@@djdedan yes and no. Hunters are quite literally built different. The player hunter especially. Most average hunters can take a single rathalos fireball (in armor) and live. Hunters like the Admiral or the Player character are much more rare in that they regularly fight threats that are known to wipe out whole towns.

I love the rampages. My favorite content by far. I always liked the more gimmicky elements of monster hunter.

Umm...dragonator/wyvernshot objectives never progress for me unless a monster is actually repelled by them. Using them and not getting a final blow with them left the objective refusing to mark off
Something worth noting: Use utushi when the apex calls in more monsters the first time. This solves the issue of the other monsters and lets you get burst damage in. If you play decently solo, the apex will die very soon after it calls in monsters a second time.

I wish people would read that master utsushi dose make all monster in range mountable so they don't waste it on the apex when it's alone
Yeah its nice for ride bursts, but I personally rarely see extra monsters with Ibushi ever since I made the Nargacuga bow (the pierce shots rip his airsacs and keep him on the ground more often then not)

Can i ask the next tutorial be the wyvern riding monster combos? I honestly do most of them by accident and im really not sure how to do some moves. Like Mizu water beam for example or Barroth Mud throw
you can change the attack with the directional stick
Yes forward and back directional input affects the move used. For example mizu's water beam is a light attack combo while holding back.

Rampage mode, the game mode so FUN they force you to do it to unlock other monster. It is so stupid and annoying solo. Especially how they force you to fight the apex in rampage mode before you can unlock it in regular mode.

So having gotten a Switch recently to play MH Rise everything was going so well and it has so fun. But SCREW the Rampage quests.
Rise is a fun addition to MH but I hate the Rampage quests with all my being. They are infuriating and so rage inducing.

After the third one I was forced to do to progress I just uninstalled and that pisses me off. I have like 600 hours in World and I wanted that experience here as well. i havn't played Mh rise myself but i really really don't like what i am seeing so far. I mean you can barly see the monster during the fight because of so many effects and Interfaces. I mean 4 players are a lot to handle in a fight but plus 4 palicos is just chaotic. Is it really like that or is this just my view.

I understand your frustration with it, to be honest it's a lot more fun in Multiplayer because it helps tone down the utter chaos that comes with playing Rampage solo
@@deinonychus1948 the problem with doing it multiplayer, is that no matter how many times you remind them the other players ignore the objectives, and can result in you getting less rewards.
They suck ass, especially locking out the apex monsters until you kill them in a crowbarred in tower defense mode. I bought monster hunter to hunter monsters not play some tower defense worse than free WC3 maps.

I did an apex rathian rampage solo and it was the most stupid bullshit unfair trash I’ve ever experienced in a video game, couldn’t do anything as it kept knocking me over even though it was no where near me, really awful design.

My second Rampage ever was the one against the Apex Azuros with my Insect Glaive. I fainted 3 times and only won because the time was up.
Yet it was fun.
What would you say are better on a rampage, Balista or Canon ?
Ballista's crag and retreat shots are really useful. Cannon does aoe and pierce damage and can also inflict thunderblight in aoe. Ballista and cannon are so different that one cannot be "better" than the other. You have to adapt on the fly in response to the rampage, so you'll be using both.

Canon is more for area control and ballista is better dps and oppression
Edit: a wyvern fire should be placed in a gate facing the right side of the gate cause monsters go to attack it on that side

@@dad5draco Yea, Apex’s are the more realistic idea that CapCom wanted Deviants to be. Deviants were too much of a thing that does not exist in our own world. Being born with certain things to make you more powerful....maybe....surviving attacks and becoming stronger because of it? Never heard of a mutation caused by an attack of any sort while a creature was alive(it have to be over decades of evolution as you’d know). Apex’s are instead monsters that have learned and gained experience while in the wild from what we can read in their ecology bios. They have trained and risen to the top of the food chain, something much more common to what can happen in our own world.
Sorry for the rant, but the idea behind it is honestly great. I’d love CapCom to keep all this up 😍

I'm sad, due to not hearing about the dlc gestures bug I cant access my Monster Hunter Rise character...that was almost 100hrs just...ugh

I wish we could choose or at least see beforehand in which Fortress we have to fight. Having to fight Apex Mizutsune in the small "S" shaped fortress sucks since you can barely place any Siege Weapons in decent places.
There’s only two, and you can tell which you’re in from the quest screen. Black and Red.
I've S+ ranked a couple of Low Ranks (trying to finish every quest, should be entering High Rank today or tomorrow). It was a bit hectic at first while I learned how all the defenses worked, but I really do find it to be a fun way to mix things up a bit between regular hunting sessions. That sort of variety is something I thought was lacking in Stories (though I still thought they knocked the battle system out of the park) and hope Wings of Ruin takes a page from Rise in some way.
Watching you and josh play that rampage yesterday was painful because no one used the secondary or tertiary firing modes.
Ah yes, their first time seeing it, just having fun, and being entertaining for the video. Surely they want to tryhard the rampage, not simply experience it. It’s perfectly doable with basic ammo, and it’s not like we’ve had it any alternative ammo before
@Shasvin Puvanesvaran I’m not sure what your point is, if you are referring to the tryhard thing, that was sarcastic, you don’t need to tryhard at all to do good in rampages, especially in the first ones
I hope when/if we get an apex diablos its just bloodbath; model and all. Also apex quests would be interesting if they have plans to add special armor.

I did notice that normal Diablos in Rise does the move that Bloodbath likes to do which is to slam his tail into the floor and hurl mounds of rock at you, I'm not sure if old Diablos ever did that but I know Bloodbath does
@@deinonychus1948 Good catch, I knew that move looked familiar on him. Lots of monsters took lessons from Rajang it seems, lots of flying Rocks.
Anyway, normal Diablos never had that move and I don't recall it on Black either. I assume we can attribute it to Rise Hunters beeing so fast and so agile that they had to give him something to challenge us with (And boy, being sniped out of the air is kinda fun, they are super accurate with it sometimes) and since deviants arent coming to 5th gen aside from the new Apexes I think they just tapped into their movepool. Bloodbath is giving a lot of people a hard time after all lol

Well I would have to rewatch to check but it is possible if he was using a blast weapon he may have been trying to trigger brights to achieve a quest goal.
I sadly know that you van succeed with a d rank....apex arzuros was not kind to me the first time around.
(I did finally get s+ on my 3rd attempt at it, just had to switch my weapon apparently :'3)
pro tip against Apex Arzuros, BRING STUN RESISTANCE, I didn't on my first run and that beast inflicts Stun almost every 1-2 hits!

I like the rampage, but Ive played with a focused group. I could see why getting randos who dont know/care how to do the sub objs could be really annoying
at least playing in multiplayer means more targets for the monsters to choose so you get targetted less

Haha...yeah...my first time fighting that Apex Arzuros on launch day to enter High Rank was a D Rank. Managed to actually KILL the bastard but it was after three torturous carts as I was doing the entire Hub solo.
I had people help me and I still carted twice. I think it would be better if when the Apex appears it's just the Apex
you absolutely need Stun Resistance if you want to not cart again that fiend! every second hit inflicts Stun and if you're playing solo, he'll most likely target you!
Actually cotton you can just press R to see the next page on the quest info to see the objectives, you don't even have to accept it.

Farming Narwa is far better as each part is worth 80 instead of defender 7 tickets being worth 70 and you get very few of those even on a S+ compared to the trove of parts you'll get from Narwa since it's very easy to break all of her parts and if you have good luck equipped bring gathering cats and eat for miracle worker you'll have a ton of parts. And the fight on average for me is shorter than a rampage. I can usually kill her just under 15min while rampage takes much longer if you want the bigger tickets because you have to do 3 waves instead of 2.
Whats miracle worker? A buff?
That moment when 3 randos join your [REDACTED (spoiler)] rampage and y’all have perfect synergy and get S+

I nearly lost my first apex rampage against arzuros. Went in solo and wasn't prepared for the power spike that occurred.

I'm just in the rampage to have fun. Due to how many I've done, my skills have naturally improved. I've also gotten lots of chances to take a look at how others tackle it as well.
My main tip is this: Traps and flash bombs. If placed/ timed right, they can significantly slow down the hoard.
First rampage I did I won solo...without using any of the villager NPC installations. Why did I do this? Because I was an idiot who didn't read the tutorial so I didn't realize that was a possibility. Was a pain in the ass trying to fight the entire rampage alone like that...really kicked myself after I found out that I didn't need to do that >.>;;

yes the machine cannon is what it is called in game.
Yep, it's the machine cannon. Wyvern Rides are VERY useful in Rampages. I could be wrong, but I think Wyvern Ride attacks are also affected by the counter signal
I kinda like the rampage but I’ve only done it twice so far. One solo and once with a random team. Solo I got a B and with the fandom team I got an A. The elemental is what I never complete cause I don’t fight with an elemental weapon and the monster leave before the siege weapons can proc it usually. When I was with the random group though the monster got to the final gate by the 2nd horde with one group left and the boss and the gate held. I was surprised we got A cause when I played solo they got no where near the gate and I got a B. I haven’t got apex monster or anything yet. I haven’t gotten the rampage system down well yet.
Have S+'d a rampage with 2 friends missing 2 objectives once. Rampage isn't that hard IMO, not something I'm going to farm when I have the drops for the decorations I need.
I have done only two so far, both for village one you have to do and did an additional one trying to figure out what to do specifically in them, get the basics but I do find it tough.
My first village 3 was completed with B rank I believe, and thought I did really well but B rank not that great honestly
The second I did went very bad I thought but got an S rank there, so went much better then the first (even fainted once) not yet S+ rank though.
Also the first Hub you MUST do, is that difficult? Can't progress HR without it, but also don't have a Nintendo online account yet, so must solo it. Maybe I follow these tips and the one from Arekkz as well 🤔

Use dragonator or wyvernshot are not "just use them" you need to repel a monster with their "first" hit.

One thing, "use the S. Wyvernshot or dragonator" is misleading, it doesn't mean use them, it means get repels with them, if you use one and don't repel anything it won't increase the number, is you use one and repel 3 monsters with it then your number goes up by 3

Just 2, if I recall correctly. You can do them solo. It can be a bit stressful, but not too bad lol.
I think the village has 2 mandatory, and then HR I think has another 1 or 2 mandatory. Yes, you can solo.

Rampage to me is something like the old sieges. Doing them once or twice from time to time is fine but farming them is annoying. I wouldn't say the gameplay is great but it's welcome variety.
However it doesn't really make sense to me. Villagers are too scared to fight monsters on the plains but they fight a full horde close quarters. I mean it's nice that they finally help but it's a bit too close for comfort. Then the monsters themselfes. Normally monsters aren't exactly friendly around each other but now they attack coordinated? You can put that to the force in the lore but surely if that force can keep them from attacking each other it should be capable of preventing them from fleeing after they get hit twice. And then there is the counter signal. It's way to strong to not use it outside of rampages. I'm sure we could put a gong on some kind of pulley and take it to normal quests as well.
I don't know. While the gameplay is fine the whole concept seems unfitting of monster hunter to me.
Also why don't we see apex monsters outside of rampage quests? They have to come from somewhere.

That's because handling monster in the field is a hunters job, lore-wise in Rampage hunts; their entire village is being threatened, a normal citizen for example wouldn't run out to stop a hardened criminal at the local mall just because they 'could' help but if said hardened criminal was trying to knock down their fence and charge into their house, they'd do your best to stop the criminal from getting in
They are 'Coordinated' because they are all spooked by a powerful beast roaming the area and they are in a state of hysteria, attacking them until they flee is the monster equivalent of someone being overcome with fear and you having to slap them to snap them out of their 'trance'

@@fabianschultz yeah, I agree on that but what about breathing and hunting underwater, jumping on a monsters back, grappling onto their face and straight up controlling them? they also seem weird and unrealistic as well
the point is that this is Capcom experimenting with new game features and seeing what works
and lets be real; Rampages are far more engaging and intense than the majority if not all previous siege fights and their chaotic nature actually works because that is how a monster stampede would feel like, chaotic, pandemonium galore and things can fly out of your control very fast
they could have given a better explanation but at least they gave us one
@@deinonychus1948 at least for me they aren‘t more engaging than the old sieges. But opinions are opinions so thats fine. The new wyvernriding weirds me out as well. And honestly after xeno and safi I don’t question the lore anymore.
Btw ist wasn‘t complaining. Might have sounded like it. it was just a thought. Rampages are honestly fine since you don’t have to do them often. And other experiments like the switchskill system are really awesome. I‘m not a fan of the petallace thingy.

Rampage tickets are used to augment weapons. Also gives lots of general parts and a few unique weapons due to apex level monster parts.
Lots of parts of monsters you fight. I'm not sure if the rarity is higher but I literally just did a zinogre one and got 3 wyvern gems and a mizu plate

Nope. So far only Arzuros, Rathian and Mizutsune. And those are basically just their Deviant counterparts from Generations.
Technically yes and no.
In Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate there was a Rajang called the Apex Rajang, but this is also back when you’d have monsters (the original Apex’s) that would be afflicted with the Frenzy Virus, and if they overcame it and learned to control it to some degree’s they would be cone Apex monsters. BUT being that Gore Magala is not in Rise(atleast, not at the moment) there is likely no plans for there to be an Apex Rajang in Rise. Being that the Apex monsters are more or less Deviants but brought into a more realistic manner like they Monster Hunter team wanted all along. They reason they are coming back now is that the team did not like the idea of Deviants as they like to keep the creatures of monster Hunter realistic to our own. Apex monsters in rise are described as being monsters that have risen to the top of the food chain through rigorous combat and experience in the wild. Meanwhile Deviants (as far as I remember) were monsters that had unique features that made they more powerful and stronger, one of a kind beasts/very very rare creatures.
Sorry to give all the info, but in the best way it is a “Yes No” question. Yes there is an Apex Rajang that HAS existed in the series. But if we ask about if it is, or will be in Rise, then No or at least not at the moment(CapCom could surprise us with a new monster and Apex’s could just be VERY similar to Deviants as a coincidence).

Is it wrong that I use all the rampage tickets all for melding? Outside of the hunting horn, it seems like the weapons aren’t too keen to use (although I haven’t fully explore the options yet).
Still, I want hoping for a “how to rampage” video to pop up in order to get the most out of a those hunts.
I say this with utmost sincerity- I *truly* despise these rampages
nothing like using a dragonator and/or splitting wyvernshot 7 times in a rampage and the game only registering 3 of them to the objective of activating one 4 times
I honestly think rampage is a really fun mode and do hope it comes back in some way pr another in future games along with monster sieges.
As much as i dislike the side objectives that require using the mounted weapons ( i just dont find it fun :/ I have hammer. I want bonk! D:< ) I think theyre a pretty neat thing.
Id love to see swimming come back as well. Water combat was so neat, and actually what brought me into MH to begin with in Tri. In fact, id like to see a lot of mechanics come back from tri, like the torches and needing light in dark areas, etc. It made combat super interesting and intense and spooky at times.
I enjoy Rampage hunts. I only wish there was Apex armors.
I’m writing this before seeming the video...worst boringness is trying to keep that noob gate alive ...not a fan of tower defense , so I despise doing rampage with a passion, raging passion 🤔👅

Only gotten S rank so far. Kind of hate the rampage gimmick though. Not sure why either. Just don't really enjoy them. Feels like filler to make the game easier. MH Rise overall feel much, much easier than any other title. (I did not play World/Iceborn.)

So about rampage weapons being good....
As a greatsword main, no, the greatsword is garbage. Since on GS you only want raw, and the weapon has relatively low raw you're better off with any one of Goss harag, tigrex or nargacuga. Is it unviable? No, but it is weak enough that you can't call it good, it's in the joke weapon tier at least for greatsword.
