JD, you speak the absolute truth about when the enemy attacks!!!!! I noted that years ago in my personal life. I find it best to pray and get close to Jesus when I know I am most vulnerable. It works! Thank you again, JD for bringing the Bible to life and teaching an excellent lesson.

Dear brother in Christ, JD, God bless you richly in the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for your wonderful teaching on the book of Esther. It has come up a few times in the series that Haman is a descendant of Agag, the king of the Amalakites that Saul saved alive when God told him to utterly destroy everyone. Though Saul did save Agag alive, Samuel immediately carried out the destruction of Agag. (1 Samuel 15:32-33) So Agag did NOT live though some of his descendants must have lived on.

at the Purim "parties" they read the book of Esther and whenever the name of Haman is read they boo and hiss. When Esther or Mordacai are mentioned they cheer. Just a bit of trivia. I've attended a few.

I heard a study by Chuck Missler years ago, where he explained that the 10 sons of Haman represented 10 qualities of our sinful nature. This study was said to be taken from a book by the late pastor Ray Stedman. It is unknown to me if these names are actually representative of the various qualities of our flesh nature. But it is an interesting possibility, especially considering that the 10 were hanged, and Scripture tells us to, "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature..." (Colossians 3:5)The symbolism of the names of the 10 sons of Haman (Esther 9:7-10) was said to be as follows (from my notes):Parshandatha: "the curious self" (meddler, busybody)Dalphon: "the weeping self" (self pity)Aspatha: "the assembled self" (self sufficient)Poratha: "the generous self" (self indulgent)Adalia: "the weak self" (self conscious)Aridatha: "the strong self" (self assertive)Parmashta: "the preeminent self" (competitive, ambitions)Arisai: "the bold self" (imprudence)Aridai: "the dignified self" (pride, superiority)Vaizatha: "the pure self" (self righteousness)

It was on Mount Sinai that God gave Moses the dates and observances of the seven feasts. Here are their names:
    Passover (Pesach) - Nisan 14-15
Unleavened Bread (Chag Hamotzi) - Nisan 15-22
First Fruits (Yom habikkurim) - Nisan 16-17
    Pentecost (Shavu'ot) - Sivan 6-7
    Trumpets (Yom Teru'ah) - Tishri 1
Atonement (Yom Kippur) - Tishri 10
    Tabernacles (Sukkot) - Tishri 15-22
