- This explanation is a bit on the short side, so sorry about that, but the Byakugan didn't leave me with a whole lot to talk about. There were a few extra bits of information that may have been worth tossing in, but eh, they felt extraneous and unnecessary so I didn't worry about them. Brother, sister, mother, father, best friend, girlfriend, wife, etc) and then the eternal mangekyo which is the hardest of all which requires an uchiha to transplant his own brother's or sister's mangekyo sharingan into his, sooooooo yeah the byakugan, is a walk in the park
yea sure... how about Sarada when she thought she would meet to Sasuke poof... and she awakened sharingan in and Himawari opened it because Boruto damaged her favorite toy and that's emotional trauma for her... and the byakugan is the same as 3 tomoe sharingan but the ems is same as tenseigan and yea boruto has tenseigan in one eye and that's almost the same path as ems
yet it's not proven but Ao who had byakugan (not own) he had veins , and boruto have no veins that's seems like tenseigan.
So essentially, the eyes in the naruto universe is super saiyan in db.

I honestly can't see hyuga winning though. Their ability to hit pressure points for example, it's utterly nullified by uchihas' heightened perception, which allows them them to see fast-moving objects and consequently predicting the spots where a person is aiming for. Sasuke is even able to see on a cellular level.. anyone trying to hit his pressure point gotta struggle a lot to even core a point on him lol
true but hyugas have one of the best defensese in the naruto universe. if an uchiha gets hit at any moment it could be gameover

True mangekyō sharingan is dangerous, but in the first phase i think byakugan takes the cake. As a dedicated fan of naruto the byakugan is the one eye we know the least about in my opinion.

Kishimoto has so much favoritism in his writing. There are so many modes to the Sharingan, while the Byagugan only has one form. No mangyeku equivalent. As least the Byakugan doesn't make you blind.

imAChristian I would agree, since it's stronger than sharingan, there are only 4 exceptions in the world that prove otherwise. Those special snowflakes were written to match the highest tier. byakugan has no requirements to unlock unlike upper tier sharingan and is just stronger at base level

I wish they did more with the Hyuga Clan. Though I might not like the Byakugan as much as the Sharingan, the Magenkyo Sharingan and the Rinnegan, I still think it's really cool! The only people that we saw that really used it were Neji and Hinata. Also I'm kind of pissed that Neji died.
My ideas for what the Byakugan should offer, a movement speed buff to help deal with speedsters. Also my ideas for a mangekeyo evolution, it’s gives a boost to all current abilities, including the speed boost, also as a Susanoo equivalent, a chakra mode that gives a similar boost to the gates, and as a Izinagi/izinami technique: the ability to see into the future at the cost of an eye

The only reason we don't like byakugan more than sharingan is because kishimoto decided to absolutely drive byakugan to the point of irrelevancy.
He made the entire uchiha clan so OP and centered throughout the story that sharingan is even more popular than the rinnegan themselves.

Yep, I kinda wish the Hyuuga's had developed more techniques other than just Gentle Fist for their Byakugan. Like ultra-long range sniping with high powered chakra arrows or their very own ocular genjutsu or something...

Well she was chillin in the leaf for years after OG naruto, so perhaps Hinata said "There's this spot, yo." when they were training or something
Or or....or...hear me out...Kaguya was shocked of what was about to happen to her. ( Was about to be sealed) panicked and tried to dodge by flying up. Not knowing Sakura was above her and got punched, causing her to go back down and gave them a chance to seal her away.

Bluntly, it's a far more powerful technique than even mangekyo, no one just uses it to it's full potential. The ability to see chakra and have 10km 360' degree vision is utter total bullshit that the sharigan can't compare with, but would make fights utter snore fests. (So i actually acted like a ninja and locked their chakra from a blind spot...)

Not sure if you're joking cuz I don't get the joke.. Locked their chakra? Whaa? The Byakugan isn't a fighting Dojutsu... It isn't combat orientated. Usually a fighter is in front of you by 3-4 metres... and seeing inside won't help at all. The Sharingan is combat orientated.. predicting moves, copying moves etc. The only combat merits the Byakugan has are techniques that were made to utilise the Dojutsu and not the Dojutsu itself, e.g hitting chakra points.

I feel like this is one of the most under development concepts in Naruto. I mean imagine if Neji was able to further develop his skills, and add a change in chakra nature!!!
Lets be honest, Neji was pretty close to developing the Kamahamaha. I was sad to see him go.

It was under developed because they only paid 99% percent of their attention to Naruto and Sasuke and thus the abilities they used. So while the Sharingan had a buried treasure worth of techniques to learn, the Byakugan only stuck with its basic themes.
Not to mention the basic abilities of the sharingan, genjutsu and percerption, were completly trashed in favor of cool looking OP ninjutsu abilities like summoning mafia boss pinochio to destroy mountains with his katana. Really bads stroy writing in my opinion, i liked the mangekyou sharingan powers but i felt the sharingan lost its purpose in the manga/anime in favor of becoming this amazing source of strenght that grants you unfair godlike powers.

As far as design goes, I think the Rinnegan is the best, but the Byakugan is the best of the three dojutsu in terms of practical use

Hard to say. As you yourself said, the Byakugan is 'underwhelming'. That is to say, it doesn't grant you any super 'challenge the gods' level ability's like Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, Susanoo, Izanagi, or Izanami or whatever the hell that dimension technique Obito uses.

I wish they would have stated if being able to express chakra out of every one of your chakra points is something intrinsically tied to the Byakugan or if it's just a completely separate benefit that only the Hyuga have.

No the veins are caused by the user pumping in chakra to the byakugan in order to activate it.
So the veins are just the chakra-paths that swelled up from actively pumping it into the eye. They’re not the actual eye‘s veins.

The blind spot of a byakugan is not at the top of the users head but on the third vertebra (As Kidomaru discovers)

I wouldn't say Byakugan is underwhelming compared to the standard sharingan. Byakugan has many advantages over a sharingan user. I think the best episode that would've highlighted that is when Zabuza Blinds Kakashi's sharingan by using the Hidden Mist Jutsu. If a Hyuga was there, the mist would have no effect. And really there's no way you can hide or sneak up on a Hyuga

Except when Sakura punched Kaguya and she didn't see it coming... The fact in my opinion, the Byakugan has the wrong abilities for big fights. Seeing chakra is a nice addition if you're a scout or specializing in espionage, but in a full-out war-scale battle, it come up pretty short compared to other Dojutsu.
i think byakugan is a visual prowess that isnt explored yet because:
1. the users of the byakugan are almost enslave of taijutsu or close quarter combat.
2. the visual prowess doesnt involve hatred or emotions as a part of strengthening oneself, thus the users of such visual prowess are far likely to get obsessed with power nor has need to explore its abilities.
if a certain person does have motives and has thirst of such power, maybe they have to rely either cunning or creative methods to do so. which is more of a hassle but has more potential than the sharingan and the rinnegan.
As i said that it may have more potential because (kishimoto) and the visual prowess isnt really fully explored.
the rinnegan has hacks ability like reviving the dead, gravititional manipulation and etc. the byakugan has ridiculous fucking eyesight range, vision range and can see through any solid materials.
like if you have earth style jutsu a technique that can lift the ground in a form of spike you can basically kill someone in their sleep across the map or across the seven sees.
the possibilities are endless here more examples.

imagine you just having toothbrush, cleaning your teeth and suddenly your strangled to your death
its hacks i think dropping metoers, susano, blaze release and etc. etc is cool but i would prefer the byakugan if god gave me a choice right now yeah byakugan is my go to.
but the downside to have such feats require alot of chakra like alot of it.

I also thought that if the Byakugan can extend Genjutsu, thanks to the 10km 360° vision. Maybe it can redirect ninjutsu as well, like the force from Star Wars.
For example a shinobi launches a "Fire Style: Fire Ball" just when it's about to enter Nejis range, he condenses his 360° sight, to stop and redirect incoming fire.
Also Hinata's twin lion fist can move anywhere within the 10km, can absorb, bite down or flat out control a person's chakara points. Then its gameover.
I mean you can strike pressure points yet, you can't control someone from the inside?

Although underwhelming, the Byakugan is very devastating. Allowing for the user to destroy chakra points at long distances (Air Palm), and repel any ninjutsu based attack (Heavenly Palm Rotation). In theory, multiple air palms should be able destroy a full body Susanoo given that the Susanoo is like ....completely fashioned out of chakra.

I believe he meant that the Byakugan can extend the users genjutsu, not someone else's. Although, I feel like something could work out when used in conjunction with someone from the Yamanaka clan. Kind of like what happens when Ino and Shikamaru combine their techniques or whatever.

I think you misunderstood what I meant you see in one of the source books Kishimoto said that if an Uchiha and a Hyuga had kids the child would have one Sharingan and one Byakugan. what I was saying is that if someone had both they could extend the Sharingans Jutsu to insane ranges.

Even after all these years I would still prefer to have a Byakugan. It's simple, it's useful and it doesn't require you to commit mass murder just to unlock it's full abilities. Plus the gentle fist style is pretty cool.

I know I’m late But I remember seeing a video about the byakugan where Members were given a seal/curse To were if they die they lose the byakugun so It cannot be transferred but I have a theory that it also nurfed it so that the clan wouldn’t find out about the “next evolutions”of it that like the sharingan required you to kill family. Keeping the clan stronger together rather that having a few strong members and a lot of dead ones

Byaukugan is still superior to sharingan in my opinion, keep in mind sasuke is literally the most powerful sharingan user of all time. Base sharingan is no match for byaukugan, mangekyo is limited by how much you can use it vs the damage it does to ones eye, and eternal mongekyo has only been done by madara and sasuke and there isn't many shinobi in general that are a match for those 2.
To the base Sharingan, sure. The Mangekyou, not so much. Itachi awakened it when he was 13 and he didn't go blind until he was 21. Obito and Kakashi also never went blind despite neither of them having EMS.

Well konoha was made of many clans especially senju uchiha and hyuga
Most of the hidden villages have a at least 1 kekke genkai user and there are a few more weaker dojutsu and Bee of the hidden cloud and samurai.
the mist also had the ice kekke that haku used . most of the other villages have lava style user among them. Suigetsu's clan had that water body kekke genkai i think . but yeah they have plenty of kekke genkai in the other villages. oh and explosion style in the stone

The byakugon is as powerful as its user and you can create a shit load of jutsu to help the byakugon. And the same goes for the tenseigon 😃 . It may be underrated but never underestimate it. I bet if neji trained as hard as Naruto and sasuke did and unlocked the tenseigon, he could rival sasuke and naruto. But he died so I guess boruto will get the byakugon and tenseigon and his power will rival naruto and sasuke.
You cannot unlock the Tenseigan by training(could be possible), it can be unlocked by transplant. Neji was a freaking genius and had a very special Byakugan that could the Tenketsus or something within the body allowing him to hit the joints of the body along with pressure points so he could actually kill his opponent, he was also able to go up against one of the most op character within the original naruto series which was Kimomora and he won. He was so op because was a genius enough to figure Neji's weakness the blindspot and i find it funny how Neji was able to use that against him in order to win the battle. Also let's not forget the gentle fist kills the opponent regardless of how powerful they are unless they have ridiculous regenerative abilities. I'm definitely gonna do several videos on this topic i dont like half assed discussions and downplays

dude...rotation has nothing to do with the byakugan...hyugas can use it because they have perfect chakra control (full control of every chakra point in the body) and when you talk about the byakugan you cant say it is underwhelming because u also have to put in the gentle fist...and because of that gentle fist the byakugan has the potential to be the most powerful eye because it is as kakashi and guy said "the hyugas can beat even the strongest ninjas because nobody can his chakrasystem and organs" so a few hits from the gentle fist and it doestn matter if its sasuke or madara or even kaguya...if the gentle fist lands you are down after a little amount of time....(hyuga with tenseigan is also possible and neji would have been godlike with this but kishimoto fucked the story up so thats kinda shit)

Okay they can win, but that doesn't mean they will. Just because they have the Gentle Fist means they'll always win, sure everyone is vulnerable, but some ninja would just kill them before they even get close. Sasuke for example can just put up a wall of Amaterasu using Blaze Release and then there's nothing more they can do to touch him. The Hyuga are OP, but the Uchiha are just really hax OP.
I agree with you but you cant say that one gentle fist can beat kaguya or even Hamura/Hagoromo. They are like gods and cant be defeated so ez. Besides kaguya and her sons got an immense amount of chakra wich cant be stopped by hitting chakra Points. They just like regenerate them in a sec. The Uchiha are not "hax op", heck they're not even op at all. The average uchiha would at best only unlock a 3-tomoe sharingan, and getting an MS is hard. If they were as strong as they seemed to be, Itachi and Obito wouldn't have been able to slaughter them. The Hyuga, and the Byakugan in general just felt underwhelming because of all the geniuses of the Uchiha (i.e Itachi, Madara, Obito, etc.), but in reality, they're really strong. The only Hyuga prodigy and genius we've seen so far is Neji, imagine if we got to saw more.

The latest episode of boruto(episode 8) has really explained the byakugan and has made the video a bit outdated. Not all the Hyuga clan has the byakugan, not all can awaken it and not all can master it. It also requires intense training to awaken it.
Maybe it's just too difficult to master it in respect to the sharingan that's why we think the sharingan is powerful than the byakugan

+dry bones Munchakoopas anime filler isnt really canon to the anime. for example, there was a naruto shippuden filler where indra otsutsuki had the same mangekyou sharingan as sasuke. but in a canon scene where hagoromo was explaining the past to naruto, indra is shown with his correct mangekyou sharingan.

well, later in Boruto it is shown that you have to go through intense training to activate the byakugan, but the white eye trait is simply to show that you can activate it. And Himawari apparently is a genius who unlocked it as a kid so Kaguya (God*) knows what kinda abilities she will unlock with training and getting older, maybe there's some kind of special form of byakugan when you mix an uzumaki with a hyuga

this video needs an updated version the byakugan since the video was uploaded has gotten a bit more depth like how hisashi said that not everyone in the clan can awaken it, or how the byakugan is the base for the tenseigan and jougan, or how himawari who’s half hyuga can awaken the byakugan and see color when activates it
In the more recent boruto episodes, naruto reveals that the byakugan is only awakened through intense training. I think although everyone in the hyuga clan has the 'white eye' the byakugan is only activated through training which every hyuga clan member probbably goes through before graduating the academy even. Like all cases, there are some exceptions like narutos daughter himmawari (sorry for the wrong spelling) and the genius Neji.

Is it true that if a Hyuga trains his Byakugan extremely well, he can read a person's mind, block attempts of mind-reading (and possibly the techniques of the Yamanaka Clan), and completely repel the effects of any Genjutsu? Or are those abilities specific to Kaguya's and Hamura's Byakugans?
super disappointed in how the show just completely looked over the byakugan. Its amazing. This visual justsu can see through pretty much all genjustsu (except the infinite tsukyuomi) Should I point out that the sharingan actually uses genjustsu significantly? And one major advantage of the byakugan is that it can be used nearly indefinately whereas the sharingan uses up so much chakra you need alot of rest time and you may even go blind. The byuakugan could be so awesome and it will remain my favourite of all time. I mean, they can slow down attacks in their mind and move at like the speed of light cause THEY SEE EVERYTHING!
