffic
Tim Buddy For Bus route Start As Minimum Busses For Sart point of Route Then As Per Usage In My Point of view how Transportation can Work
And Also Pause The Game after 90k Population while Placing Routes to It Can Work At Ease
I wish I could throw myself into your game and help you with traffic management because lane management is very important and watching you play you’re missing some key factors especially on your highway networks.
Build transports lines with the game in pause. It’s fix the problem 20:00
Can you spend some time just looking at the stats and data to see how your previous interventions are working? Run over some of the previous efforts, e.g. schools/college capacity, transport usage, tourism (if they have it?) etc etc
doing better than NYC lmao
The bridge thing disappeared because you deleted it when you fixed the down town trainstation in last episode. :)
just one more lane bro... it’ll work, trust me
I wonder if a 10-minute city can work in this game
@@Skibidy_rizzler_ no, referring the 10-min city thing, right? if so, damn. that sucks
You can do this, but I still have to take 6 tries to make one perfect square without the grid tool
Edit: As a storm chaser, the torandoes disappoint me
You ciuld actualy fix hifh rent problen you should adjust density and size ratio form low density single homes should have size like 3×4
I saw that work in citoes skyline episode of biffa plays indie games
🚋🚎
