Cant believe the owner only laid over in Singapore for 2 days when he was a kid, and claims his restaurant as Singapura. The dishes cant totally represent Singapore dishes. That's unethically misleading consumers.
The Singapore restaurant food totally isn’t authentic at all, water chilli crab, wrong buns for the chilli crab. Another one of those restaurants that tries to be something but ends up being more of an Americanised version of the dish.
and yet people there are thankful because there is literally no other place where you can get sg food out there O_o stfu or open your own resto if you're feeling better
Yes, Anthony Bourdain did mention his favourite breakfast food in the world is Sarawak Laksa, not Penang Laksa. You got it wrong there. Either way both are from Malaysia.
@@Surreal1640 Sarawak Laksa is more like Curry Laksa with coconut juice in it, but it also has tamarind in it to make it sour. But it is a subtle sour taste and not overwhelming. Most laksa enthusiasts in the world prefer Sarawak Laksa because it does not have the fish smell and taste that Penang Laksa has.
agreed. Their version of chilli crab, the sauce is too runny. SG's version is more "thick" with the eggs slightly sort of scrambled to give the sauce more body and creaminess.
Kopitiam actually serves soup pan mee. Their food was packaged for take out, and that's why the soup was separated. If you dine in, the soup is already combined in the bowl.
its a personal preference. I like Ya Kun's kaya toast, but my wife likes Toast Box's kaya toast. Some people like myself love the thin, almost buscuity toast that Ya Kun offers. Others prefer thicker, fluffier toast that toast box offers.
Ya Kun's kaya way better than Toast Box, but I prefer their steamed bread cos the toast ones are too thin for my liking lol. And their soft boil eggs are awesome too! Oh ya, those in the video is missing soy sauce in the eggs.
As a Singaporean, Kopitiam looks way better than Laut. Laut looks too pretentious. Kopitiam's food is what you'll find on the streets of Malaysia and Singapore which is the point of street food.
Greetings from Malaysia. It's awesome to see the Fung Bros promoting Malaysian and Singaporean food in this episode. Been following and subscribing your channel and my whole family likes to watch your channel a lot. Thumbs up to the Fung Bros...!!!

Me: Umm we (My & SG) basically eat the same thing
Exactly.
I was laughing my ass off when they say cross over , Mate Singapore has only been independent for 55 years ... Typical Americans 🤦🏽♂️
Very true.. Lol..
Not really, only for some states in Malaysia, for example here in Kelantan we don't eat what Singaporean eat
