Rodrigo broke the deadlock in the 14th minute with a composed finish from 20 yards before Julian Alvarez doubled our advantage just after the hour mark.
Phil Foden and second-half substitute Oscar Bobb had a key hand in Alvarez's goal, linking up beautifully for the Argentinian to tap home.
The pair both forged chances of their own in the closing stages but it wasn't to be.
Our dominance was illustrated by the whopping 938 passes completed - the second most ever recorded in the Premier League only behind our total of 942 against Swansea City in 2018.
The win completes an unbeaten 2023 at the Etihad Stadium for City, winning 25 of our 28 home matches this year.
It also set the seal on an unforgettable 12 months, with the Club becoming the first English team ever to simultaneously hold the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The way Alvarez is scoring and assisting anytime Haaland isn't on the pitch shows you that Haaland is replaceable. Rodri & KDB are hard to replace most especially Rodri!

He just doesn't have the height, speed and strength of Haaland, plus I feel he's more of a CAM player like Foden.
They can score, but they're great at passing and crossing into the box, rather than being target men/strikers for goals.
Sure, he's a great player, a world Cup winner, and good at shooting the ball, but he just doesn't get the chances that Haaland gets because they don't play the same way..
Haaland is the 2nd best striker in the world currently for a reason, he has excellent positioning and can get ahead of defender's in a split second to score. He's great in aerial battles and shields the ball really well! Alverez is just not as adept to the centre forward/solo striker role as Haaland. His attributes are just not as good, but he's still good. Haaland is just better.

Foden and Alvarez has developed quite a connection. They know each other's movements so well and are anticipating it perfectly. Pep should not let the return of KDB disturb this bond. the trio silva foden and alvarez has been excellent
KDB is a star though. One of, if not, the best players in City.
Foden and Alvarez are at the same speed too, they are fast and also aggressive, they are tenacious, the opponents kick them, and they come back, they have courage, they work hard, they put pressure and yet they continue forward with the same intensity no matter what happens, even when things don't work out. I'm amazed with this duo
