Holy shit, my friend that had to be the most bad ass throwback video ever seen. Great chords, great sound demos. I had this keyboard brand new in 1984 and you just made my eyes tear up with this video. Congratulations absolutely gorgeous.
Hello Lars ;-) Sorry, I would send you if I had... Another guy asked me the same and we talked by mail. The problem was that I couldn’t find the BULK feature on that synth. (Usually all synths had that option to send patches to macbook) He recommended use Retroaktiv controller to save them (which I don't own). I thought the only way I could save was by cassette and I didn’t have one too… Few weeks later I sold to buy new gear ;-( If I get again the DW and just by coincidence have those patches , or someone in the comments have them , I will make a dropbox folder and add on the video description.
Quoting from the FB-7999 manual: "You can import a DW-6000 or DW-8000 MIDI System Exclusive (SysEx; SYX) data file by clicking “Load SysEx File” in the Options Menu (see below). Whatever is in the file will be executed by FB-7999. Note that the DW mode of a FB-7999 program will be set automatically with respect to the SysEx data format which is a bit different for the DW-6000 and the DW-8000. Furthermore, importing DW-6000 program data will default parameters that are not available on the original hardware to “reasonable” values. This includes setting the digital delay to a Chorus effect. Any (valid) SysEx data that is sent to FB-7999 will be handled appropriately - program dumps and parameter change requests are executed immediately. It is also possible to send a program dump to the MIDI output of FB-7999 using the “Send SysEx Program Data” command in the Options Menu. Note that the SysEx format will be determined by the current DW mode: If “DW-6000 Mode” is active then the SysEx format will follow the DW-6000 convention and cannot be used for a DW 8000 device (and vice versa for the “DW-8000 Mode”). If you want to send a SysEx command for any parameter change within the FB-7999 user interface you have to check the menu entry “Send Parameter Change SysEx” in the sub-menu “Global MIDI Settings…” of the Options Menu (again the SysEx format follows the current DW mode). This way you can use FB-7999 as a software editor for your DW hardware"
Great, really great stuff! I will get the DW-8000 grandson KORG modwave for Christmas! :-) BTW, all those synths in your videos: do you own them? If so, I really envy you!
I never had the chance to play with the MODWAVE, but sure it's a great synth. And these synths, some used to be mine until I sold them . I always keep with me 3 or 4 keyboards maximum (Because I need different type of sounds) but I don't like to collect, I feel very stressed out when I see that 80% of the synths I'm not using, so I get rid of them ;-) (I can use that money for other things when I really need)
I wanted ut badly back in 80-es. Then, in 90-s I've bought its little brother - Poly 800. But that bro was really sick in a sound department, so I sold it . And while listening to your demo I want DW again!!! What are you doing to me ??!!😂
One of the few synths on earth that can emotionally upset me. Next to the OB-Xa this would be my second choice. After that PPG 2.2, 2.3. Studiologic Sledge has some of this Mojo too.
Hey Maccioskull, sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, I sold my Dw long time ago. Anyway, I recommend you to join DW-8000 facebook groups. I'm sure they have the factory preset files there. Good luck!
A few months back I gave my DW-8000 to my keyboard tech.. I was dumping too much $$$ into it trying to keep it going. I got a mono in it's place. Great Synth though.
Hi Gerald. No problem, give me 1 or 2 days that I will be back with the DW again and I save the patches in Sysex format. Contact me here : Chriskeyboards1984@gmail.com

Wow, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm so glad the video brought back good memories ;-)
I never get tired of hearing the DW8000. Thanks for a great demo!
Thanks Matt! I'm glad you enjoyed it ;-)
The brass patch at 2:06 had me mouthing synth-tom fills (then I scrolled down and realized that it's from an actual 1986 song). Sweet playing!
Thank you Brian! I'm glad you enjoyed it! ;-)
Another great one. Your channel is so good dude. Hope you keep these classic synth demos coming! Really enjoyable content
Thank you Hemibass! Sure , more synths coming! ;-)
Super!!! Super!!!! Super!!! The sound is so enveloping and of course your performance.

Which do you prefer, in terms of sound, not features, DW6000 or DW8000?

Are they you're song or they exists? Because that's what I'm searching in terms of 80's. Very nice job Chris.
At least some of them are covers, the first song was Carrie by Europe.
@@j.j.hayden9461 there was also like that sample used in contact by daft punk if I can remember

That song was somehow a bit bad played & improvisated "Sherbs - "We Ride Tonight".
You should play a cover of it
