Introduced to Leon in my Dad's 78 Ford van on an 8 track, and have loved his music ever since. My Dad passwed away 20 years ago, and whenever I wlisten to Leon I think about some good times and smile
Got to see Leon at the Vogue Theatre in Indianapolis in the mid 1990s. Great night, had the tickets and invited an old love (since we both adored Leon), we fell back in love that night. Fell deeper in love with Leon that night as well.
Even since listening to Champagne Charlie; Leon has been in my music collection, listen to, appreciated and passed on to others, he is a unique artist who needs to be shared...feet up Leon you deserve it.
First saw Mr Leon Redbone on the Ed Sullivan Show. He did Big Time Woman. Accompanied by a tuba. Blew my mind with his slow coolness. It's still great stuff Leon! Go well.
Amazing how such sad lyrics can make us happier than we were before we hear them. The "Blues?" should always be in parentheses, with a tiny question mark behind it. Make me smile, Leon. Crazy.
Saw Leon back in the early seventy on S&L.The coolest Dud I had ever heard or seen !! Bought his tape and wore it out, trying to learn his guitar style.Never came close to sounding like him.But oh what pleasure it has been for me.Thank you so much Leon!!!

For genesis of tunes like this look up Bix Beiderbecke - Toddlin' Blues - Bix & His Rythm Jugglers - Toddlin' Blues (1925 AD)
Wunderbare Bilder! Schorsch😊

Mamie Smith song from 1921.
I love Leon Redbone... seen him live a couple of times (good show).
I recommend you listen to Jessy Carolina's version of this song...
Where is leon movie
Leon was cool. Made my time here in this oilfield mancamp/jail without bars more tolerable.
