Chelsea, thank you for the shoutout! My zipper is giving me trouble again on my bean jacket. I think what happens is once the slider weakens and you try to close it up with pliers it will eventually open up again. I didn’t know the measurement for the slider was the width of the zipper in millimeters, so that was helpful. I ordered some new sliders online, but that measurement is critical. What I’ve done before to replace the slider was to make a small slit with a razor blade just before the top end stop and fold the zipper over enough to get the slider on track. Thank you again, this was very helpful. 😊
Ugh this was so great! Thank you I feel so accomplished. The zipper broke on my beaded coin purse that I have had for 15 years and has sentimental value. I refused to accept that I couldn't repair it and came across your video. The zipper slide is now good as new. I did the same thing that you did in the explanation using the red zipper. Thanks again!
Thank you so very much! It was so frustrating trying to replace the pull from the top - and took little time and effort doing it from the bottom. (red zipper). I look forward to your other videos.
is there any place where this slider is changed to an object that has already been sewn and no possibility to do what you are showing? I have (of course beginner´s mistake) sewn a backpack and forgot to reverse one slider to the other slider, so now I have a hard life trying to find exacty this type of video - or maybe someone can help... thank you!

I have a question about replacing a zipper slider on leather pants that zip all the way to the top. I need to replace the slider with a locking one. Can I replace it from the top with the zipper closed even if doesn’t have the extra material? I don’t want to have to take the bottom of the zipper apart. I have a pic of the pants but I’m unable to post it here
Hi! 😊 This was very informative! I'm wondering, if I want to change the zipper slide on a jacket with the zipper top kind of sewn in to the collar, is that possible? I'm sewing a reversible jacket and thought I had a reversible zipper but I didn't. I live in Norway and have to buy the reversible zippers from us/uk so it's not a quickly done thing. I was wondering if I could just use a normal zipper and then change the slide when I've bought a reversible one? If I was able to explain that well enough 😅
Norway! That’s cool. Yes, you should be able to just switch out the slider. Just make sure the zipper you’re sew in looks the same on both sides. You will want to use a molded tooth or metal zipper. Coil zippers lay on the top of the webbing so they don’t look the same on both sides and can’t really reverse. A reversible zipper slider just has a pole on either side or often times the pole can flip over the top of the slider and hang on either side of the zipper. And of course, make sure the zipper gauge is the same so that your slider will fit over the teeth properly. Cheers
Thanks. Some suggestions: speak a little slower and reduce the length of the video. It was a little hard to follow. I was actually looking for a video on how to change the zipper side.
This was so helpful!
Amazing!

You're welcome Jerry!
Thanks for the video! You’ve made me realize I over think a lot! 😂 I was trying to figure out how to get the bottom stop off😂😂
You can do it! Thanks for watching! 😊

Thank you so much for this, this helped me fix my wife’s dress the night before she was in a wedding!

My problem is the opposite. I closed the zipper and the slider came off at the end. I have the slider, but I want to make sure I put it on properly.
Great question, I’ll make a follow-up video on that!

Noted on this! Thanks for your feedback.
