I'm playing in standard tuning. It would be more authentic to tune down to D standard, and play that F open. I just dont have roadies to change my tuning, and would have to tune between songs.
Tabs say it's . 4-1-1-1 E string and the 1 on the A string . You're playing lower on the neck I don't read music and wondered if these are the same notes ?
Same notes, an octave higher. If you listen to the record (or whatever media) you can here the bass drop to the lower octave near the ends of the song. Look what I do just after 6:34. The second time Plant sings "Going Down, going down" the bass goes down. They were funny like that.

I do know what an octive is but don't know where different notes on different strings are all I can do is read bass tab and I can barely do that . I can play the course to many songs but when it starts changing I get lost. But practice makes perfect I guess . Thanks 👍🏻
