my friend described her sleep paralysis as there were high pitched screaming: weird noises that were laughing. arms and hands going through her throat and choking her, it looked like demons walking around her, she couldn’t move at all; she tried really hard but still it was like she was frozen and couldn’t speak as much as she tried to
@Chimchim Loona Nothing that scary has happened to me. The only scary thing that happened to me was feeling like a little girl was sleeping beside me but i couldnt turn to see her.
He’s how I describe my only experience with sleep paralysis, I was asleep on my aunts couch, I tried moving but couldn’t, I looked around and saw my uncle sitting on a chair near me. I had no hallucinations just felt off and tired, I tried to talk but couldn’t. I feel off the couch and my body woke up. This was last year, I had no idea what happened at the time but later found out. This is my first time telling anyone about it.
I'm experiencing sleep paralysis since last two years, I learnt this trick which changed my fear of sleep paralysis. 1. When I start to experience it, I just hold my breath until I woke up. Trust me it works. If you hold for just 30 sec. 2. Mostly I experience it when I sleep during daytime, so try to follow sleep cycle.
@@none9392 i feel the same, i learn to relax even when It scares because I was not awareness i was almost dreaming. Everything has the good part inside. Thanks for sharing 😄💚
So when I was a kid I had very regular sleep paralysis. For no special reason it seems. I didn't know what the hell it was and I basically thought that it was a normal thing for everyone to experience, like a certain subtype of nightmare, and whenever it happened I didn't sleep for the rest of the night. I'm now 20 and I experience it maybe once a month... And let me tell you that no one gets used to it, no matter how often you get it. It's as if a demonic presence invading my whole room was always trying to kill me, very loud pulsating noises seeming to get closer and closer and a danger which seems to get worse and worse as time passes and there's no escaping it; the situation controls you (which can cause 30 sec to feel like an eternity), and the more you try to move the worst it gets, like the intense fear proportional to the danger felt creates even more hallucinatory danger to be felt. So here are my no bullshit tips based on years of experiencing it for those of you who want to make the best use of this experience if it ever happens: if you have sleep paralysis, don't try to escape it. If your eyes are open, close them; if they are shut, keep them shut, otherwise you might see things you may never forget and fear your room for a long time. Then, listen carefully and put your entire focus on the terrible demonic hallucinatory sounds from hell that you hear and then slow down your breathing. As your breathing slows down, it indicates to your brain that the situation doesn't necessitate a fight or flight response. Once you did this, notice what happens; the sounds get less terrible and you can accept their presence. Finally, as your physiological activation decreases, it paradoxically becomes easier to use all the energy and willpower you have to succeed moving a limb and liberate yourself. If you succeed doing that, try to do that with other frightful situations in life (This is personnally the thing I'm the most grateful of that sleep paralysis offered me - a kind of rehearsal for real life situation). When something stressful, bad and extremely anxiogenic happens to you, pay attention to it, slow down your breathing, accept the situation for what it is, don't try to escape it, and then go through it with courage and a more serene state of mind.
When I first started reading your comment, I realized I could have written it too. The same thing happened to me when I was little. I can't remember exactly how old I was but it happened for many years. Probably 10 y/o until my late teens. I never told anyone because I really didn't know how to explain it. I'd be so scared of this demonic entity or energy that I could clearly see in the corner of my eye having this pulsating energy sound After years of experiencing the same thing i started to get curious about what this entity was that would look like a black starfish that somehow would make a electricity kind of sound. One night I stopped trying to get away from of and tried to get closer to it. Tried to focus on it instead of turning my eyes away. I remember being able to make that entity go away at my own will. I would say "hey you come get closer to me, show yourself ", "what do you want?". then that entity would get closer to me. if it got too close I would get scared and I "wake" myself. I'd be in my bed remembering everything that just happened. I kept doing that many times, being able to make that entity less scary until I totally stop being afraid. Somehow this "skill" transferred to my regular dreams on which I was able to change things in my dreams at will. If I was having a dream about being in a park I could put things in that park that I wanted and take things away. If I was having a dream on which I was in danger I could say " wait, I'm dreaming, nothing of this is real", and then make that danger despair. I could start dreaming and say "today I want to fly" and go up flying superman-like and experience the air on my cheeks. It was amazing while it last. But as soon as the episodes with the black starfish entity went away. my skill of being able to control my dreams went away as well. Everything now is kind of blurry because I'm in my 40's now and I have not had any episode since my teens. I never knew what it was until recently that I started doing some research about it out of curiosity. At the time at realized this is not a curse but a blessing. I was able to teach myself to control my dreams. I think the breaking point was when I convinced myself ( I was 85% sure this entity was not a demon that can hurt me but a creation of my own brain). When I was awake I'd be 100% sure it was my own creation but while it was happening I'd grow more doubtful. Once I was convinced this was created by myself I decided to experiment and try to create other things. That's how I was able to control my dream. Sometimes I miss having that "skill" If you are having these same episodes try this out and let me know if it works for you. I'd love to hear if anyone else is able to do what I did.
This happens to me as I go to sleep. The only thing I can control is my breathing. I breathe quickly enough and my wife would hear my rapid breathing and out and touch me. Which would wake me enough to move.
I had the same thing! When I have it, I start shaking my head but I just can’t. I can see someone is comming to me and I start shaking and shaking but it doesn’t work. Sometimes I have a feeling that my body gets lifted up in the air and my body is moving through my room but I just can’t do anything. This is really terrifying.
WHY ARE ALL THE COMMENTS SO WEIRD- “oh kinky” “booty demon” “dad with milk” “usa when canadian” IM ACTUALLY MORE SCARED OF THE COMMENTS THEN THE FREAKING TEDDY BEAR
I had sleep paralysis once in my life. I felt something very strong or heavy moving on my chest and when I tried to move it away instinctively, it gripped my neck very firmly. It didn't feel human so I was terrified and sure it would kill me. I simply told myself to be brave and stayed still, without struggling until the feeling disappeared.
this has happened to me two, i think it's called the "old hag". Did some research on it and it was absolutely terrifying. Did it kinda feel like something was sitting on your chest?
There is a ghost in Malaysia named "Hantu Tindih" (you can translate it :)) (hantu mean ghost idk what is tindih :'))The ghost will choke you or push(idk tge word) your chest at midnight (there is a reason but idk how to explain it in english) sorry for messy english, english isn't my first language :)
I had the exact same experience feeling a lot of oresssure with a feeling of dread before it happen. I was getting chocked but calmed down once I realized I could breathe. Thought someone got in the house and was chocking me. Tried desperately to move my fingers
Same thing happened to me only difference was the old hag was in pitch dark black my eyes were open but body and voice frozen … it went on top of my chest and I tried fighting it but I couldn’t move than my whole body started shaking like crazy like a seizure and I was being choked and out of no where I thought I was gonna be stuck in this situation and in my head I cried out to Jesus Christ to save me from what’s going on than instantly I woke up grasping for air .. I’m not even religious and now I am
Caveman Spongebob some I need to see the doctor I don’t know what’s going on it’s .......6 am I want to fall back to asleep but if I close my eyes my entire body freezes...... I don’t know how to explain what happens to me but at least I don’t think anyone is trying to kill me
Yes,i had this dream. Two puppets were hurting me to dead. I could not scream,i tought i was going to die so i started crying... Then i woke up and i was alive.
I once had a dream where I was in a white museum like thing but it was empty and everything I see was black and white and the worst part?i tried speaking but whenever I speak I stark choking for a few seconds.Luckily there were nothing scary there. All I had to do is to not speak and wait until the dream ends.i was just in an empty room with some people and I couldn’t speak.
Once in a dream I was trying to scream to my mum that a guy with a weapon was coming towards us but for some reason it didn’t work The dream had a pretty good ending though
My first time I had sleep paralysis, I saw my favorite UA-camrs in my room discussing the Kardashians and how irrelevant Kendal is. I ended up peeing my pants.
@@itzparadox4243 I woke up with my bros trying to scare me yelling and when I opened my eyes I noticed and they stoped. seconds later I just remember screaming for my life and they will never forget that
The first time I experienced sleep paralysis, I also tried to forcefully fight my way out of it. However in the subsequent times, I've found that remaining calm through it and then once I'm stable forcefully try to awake myself all at once. If it didn't work, repeat. Stay calm and once you're calm force yourself to awake all at once. Always worked, usually only need to try one time
me 2 but the problem is I'm going through anxiety sleep depravation due to some allergies so I'm taking a lot of meds because of that and I'm a little depressive because I've been far from home and my mother for like 3 months
I once had sleep paralysis and instead of fighting it I just tried to relax and give in. I ended up feeling like I was falling, then strange, beautiful portals appeared. I created a body and flew over a sci-fi city (lucid dreaming, of course). I haven't feared sleep paralysis since. It's a great way of entering lucid dreams quickly once you master letting go instead of trying to fight the paralysis.
If you’re having sleep paralysis from time to time or more often, it can actually be fun to just calm down and observe what’s happening around you. You can also sometimes control the hallucinations, I once turned the demon into an angel who lifted me from my bed and carried into a lucid dream. Sometimes I just laugh inside at the demon who’s trying to scare me or do things to me, as I know it’s just a hallucination.
So, to sum up: next time you awaken in a cold sweat, only to discover that you are totally paralysed and overcome with a mounting feeling of dread as you see a huge shadow standing over you in the darkness... JUST RELAX
Steven McBrien it is possible, i get it my whole life, before i knew what it is I was terrified. Now I have the knowledge its not that bad. I almost dont feel the pain anymore either! But yeah, dont open your eyes...
😂😂😂 mines too!😬 she just looked at me & did nothing, doesn't she watch movies to see what other parents do in that situation? So annoying but funny at the same time.
I've had sleep paralysis 95% of the time when I try to have a short evening nap. It's everything like you said except I can't breathe either. I try to fight it alot by trying my hardest to open my eyes or move my hands and there was once when my eye lid opened a tiny bit, big enough to let the light of my light bulb in for a good 10 seconds and then I woke up gasping for air
I have a similar experience, Within a month ive delt with with 2 times during a random after school nap. I feel like im suffocating and force myself to breathe, however in my experience my eyes are open.
Oh glad to know that there's someone who share same experience, i was kinda scared that i might be the only person who experience sleep paralysis a way too often and sometime more than once per day
Vulpix Phoebe the scariest part for me is when it happens when I'm first falling asleep and I know what's happening but I can't make myself fully wake up so I kind of just fall into it
Yes I agree. Reality and society are the real scary shit. There are real monsters out there. The world is full death and destruction. Nightmares are for pussies.
Vulpix Phoebe It's the second scariest thing for me The first was when my dads gf dog nearly chewed my face of It actually happened and I was so scared
CobaltGhost it actually is, I literally saw this type of demon when I had sleep paralysis and I honestly pulled all nighters for the rest of the summer.
Not for me, i just had this one weird sleep paralysis where there was intense ringing in my ears and my bed felt like it was shaking, my eyes were closed the whole time. it lasted like 15 seconds
I once had one when I was sleeping at the couch and I just saw my mom siting at the chair facing me, and she was staring at me in a weird creepy way, she looked different, like very pale and she had a crazy look in her eyes and some creepy smile. I heard my voice calling her for help even though I wasn't speaking at all, I couldn't actually but she didn't change the expression at her face. then she got up and walked to me till she was like few inches away from me and she kept staring then she smiled a very wide creepy smile then she turned around and left, then I woke up.
KD kaidy bruh omg when I got them I always felt like I was tossing in my bed but when I wake up I'm in the same place I was when I fell asleep rn I don't get them because I sleep with music and so far I haven't gotten them.
I've only experienced this twice in my life but my whole body was so paralyzed I could not even open my eyes. I kept trying so hard but my eyelids were completely shut. At first this made me feel even more claustrophobic, but I guess I'm glad now cause I wouldn't have wanted to see something unpleasant. They also say to try and start wiggling your fingers or toes, but I tried this too and it wouldn't work. It's definitely one of my worse experiences and I hope it doesn't happen again.
This has happened to me... My blanket was covering my mouth and nose, making me not be able to breath and shout. I tried to remove it but I cannot move. I ran out of air and fainted. It was a horrible nightmare
Loud bangs like pounding on a door. Electric vibrating feeling. Hurts to try and move, especially your neck. Most terrifying thing I have ever experienced. Started for me at 22. It was an almost every night occurrence for like 2 years. Then when I moved it went away. Moved again a couple of years later and it started again. For me it depends on surroundings, which leads me to believe it’s possibly other-worldly. People can laugh at that, but unless you’ve experienced it….you can’t imagine the terror of that feeling. Ominous presence of danger and unable to move. Fight or flight without the ability to do either. You can learn to use it as a jumping off point for lucid dreaming if you can remain calm. Only been able to do that a couple of times out of what is probably 100’s. The fear is really strong.
***** Because I almost always roll over onto my stomach in my sleep. I just happened to end up face down between two pillows. It wasn't enough to stop me from breathing, but when I woke up, I panicked.
This is a real thing. Sleep paralysis is the most helpless feeling in the world. Imagine laying on your bed waking up and not being able to move or talk, but yet you see everything around you like you’re awake. I’ve been having sleep paralysis for 7 plus years. My girlfriend is a very light sleeper so when I am sleeping next to her I breath in and out really hard or wiggle my fingers and or toes and she feels it and wakes me up. If you’re alone and having those episodes just keep calm because the more you panic the more you’re going to sike yourself out. Even tho the episodes feels like an eternity, Remember that it’s temporary and it only last a couple of second or minutes.
I had something like this once but when I opened my eyes everything was blurry and it felt like my eyes were moving fast and i dont know why but I didn't see anything scary
Girly Nerd yeah I face that direction towards the wall but if it happens I won't be able o see what's behind me and time a hear any noise I turn around lol
Girly Nerd yeah I face that direction towards the wall but if it happens I won't be able o see what's behind me and time a hear any noise I turn around lol
I find that if i face a wall there is almost 100% chance i get sleep paralysis.. best for me to sleep on my stomach, worst is to sleep on my back, thats the most scary SP
My first experience of sleep paralysis occurred when I was sleeping in a room with my cousins and I felt as if someone (many someones) were trying to turn me to my left side, I heard voices, snickering and creepy whispers... Oh God I will never forget that, the certainty that you are being crushed to death and you can't even cry for help, the fear is like nothing I have ever known and I hope to God I never feel it again..I was praying so hard for someone to wake me up..
I've had sleep paralysis before. a number of times actually and it's nothing like what the girl in this video portrayed, it's very frightening being conscious and not being able to move, hearing strange noises, not being able to breathe. it's not something you wake up to thinking, (calmly) hello? I'd anyone there? no it's hard to talk when this happens and you scream in your mind trying to force the words out of your mouth.
it's like someone choking you while you try to scream for help, you try to yell but you just can't force the words out. another thing they didn't go into very much are the things you see and hear. I've never seen anything when i went through this but I've heard things. I heard a clicking sound under my bed at first it starts out show but then gets fast and reminded me of the clicking sound that cicadas make. it's scary but the few times I've had it it only seemed to last about a minute or so. it seems the more I panicked, the easier it was too break free of the paralysis. it gives you a deep feeling of claustrophobia being tied down in a straight jacket and locked in a small box. afterwords I felt a little dizzy and disoriented. I wish this video went more in depth and the actress was a little more accurate at depicting the emotions that come with sleep paralysis.
Silver Steel maybe for some people. But for a lot of people it creates a fear, an anxiety every night before bed, they think "oh no.. is time for bed again... Is this going to happen to me again tonight?" It causes panic attacks, for me, at least, it causes anxiety attacks about going to sleep. It made me not want to sleep, and I would throw myself into an even worse anxiety attack. I'm over it now but after 4 years of going through it. I went and spoke to a counselor, he told me it was happening from high anxiety and stress from what was going on in my life (my wife died) and he told me that when I learned to deal with it and not let it weigh so heavy on my conscience that it would be manageable. And in about 2 years I've not had an anxiety attack or the sleep paralysis. I have minor panic attacks but those have become easy for me to deal with and thus keeping the panic attack from effecting me.
Hey how you doin lil mama? Lemme whisper in your ear Tell you sumthing that you might like to hear You got a sexy ass body and your ass look soft Mind if I touch it? and see if its soft Naw I'm jus playin' lets just say I can
Tip of Advice. Try moving the fingers feet and hands it requires less effort than to move the whole body. When you manage to move your fingers then this is the time you can move the limbs and after that you can now move your body. In my case when my body is in sleep paralysis I just let it be and during that time i chose to close my eyes until i come back to sleep. I prioritize my rest over my fears.
TXF Had my experiences but nothing visual and only auditory hearing voices and most recently clunking sounds from the walls which my room typically looked altered before but was identical that time and felt like I was really hearing things.
the only times that both of them have happened for me was when i had a fever. I was hallucinating hundreds of people coming up the staircase then choking me while i couldn't move. scary as balls.
User Name Oml. Actually, I've had it so many times when I was a kid. I didn't know what was going on and I woke up crying because I've had no idea what was going on.
for me i was chilling in bed and felt sooo tired and just drop asleep and after i hear laughing and scratching. couldnt move at all or speak but could breath fine. which made me think it was not near me enough to choke me but to scare me enough to make me freeze. guys whenever this happens NEVER OPEN YOUR EYES IF YOU CAN! i learnt the hard way when one i opened my eyes and i saw the tall black figure just staring at me for about 5 seconds then started screaming and my whole body went numb and i saw a thin body of me and my actual body still in bed and i when i realised i jumped straight back into my body and closed my eyes and then i woke up with me feeling very cold and my heart racing. not a fun feeling. since then ive had this for about a year or 2. so i have enough experince where i know what to do and it works. like sqeezing even the smallest muscle would work or trying to do something to hurt ur body or just breath nice and slow but not too slow and try to get calm.
WTF!!! I just had sleep paralysis today and got this recommendation, what the actual fcuk!! P.s. I had sleep paralysis a lot of times and understood that it happens when you sleep in a certain position, also what got me through this nightmare is to just stay calm and chant something, like your fav tune,or your fav person's name,or just start chanting your god's name, whatever helps you. Just stay calm.
I pray to God and ask help. cuz always demons come to my dream and dont let me wake up but I see my room. its between sleeping and awaken mode. Also close my eyes tightly and try to open it will help me to wake up. I do it few times to wake up
People make up bizarre stories when someone in good health mysteriously dies. They've never heard of a brain anyeurism or they just assume a young person can't have a heart attack. So some crazy shit must have killed the person. Just google "Korean Fan Death" to see a crazy example. TL;DR Koreans think that fans in your house can choke you to death in your sleep. Yes, even the highly educated ones I went to college with think this.
Homero Martinez That is truly awful. But many things could have damaged your cousin. Sleep paralysis is unlikely. A brain clot is more likely. While they feel frightening in the moment, you don't need to fear for the safety of your loved ones if they ever report having sleep paralysis.
I've had sleep paralysis once before, and unfortunately my eyes were open and i panicked, i was very young at the time too. All i remember is a scary white face standing over the top of me looking down at me, and i tried screaming "mummy!!!! mummy!!!!!" but nothing was coming out of my mouth and i couldn't move. This experience was genuinely traumatising though and i feel uneasy talking about it.
Thanks to everyone who took time out of their life to watch this video of ours! We also released part 2 on insomnia here: ua-cam.com/video/H6KHEdmcbLc/v-deo.html If anyone wants to learn the causes, or chat with others with similar experiences, feel free to go to that link.
Lacie, while what they suggest may work... It is not the truth. This is. elshaddai-christian-deliverance.com/ghost-and-spirits Call on Jesus name and they will leave.
Replayeble duude this is literally my problem, If i go to sleep on my Back i wake up paralyzed and then I fall asleep again and I dream that I'm paralyzed and a paranormal force drag me on the floor...
Had this happen to me once, I was lying on my side tho to everyone saying it only happens when you sleep on your back. I remember being incredibly confused as to why it happened and being so freaked out that I couldn‘t snap out of it. I thought this is it I will never wake up from this. It was probably just 5 minutes but it felt like a whole eternity. And I definitely had the feeling there was something in the room out of my line of vision, super creepy
Zu Zu I wonder if it has to do with adrenaline and blood pressure because I have blood pressure issues and not until it started getting worse that I started having sleep paralysis
I don't experience hallucinations but i experience a more life threatening event. I actually lie down upside down pressing my nose to the pillows and eventually find it difficult to breath when paralysed. I will try to breathe, call someone, push something (like how they show in movies that a patient does to call for help) but nothing will help. Then finally all of a sudden ill get up with full force and gasp for oxygen like i was drowned in water. Its like I was very close go death and many a times i feel blessed to be able to breathe again.
lol everybody's talking about there creepy experiences with paralysis but the first time I had a sleep paralysis,I wasn't scared and I had an entire conversation with the "talking fan" next to me,literally just a talking air fan.
Lol you can't talk when you're in sleep paralysis though, trust me I've even tried screaming and I've had it for a year straight at one point in my life. All that comes out of your throat is the sound of a little air escaping
Angel Montalvo lol same I had sleep paralysis, I didn't even know what was going on i remember waking up and just not being able to move I'm like, wtf is going on why can't I move???????? then I got to lazy and said fuck it i must be dead.
I remember my sleep paralysis happened during the day when my room was bright. I noticed that it suddenly turned dark and heard whispers. I knew if I opened my eyes I would see a demon staring at my face but was curious so I took a peek. There was something really tall with its face kind of torn off in the corner and all I could do was close my eyes because I couldnt move as I heard it walk closer and closer. 😭
I wake up paralysed and then it's like I pop out of my body and I am in my room but everything is darker, it happens often lately. Everything was like a darker tint but sharper and my bathroom light was on but I couldn't see it.
You know that's all in your head right? You imagined all that happening to you because of the simple fact that you believe in those religious stories and that's exactly what you feared while in a sleep paralysis.
veeta true. people can't let their emotions out these days because of other people manipulating them. even though they are trying to be understood for once because many of them probably are trying to escape reality and find people that actually understand them for once. many of them bottle up their emotions and have no one to talk to.
I had sleep paralysis so many times I got used to the voices I hear, but being home alone with my room door close, feeling how someone is pulling my blanket, hearing the door opening and actually seeing how the door is closing is terrifying 😱
Hey man. That is terrible. I had lots of sleep paralysis before Ive become a Christian. Ever since I said the name Jesus in my head as it happened, the demonic presence immediately disappeared as if it was frightened to death! Christ has won for us!
Damn also these replies... I still didn't feel my door opening I just try to get my eyes closed so I can't see what's happening. Of course there's hearing but I don't remember exactly how or what are the sounds
Solveig Bolliger you have no idea what your asking for!.. seeing and hearing demons is the worst part. I prefer the paralysis part, since all you got to do is use all your strength starting with your toes to move again.
Frank Medina You're probably right, I'm sure you speak from experience. I'm sure I would be absolutely terrified, no denying that. What I meant that paralysis which I've had some times already gives me such bad panic. But I haven't had the full sleep paralysis experience, so I don't really know. People would call me lucky probably, and I am thankful for that. No disrespect to anyone from me! Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you may celebrate this season!
Solveig Bolliger Guys I had it too, complete with the full experience of unable to move plus the other, scary stuff. Dayuuum the combination of the two makes you feel sooo helpless
my mother always used to tell my sister and I, a scary story about how a demon tried to choke her when she was sleeping. She saw a black figure that was holding a pillow, stoping her from breathing. She would always conclude the small detail of her being unable to move the whole time. It took us five years to realise there was even a thing called sleep paralysis.
Masked Fox fortunately I don't saw a shadow infact I could see clearly but my eyes are closed and there really get heavy and someone does choke me and I can't move....
My sleep paralysis has improved, maybe even doesn't happen anymore thank God. And it all started with simply educating myself about it. The more I learned about it, the better I can control it when it does happen.
Natassja Stafrace basically, sleep paralysis is when youre body is sleeping, but your brain is not. You cant move but you can see and look around with your eyes. The majority of the time people see monsters, but that hasnt happened to me. Sleep paralysis is most commonly happens after youve fallen asleep, but sometimes happends as youre trying to fall asleep (thats when i get it). A good tip is if youre experiencing sleep paralysis, try to wiggle your toes, you should wake up (works for me)
When you relax and close your eyes you start going into a lucid dream. But the starting is just too scary like I heard a portal sound and I felt my whole body tingling. Did somebody ever feel like me?
I just closed my eyes really hard because my heart won't stop pounding so hard i felt like I never got scared in my life I'm still hyperventilating but I'll be okay haha(fake laughs)
Echo- Tek lol for real . Why do you think everyone saying the same things in the comments he's real heavens real hell is demons angels all real of course the devil doesn't want you to know he's real he's a bitch . We didn't all get together and say hey let's bring up Jesus lol
I've had sleep paralysis a few years ago and a vivid imagery I remember is A mirror repeatedly spinning and a dark figure walking out of it Big hands grabbing my wrists pushing me through this weird cold void, unable to speak and terrified
I'll never forget my first sleepparalisys. I was facing the door, unable to breath or move. When suddenly the door opened and the head of a stranger poked into my room. The guy stared me right in the eyes for 20 seconds. Then he slammed the door. Literally slammed it, so that the walls and the furniture where shaking. At first I thought that someone broke into our house. I went to the livingroom, where my family was sitting. Nobody noticed anyone and no one heard the door beeing slammed shut.
Carolann Cuebas Its probably because your mind and body are both telling you that you're dreaming, so, it's like a mesh of a dream and the real world. That's one theory, anyway...
Krissi_Sue I saw my door opening too! before that, there was this rhymic tapping on the door like someone was using the tips of two fingers alternatively
Everyone has weird experiences. Like once long ago I was sleep walking and I entered the wrong persons house and their family didn't even notice. I apparently opened a bedroom door because I finally woke up while just watching someone sleep. Such a weird day.
I used to experience this when I was very young. It was terrifying. It started up again recently. Thank you for this explanation. Makes it easier to deal with when you learn the scientific explanation instead of the demonic one you thought it was. Still, fighting to wake yourself up is hard sometimes. I just try not to panic. It's gotten to where I can almost feel it coming on somehow. Sleep deprivation=sleep paralysis. To sleep or not to sleep 🤔
Hey. Thanks for sharing. Actually, scientists are still unsure what causes the sleep paralysis. I had lots of sleep paralysis before Ive become a Christian. Ever since I said the name Jesus in my head as it happened, the demonic presence immediately disappeared as if it was frightened to death.
I wanted to sleep, but now I don't want to. I mean, I know how to break free from sleep paralysis, but everyone in the comments is making me paranoid now.
I usually make grunting noises until the sound wakes me up fully. My wife sumtimes shakes me if she hears it. DEFINITELY DO NOT PANIC! Control ur breathing
Ender Blazer that's usually the only sound I can get out. 1 other thing, jus as funny I'm sure I have a tongue ring and sometimes I can only move my tongue so I'll click it bak n 4th on my teeth 2 try and wake myself. Duel purpose tongue ring baby!
Kido A wow, that's extremely cool 2 find out another human being does this also thanks 4 commenting. I used 2 struggle SO hard 2 wake up wen I finally snapped out of it my body was so drained and tired like I was wrestling with an Olympian or sumthin. Luckily I figured out 2 relax and try 2 make a noise but I'll still never get comfortable with it. It just feels 2 unnatural
I couldn't speak or move , my husband was sleeping beside me , there was a demon like creature climbing up the bed , it was so scary , I just kept reciting the lords prayer in my head.and woke up , crying, screaming, my husband eventually got be back asleep . It felt so real and evil , thanks for reading and have ablessed day ! The other 2 times it has happened no demon ,just couldn't move or speak not as scary because there was no demon like entity.
Something similar happened to me I was living alone. in the middle of the night I felt a weight on the mattress behind me. I was sleeping on my side the weight just stayed there behind my back just as if a person had crawled into bed behind me. I was so terrified I must’ve fainted but I know I kept reciting the Lord‘s prayer over and over and over and in the morning I was alone and I’m not religious.
Hey. That is terrible. I had lots of sleep paralysis before Ive become a Christian. Ever since I said the name Jesus in my head as it happened, the demonic presence immediately disappeared as if it was frightened to death! Christ has won for us!
I remember, when I was young, I woke up. Me and my brother used to share a bed. I woke up, and I tried to move, I couldn't, I tried to talk, I wasn't able to. I called out his name, and felt muted. Then, out of nowhere, It stopped and I screamed his name due to my fright. FUCKING scary as hell man.
I get sleep paralysis all the time now to the point that I don't really mind it or do not care, to me it isn't scary anymore. Besides, I kind of enjoy it. Sleep paralysis happens when the body is shut down and asleep but the brain is still awake. So this basically means that you will wake up eventually, it's as if you are sleeping although consider it a "glitch" that you're just conscious. What I like about Sleep Paralysis is that I get to control my dreams, Lucid dreams. They're fun! So here is how it basically feels: Most of the time you just can't move, you're pressurized but not being pushed downwards, you're just being held. Consider yourself a stable wall, that's all. You cannot move a SINGLE muscle, except your eyes. You can open and close them, there were some situations where I couldn't open my eyes but I was still awake, this doesn't make sense but it will after I say this: When your eyes are 'closed', it's not the eyes that were ACTUALLY closed, it's just the eye-LIDS. People only use the terminology of "eyes closed" so that it would make more sense because it does. But anyway, that's how it feels like. I've never really had a hallucination, I've only struggled to have my eyes open but after a couple of minutes or seconds, eventually, my body just wakes up after all the fighting I try to do to contact my mind to send a signal to my muscles that I'm awake and no longer asleep. Sometimes, not always, but SOMETIMES there are occasions of sleep paralysis where you actually cannot breathe, that has only happened to me once but as someone who participates in religion, I have said God's name a couple of times and thankfully I have been released from that terrorizing moment..
This is so crazily accurate to me I’ve had sleep paralysis ever since I can remember and I’m also a lucid dreamer and I always find sleep paralysis to be a good gateway to it since I’m half asleep and half awake I can consciously start thinking about the thing I want to dream about until I’m actually dreaming about it
Idk how, but the way he says "goodnight, sleep tight" in the end is scary bc it makes me think like maybe hes planning to have me sleep paralysis when i wake up or smt
i can promise you as someone who suffers from this every night there whole life it can be alot worse than that ,the demons u see can really be out of this world scary and sometimes u dont go back to sleep the rest of the night
I have had this happen to me several times, it was a real bad time.

my friend described her sleep paralysis as
there were high pitched screaming: weird noises that were laughing. arms and hands going through her throat and choking her, it looked like demons walking around her, she couldn’t move at all; she tried really hard but still it was like she was frozen and couldn’t speak as much as she tried to
What grade
what kind of noises. 😳
YES!!!
Me: trying to relax, sleep, maybe lucid dream
My sleep paralysis: I’m boutta end this mans whole career

I'm experiencing sleep paralysis since last two years,
I learnt this trick which changed my fear of sleep
paralysis.
1. When I start to experience it, I just hold my breath until I woke up. Trust me it works. If you hold for just
30 sec.
2. Mostly I experience it when I sleep during daytime, so try to follow sleep cycle.

Once i had sleep paralysis in a dream when i was trying to wake up from another sleep paralysis...
Clever.
i've had the same thing. its really annoying for the fact you can't wake your self up from a dream but you can from sleep paralysis.
i also have experienced this and honestly it kinda feels annoying. But knowing i cant really do anything i just went back to "sleep"
Guitah Amir I think I did too but I'm not sure
It's sometimes hard to tell, as every ones experience is slightly different in its own way.
Thnks
Very nice

That's a comment worth reading again and again 🙂❤️
Thank you
When I first started reading your comment, I realized I could have written it too. The same thing happened to me when I was little. I can't remember exactly how old I was but it happened for many years. Probably 10 y/o until my late teens. I never told anyone because I really didn't know how to explain it. I'd be so scared of this demonic entity or energy that I could clearly see in the corner of my eye having this pulsating energy sound
After years of experiencing the same thing i started to get curious about what this entity was that would look like a black starfish that somehow would make a electricity kind of sound.
Sometimes I miss having that "skill"
If you are having these same episodes try this out and let me know if it works for you. I'd love to hear if anyone else is able to do what I did.
A teddy bear never scared me this much

Hi kakashi
This girl sure is moving a lot for having sleep paralysis
Your eyes and fingers can move just not your arms or anything that can actually help you move
Your not completely paralyzed you can more your fingers but its very very scary she wanted to scream and run but thats all she could do
This happens to me as I go to sleep. The only thing I can control is my breathing. I breathe quickly enough and my wife would hear my rapid breathing and out and touch me. Which would wake me enough to move.
It’s pretty accurate to when I had it. Sleep paralysis obviously isn’t the same thing as being completely paralyzed so I don’t know why you commented
It's for acting
To help me wake up from sleep paralysis, I really try to force my body to move as much as I can and I slowly feel myself waking up.
I do the same with nightmares
Like whenever I dream I am in a game, and I was pretty screwed up
I was like nope, no i wanna quit. Wake up
I had the same thing! When I have it, I start shaking my head but I just can’t. I can see someone is comming to me and I start shaking and shaking but it doesn’t work. Sometimes I have a feeling that my body gets lifted up in the air and my body is moving through my room but I just can’t do anything. This is really terrifying.
Same! I have to really focus though, and keep telling my mind to move, and eventually it works
Yea me too bro
Yh I do that aswell and sometimes I can't breath and I feel like I'm dying then I force myself to wake up. Really terrifying

Ok...........that is way......scary then seeing a demond on the cornor
Lol I have sleep paralysis and nobody trys to kill me or anything i kinda just lay there I guess I'm blessed

I don’t know how to explain what happens to me but at least I don’t think anyone is trying to kill me
@Caveman Spongebob that happened to me once but i dont think im blessed

Yes,i had this dream.
Two puppets were hurting me to dead.
I could not scream,i tought i was going to die so i started crying...
Then i woke up and i was alive.
I once had a dream where I was in a white museum like thing but it was empty and everything I see was black and white and the worst part?i tried speaking but whenever I speak I stark choking for a few seconds.Luckily there were nothing scary there. All I had to do is to not speak and wait until the dream ends.i was just in an empty room with some people and I couldn’t speak.
@@vthedork6924 i had that too. Question do you have any chronic pain like lower back , tennis elbow....etc?
@azza its not in all of my dreams but i feel the same way in them i just am like frozen
Once in a dream I was trying to scream to my mum that a guy with a weapon was coming towards us but for some reason it didn’t work

Always worked, usually only need to try one time
Yes,. Try hard to Wriggle your toes and fingers, this can unparalyze yourself then it will leave, if it doesn't. Get the vacuum cleaner going lol
But I get it while I was trying to fall asleep

I once had sleep paralysis and instead of fighting it I just tried to relax and give in. I ended up feeling like I was falling, then strange, beautiful portals appeared. I created a body and flew over a sci-fi city (lucid dreaming, of course). I haven't feared sleep paralysis since. It's a great way of entering lucid dreams quickly once you master letting go instead of trying to fight the paralysis.
Wow, thats cool...
Wow next time I will try
I used to get that falling feeling after my my bed vibrated
Same happened with me and much more ...

I was having a nightmare and I won’t like to experience that
So, to sum up: next time you awaken in a cold sweat, only to discover that you are totally paralysed and overcome with a mounting feeling of dread as you see a huge shadow standing over you in the darkness... JUST RELAX

If you can move a little bit raise your hands it’s like if you break a field and you wake up
Loud bangs like pounding on a door.
I will never forget waking up face down in a pillow while paralysed; suffocating, unable to move.
Scariest thing I've ever experienced.

If you ever get scared think of everday bro from jake paul even demons are scared of that
My first experience of sleep paralysis occurred when I was sleeping in a room with my cousins and I felt as if someone (many someones) were trying to turn me to my left side, I heard voices, snickering and creepy whispers... Oh God I will never forget that, the certainty that you are being crushed to death and you can't even cry for help, the fear is like nothing I have ever known and I hope to God I never feel it again..I was praying so hard for someone to wake me up..

Just realized I sound like I'm 8 or something.
I Try At Life HAHAHA
Mike V when you get used to it, it won't be scary, and might be able to get out of it easier than before
Silver Steel maybe for some people.
Mike V sorry for your loss ):
Mike V YOURE NOT HELPING

Tip of Advice.
Try moving the fingers feet and hands it requires less effort than to move the whole body. When you manage to move your fingers then this is the time you can move the limbs and after that you can now move your body.
In my case when my body is in sleep paralysis I just let it be and during that time i chose to close my eyes until i come back to sleep. I prioritize my rest over my fears.

TXF Had my experiences but nothing visual and only auditory hearing voices and most recently clunking sounds from the walls which my room typically looked altered before but was identical that time and felt like I was really hearing things.

for me i was chilling in bed and felt sooo tired and just drop asleep and after i hear laughing and scratching. couldnt move at all or speak but could breath fine. which made me think it was not near me enough to choke me but to scare me enough to make me freeze. guys whenever this happens NEVER OPEN YOUR EYES IF YOU CAN! i learnt the hard way when one i opened my eyes and i saw the tall black figure just staring at me for about 5 seconds then started screaming and my whole body went numb and i saw a thin body of me and my actual body still in bed and i when i realised i jumped straight back into my body and closed my eyes and then i woke up with me feeling very cold and my heart racing. not a fun feeling. since then ive had this for about a year or 2. so i have enough experince where i know what to do and it works. like sqeezing even the smallest muscle would work or trying to do something to hurt ur body or just breath nice and slow but not too slow and try to get calm.
Every time I experience sleep paralysis I always tell myself "wiggle your big toe".

It's way harder for me, am 10 and get it every week it's fucking SCARY
I pray to God and ask help. cuz always demons come to my dream and dont let me wake up but I see my room. its between sleeping and awaken mode. Also close my eyes tightly and try to open it will help me to wake up. I do it few times to wake up
"People have died from this" alright I'm done watching.
According to some bull shit Phillipino folk lore.
+Absolutely Deplorable it ain't bullshit. I had a cousin once who never woke up- er more like never moved as though in a coma or shit
Homero Martinez That is truly awful. But many things could have damaged your cousin. Sleep paralysis is unlikely. A brain clot is more likely. While they feel frightening in the moment, you don't need to fear for the safety of your loved ones if they ever report having sleep paralysis.
this, h
I've had sleep paralysis once before, and unfortunately my eyes were open and i panicked, i was very young at the time too. All i remember is a scary white face standing over the top of me looking down at me, and i tried screaming "mummy!!!! mummy!!!!!" but nothing was coming out of my mouth and i couldn't move. This experience was genuinely traumatising though and i feel uneasy talking about it.
I am now afraid that I might have sleep paralysis tonight just by watching this video.
Someone make a phobia name for a fear of sleep paralysis.

Psych2Go why is it, i only get it when im sleeping on my back. i never sleep on my back anymore because im afraid it'll happen again.
its happens to me quite alot
Ikr i thought im gonna die now when i first had it the experience was horrifying...
i sleep on my stomach and get it all the time
Zu Zu Tha't basically happened to me too... It's as if someone/something monitoring u... Scary stuff
Zu Zu I get this all the time and it happens no matter what position I’m in
I don't experience hallucinations but i experience a more life threatening event.

OH MY GOD IM SCARED TO GO SLEEP

I wake up paralysed and then it's like I pop out of my body and I am in my room but everything is darker, it happens often lately. Everything was like a darker tint but sharper and my bathroom light was on but I couldn't see it.
I experience this too
You know that's all in your head right? You imagined all that happening to you because of the simple fact that you believe in those religious stories and that's exactly what you feared while in a sleep paralysis.

I wouldn't mostly be scared of the monsters that would appear, but the fact that I can't move, it terrifies me so bad.
I've had sleep paralysis many times and I always see a shadow figure on my left side and then I'm trying to move and wake but I can't it's scary.
Solveig Bolliger lol
my mother always used to tell my sister and I, a scary story about how a demon tried to choke her when she was sleeping. She saw a black figure that was holding a pillow, stoping her from breathing. She would always conclude the small detail of her being unable to move the whole time. It took us five years to realise there was even a thing called sleep paralysis.

Krissi_Sue yea that is normal you hallucinate when you have sleep paralysis sometimes. It didn't really happen. Only you saw and heard that
Carolann Cuebas Its probably because your mind and body are both telling you that you're dreaming, so, it's like a mesh of a dream and the real world.

Something similar happened to me I was living alone. in the middle of the night I felt a weight on the mattress behind me. I was sleeping on my side the weight just stayed there behind my back just as if a person had crawled into bed behind me.
So here is how it basically feels:
Most of the time you just can't move, you're pressurized but not being pushed downwards, you're just being held.
Mali Thetic screw you XD I thought I your profile picture was a piece of hair on my phone
This is so crazily accurate to me I’ve had sleep paralysis ever since I can remember and I’m also a lucid dreamer and I always find sleep paralysis to be a good gateway to it since I’m half asleep and half awake I can consciously start thinking about the thing I want to dream about until I’m actually dreaming about it
Mali Thetic in my case, i wake up and instantly try to scream, it automatically happens and i cant control that...
Mali Thetic my friend and I get constant sleep paralysis and she told me a story about when the Ugandan knuckles came out of her closet
