My recommendation for the J6 is to turn down the accents of the stlye, also some sounds have different ressonance levels which you can control to tame some of the sounds you don't like.
Hi, I have 3 of these (s1, p6 and t8). About the loudness: You should be able to control each of the devices in volume. However the routing of the signal trough the p6 is different. When you put it in a mix-in-out chain you best put the p6 in the begin. That is because the p6 is the only device that also controls the volume of the mix in. Another option is to use a mixer.
Thanks so much, I learn so much from comments like yours. I have never actually tried putting the P6 first in the chain, but I shall experiment with that. I actually have a Roland Go Mixer Pro, but I haven’t used it for a while - I mainly use it for my electric piano (not yet featured on my channel). Thanks again, I really appreciate your thoughts!
@@chrismartin6690 The usb c cable (when connected to either the T8 or the J6 and your iPhone or iPad) should at least charge the device. Do you see a little yellow light on the top left of your device when you do this?
@@Gold_Music_Vault Thanks for your help I have now resolved by a bit of research and then doing a factory reset, I dont know what why it worked but they now connect to both my Windows PC, Iphone and Ipad , Thanks again for your help
Sampler volume is not really a P-6 issue. With any sampler u will probably have simillar problem. I do not know any sampler that have automatic volume mix. One thing that I do not like is the potentiometers instead of encoders that cause value jumps. Sonicware solve it nice with latch function that wait for encoder to catch up witch the value of each function. With a lot of functions on limited knobs it helps to wrap myself around what is going on. This I would like to see on any other music gear with more than one func per knob.
Ahh, I see. The P-6 is my first ever sampler, so good to know this isn’t an isolated issue. My work around for now is to pre-prep my samples before jamming, and trying to remember to turn the sample volume down before playing them - then sort of bringing the volume up like a DJ.
@Gold_Music_Vault every sample have its own velocity, so u just have to balance every sample apart. Good to record them at similar gain (there are leds that show the vel input in rec mode). Or maybe I do not understand the issue... idk.
I don't think there is anything that beats T-8 in making accid groves- my 10yo son loves to do it- S-1 is SH-1 on steroids. Those are the 2 that i got- but i won't be getting others for simple reason- screan. Im just hobbyist and deciphering those hieroglyphs is annoying. It wouldn't cost much more to add proper lcd - behringer does that on even cheaper devices for example. Best wishes!
Hieroglyphs is hilarious haha! Yeah, I wish they had a bigger screen - I'd be willing to pay more for that. Glad your son is enjoying them - I will get my toddler to play with them when she is a bit older :)
agree with a lot of this but they are so addictive like not knowing for sure whats going to happen when you start something which is what is fun about these.
Take what i say with salt, i never tried these. Im looking forward to receiving the S-1 tomorrow Its a pitty about the t8s step length! Especially for fills in the 4th bar imo. Maybe there's a way to play it read the sequencer half speed? I trick i use a few times on orher grooveboxes that allow it. Otherwise, id reccomend using the s1 for your bass line, and the t8's synth as a more random acid sound where a shorter loop doing it's thing is okay. Thanks for the video and have fun!
@@Sadiquecat wow, I think you might have just solved my biggest issue! I will try using the T-8 at 50% of the BPM to double the step length… Also, great idea to use the S-1 as a bass line, it’s actually more versatile than the T-8 Bassline sounds to be fair. Enjoy your S-1 tomorrow!
@@Gold_Music_Vault On the T8 there's a setting called Sync Clock (ScLK) which lets you adjust the length of a step. Though this only works when synced via sync jack, not via midi.

@@arunasvadeisa3181 The E-4 looks very intriguing, if I can sell my J-6 for a decent price then I might get one. You’re right, the P-6 can do so much - I actually only carry the P-6 around with me when I’m out and about since it’s so powerful.

0:41 it's STEPS; not "beats." The T8 sequencer is only 32 steps while other boxes in the range are 64 steps long.

The S-1 is a full fledged synth. With any real synth, if you dont know what you're doing, you can ruin the sounds.
@@ThePointingArrows 100%! I actually think the S-1 is the hardest of the 4 devices to master.
