Port Fourchon, Louisiana

Port Fourchon, Louisiana is a mega oil port, located at Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, on the Gulf of Mexico. It is a sea port, with significant petroleum industry traffic from offshore Gulf oil platforms and drilling rigs as well as the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port pipeline. Fourchon services deepwater oil and gas exploration, drilling, and production in the Gulf of Mexico. Port Fourchon services over 90% of the Gulf of Mexico's oil production. There are over 600 oil platforms within a 40-mile radius of Port Fourchon. This area furnishes 16 to 18 percent of the US oil supply. This port is amazing by any standards.

This is my backyard. I'm from Galliano, 25 miles north of here. I've worked here, flew helicopters out of here, & do a lot of fishing around Fourchon. A lot of out of state people make there living here. Port Fourchon, the gateway to the Gulf.
