Budhanilkanth is a city and a municipality in Kathmandu District of Bagmati Province, Nepal. It is the third largest city in the Kathmandu Valley after Kathmandu and Lalitpur. As of the 2021 Nepal census, the city had a population of 179,688 and 26,678 households.
Former Village Development Committee was established on December 2, 2014 by merging Hattigowda, Khadka Bhadrakali, Chapali Bhadrakali, Mahankal, Vishnu, Chunikhel and Kapan.
