Not only was Thatcher in power - Hislop voted for her!
Really?? Prove it.
@@joeegg90 What do you mean "prove it." He says he is a "small C Conservative" himself. Or is this a "were you in the booth with him" question!!!!
No he didn't. Ian has always supported candidates based on rational policies and open social attitudes, not party allegiance. He's equally skeptical of _all_ of them and votes based on each individual election rather than through any party loyalty. The raison d’être of his two main gigs - HIGNFY and Private Eye - is to knock bullies off their perch, expose idiocy, corruption and moral weakness.
@@peterh1353 _conservative with a small c_ does not mean what you think it means. It means *against radical change.* Margaret Thatcher, while Conservative, was vehemnetly not _conservative_ - as she was all *for* radical change.
@@221b-Maker-Street He said he is a Tory and votes Tory. Whether he actually believes in who he is voting for or whether they are left of right of him is anyone's guess.
