Vickie is from the generation where gospel singing and singing in general was a sport! That sangin will make you loose your mind, cause it don’t make sense how they go at it! 🔥
Vickie Winans The Lady... One of my favourite albums of all time. Was listening to it last week at work🔥 She was a great inspiration to me when I was a child.
Well deserved spotlight and vocal masterclass on a great Gospel Artist. Beautiful Queen, with a humble, humorous spirit. I never claimed to be a Gospel Singer because she was the standard for me. With her beautiful belting and flawless runs, I could only listen to and marvel😮. (Although I did cover “When” her beautiful smooth song on her “Be Encouraged” album that was my lane😉). Vickie is a trailblazer BOSS Lady who was running her own biz without the help of social media back in the day! She is still showing us class, elegance and what being a well rounded artist looks like. Well done Vickie Winans, and May God continue to bless all that you do. ❤️👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
Absolutely!! Indeed, she did it without the help f Social Media, and these new electronic devices doing half the work for you. But she did it the hard way. She has to write a book! Because I thought most Gospel artists were barely making it, because they are very secretive, but Vicki let us know that she was successful in Gospel music. Awesome interview listening to her!!
This was an incredible showcase of the legendary Vickie Winans. The part that got me was when she said she wasn't born to sing. GOD gave this woman gifts and talents and she allowed GOD TO use her.
congratulations on the interview! I wish this was a two-parter 😂 one part on her career and voice and another part on the interview. this was soooo wonderful!!
This was just amazing. Auntie Vickie is one of the greats. She's so touchable and the epitome of what God intended love to look like and be in the human form. She's simply THE LADY!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting Vickie new years eve 2012 when she came and performed at my church. It was absolutely amazing. I will never forget that night. She sang, she cracked jokes, it was just a wonderful night.
The Lady is her best overall album. Well produced, great songs and she sings extremely well! Other cds might have sold more and received awards. But The Lady remains my favorite.
If jesus is what you are looking for. I’m listening for a Good solid record and excellent vocals, strong songs, lyrically and superb production. The Lady is it. Her other records serve other purposes (and audiences). I don’t necessarily enjoy listening to those records as much as I enjoy listening to The Lady. This one still ‘ministers’ to me so to speak. And that says a lot after all these years. To each one’s own.
I agree. Years ago when I first purchased "The Lady" I was taken back because I was so used to the Live albums. 15 years later I can listen to it on repeat... from start to finish... it is really well done & stands the test of time.
This was an amazing interview. I was smiling from ear to ear listening to Ms. Vickie Winans and watching the review of her amazing performances. Her songs are so integral to Gospel music and the body of Christ. For her to be such a vocal master and music icon and be humble to this day is exemplary. She’s truly a woman of God who recognizes from Whom she received her Gift.
I absolutely love your channel, because it’s so educational. They seriously should be using your videos in school systems. I love learning about artists from before my time. Can’t nobody do it like her! So fabulous, so powerful! The RANGE!!!! Her lows are so low, I didn’t realize she was a soprano. I remember hearing Sandy Patti We Shall Behold Him, and then hearing hers and being moved in a totally different place in my soul, as a little child. I used to play and replay her “My Statue of Liberty “ swearing I was hitting the notes with her (I’m an alto). I was in total awe of her voice and I wasn’t any older than 10. And on the ride’s to church “long as I got King Jesus “ came on the radio and we were all ready to get our praise on clapping and fake shouting in our seats in the car. Vickie is THAT LADY!
I love Vickie Winans Music! She'll awesome! Whether she sings her version of the Contemporary Christian classic "We Shall Behold Him" written by Dottie Ranbo and recorded by Sandi Patti, ballads like "Can I build My Home?" & Stay With Me, Traditional songs like "Long As I Got King Jesus " & "Already Been To The Water", or Urban Contemporary Gospel songs like "Don't Throw Your Life Away " & "Just When" or "Shake Yourself Loose" . It's all good and for the glory of God! Like she said, Nobody can put her in a box! I love the diversity!
