Mani thought that was a bit much. Should have said something more subtle like "better beehave yourself from now on"
I actually enjoyed this movie because I went into the theater expecting it to be a low/mid-budget semi-generic action film, because the lead actor exclusively is hired for those flicks. Also, the premise isn’t exactly an original one. I see how you came to this logical conclusion as a sting at Hunter Biden, but it didn’t appear to me that it was anything outside of an anti-corruption action movie. I got what I expected, so was content, but this was an excellent video explaining why you might disagree, and that’s ok

Tried seeing what would happen if i unchecked the notify subscribers button to see how that would effecr inital performance. Turns out, poorly. But ya live and ya learn
John wick 1 I think proved that well shot, well thought action is just as good as a good plot. If you think about it John Wick barley has a plot but it doesnt feel like it because each actipn sequence *feels* like plot progression because they treat the action as plot. All the movies have minimal and arguably poor plot at times but by constantly changing up the fighting the stakes, what wick has to use to survive each encounter youre so invested in the action sequences you dont care. Very interesting.
Exactly! The action scenes "tell a story" that progresses and is satisfying, so its ok if the actual narrative is bare bones. It's the same appeal in some ways or watching an old Disney short. The story is just set up to watch beautiful animation, and if you deliver on what people came for I think that makes a film good

But im quite impressed that even with view in the game you can see the same opinion from a different angle.
I think youre excellent at breaking down narratives and film making techniques and that skill makes you even better. Definitley earned a sub from me. Wish I could nerd put over how good and bad films work with someone like you as someone whose spent some time in the industry as an actress professionally(nothing big yet just some extras work and the like, small fry) and a short film maker behind the camera. XD

It's a bizarre film. I believe the technical term is utter shite....although not to be confused with extremely entertaining utter shite like Meg2 ( which is kind of brilliant )
When I saw the trailer for this in theaters, I was genuinely interested... at first. A guy coming from an average background avenging someone who got scammed to literal death. And then when the trailer said "The beekeepers are an elite government mission" or whatever I immediately lost interest. Honestly its why I hate action movies. Please I just want a normal dude not the impossible white man trope.
If i would do something like that, I would made whole plot in other way.
I mean only scam for campain is rather low key. I would add some i dont know russian or China or india inferetion in it, it also adds another evil character or just some bussinesmen character.
For reason, better would be to show that the place where MC is living is slowly turning really bad, like stealing, drug dealing, poeple lost theid jobs etc. To showcase that something is wrong, You could use some clipse from blm violence etc.
And rather than just being robbed I would make this side character as some jornalist or small town politision, (You know the type of person who cares about everyone etc.) and the that charater would have suised made by someone else, becouse as in other movies like this found out. Meybe I would go in way where MC gets acused for doing it or something.
Either way, MC begins his investigetion, and what he found is terefing, most oficals are corrupted, the bosses of big gangs are in chitchat with politics, they pay for their campain, also You could use some plot of big comoanese and CSI etc. Like gangs are only partly interested in small bisnes, You know something like working with CSI, Goverment and armor industry to make wars cause all of them will get rich of it.
And I would not take the son of president as the main villan, cause it would be better to show him as some bastard who grow big cause his father is important, and he is rather the kid that everyone has to clean his shit.
And as for actions I would go for 2 or 3 parts, first is where he would make his investigetions like some spy or ninja, 2nd for trying make public what he discover, but ofcourse he would end up being tramped by the system, maybe make so of his coworkers get killed.
And 3 part MC would try to take out the corupted ones.
As for this parts they rather wouldnt be the same time.
In this way we show corrupted elits, system etc.
But also justify the violenc.
