It will be really interesting to hear the results of your assessments of the two East German systems. Perhaps UA-camr Mishaco might be a good contact for advice on a GDR lookalike rifle. Hello, It would have to be in 5.45. So the SAR 2 would be ok, the other choices are the Tantal and the old ak74 itself. either way some people will still make the comment that it isn’t correct. all this without understanding that analogs are perfectly acceptable for systems testing.

Anyone have any info on boots? Were they going to switch away from the jackboot to the M90 utv boots?
that is an interesting question Kevin. I just use the Jackboots. and generally do my best to avoid footwear.
If you are looking for a good gun to substitute for the AK74, you can get a Romanian side folder AKM and get East German bakelite AK furniture
