Everyone has that one song, that no matter what, puts you in a better mood. 26 year old song and it still makes me dance in my kitchen no mater what crap is happening in my life.
Just a casual fan of these guys. They came along a few years after my college years. But I understand the love for em. And seeing vids of their live stuff is fantastic. (I’m sure the folks who were in college here are more like me now, wondering where the years have went) Anyway I luv this song and luv even more watching diff live versions of it. God bless, and hope their spirit and this kind of thing never dies. Last thing, these guys are amazing but I’m sure they’d tell ya these moments of bliss and luv aren’t possible w/o the luv and passion of their fans.
You have to see a show there at least once in your life. It's an indescribable experience! I'm very fortunate to live about a half hour away, but don't get there as often as I should. O.A.R. will be there again in June of 2025!
Discovered this song when I got my brothers old iPod nano when I was about nine years old and it still had all of his songs on it brings back memories of camping in the summer with the family and brings back a time before the problems of adulthood
When I was in second grade I had homework and we had to make sentences with adverbs and adjectives and and the last question was to make a sentence with our own adjective or adverb so I picked crazy then my sentence I put "that was a crazy game of poker I lost it all, but someday I'll be back again and I'm never to fall." And then my mom put it on Facebook and the sax player reached out to us and said that he thought that was funny and amazing.
My high school girlfriend, her sister, her sister's boyfriend, and I drove to Rochester id like to say in 2005 or 2006 and saw them play at The Main Street Armory and it was fuckingggg amazinggggg! I'll never forget it and never forget the ones we love but let get away!!!!
I’m will be 42 this year, you are fine don’t worry. Run a few miles every other day and you will feel better than young. Dam it I wish I could have been there at red rocks. I’ve been to the amphitheater during closed season. Dope spot
2 things. 1. I don’t know how anyone can give this a thumbs down, without a doubt their best song, and it’s an awesome jam. They look like they’re having a blast. 2. Chris Culos is such an underrated drummer, he’s awesome.
I grew up listening to Rancid, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Less than Jake and other Ska bands and when they pick up the tempo at the beginning they make me want to skank in pit just like all the Ska bands! They are an unbelievably awesome band!
Just got introduced to this group by a co-worker. Can't believe I have never heard of them. (Disclaimer: I am an old guy rocker and jam to classic rock!). Always enjoy jamming to new groups and this is one I will be firing up to max volume for years to come!!! Rock on O.A.R., Rock On!!
@@trumphatesyou I'm thinking that was around like late 2009? I had just gotten out of a horrible divorce and it was so nice to be there with my date, didn't last but that's besides the point and watching the fireworks I felt so free. It was just a really great memory plus I was starting my job at the hospital so all around a good time
@@agent_ninety9 yep it was. August 8, 2009. Amazing save by the other band member to fill in. Seeing them again with Dave Mathews in Ocean City, MD in late Sept.
They are simply amazing!! 3 times seen them live at Red Rocks - the energy and the passion of the music - the fans who adore them is simply magical!!!! Been a fan for over 14 years!!
Shame on youtube for intruding songs with ads. I was watching a documentary two days ago and they interrupted with three ads before I hit 2 minutes in. I was about to throw my phone at the wall. Then I cooled off and said fuck UA-cam, I'll just not use it. But here I am again listening to songs that bring me back 2O years or more.
When was this? I saw them there in September 2015 and it was the best concert of my life!!! This could easily have been that performance. I still have cards from it that were thrown during this song! I was in the second row and it was raining playing cards ***adding*** This isn’t the 2015 show, but just as fantastic 💕💕💕 My friend and I met them backstage, and they are really nice, Benji was super sweet and after he kind of broke the ice during the meet and greet, everyone had genuine smiles, laughed, and it was a wonderful experience. I first heard them at my brother’s funeral. His name was James and his friends played the song ‘James’, and it was so perfect because he had small cell lung cancer. The lyric”breathe, breathe deep for me, James,” is frighteningly prescient; so apt, so perfect. That was the start of what has now been almost 20 years of OAR being part of the soundtrack of my life. They helped me as I grieved, and they became the background music of my life, sung by my babies in the car, or as the first concert I got to go to in several years during a rare mom night out. The 2015 show was 3 days before I had my first dose of chemo for my own cancer, and Marc’s wife, also a cancer survivor, was backstage that night. It seemed very fitting. Everything was so right, and I’m so grateful that I bought those tickets before knowing I would go through any of that. It put me in the right frame of mind. I’ve always loved OAR for the joy they put into the world.
I've listened to them since they started at OSU and played locally. I didn't give it a thumbs down....but the original album version kills this more pop version.
@@trumphatesyou Listen to the original. The guitar solo, extra instruments definitely take away from what made the song great. The simplistic original is what made the song special.
Late 90s and early 00s nostalgia. Amazing song. Thinking back to a simpler time

Who puts a commercial in the middle of a great song? Malarkey.
The capitalist pigs at Gooogle
Yea I fckin hate that!
People with tiny hats.
I didn't get one. It downgrades your malarkey to shenanigans
I finally had to subscribe to Premium to get rid of ads...it's about $12/mo. Worth it if you watch a lot of UA-cam (in my opinion).
Holy s*** I miss shows like that
Is there anything else like this in the whole world
Red rock concerts are amazing I live in Vegas but I have not been even though it is so close but I have heard of them

The band bouncing in the back is everything. Almost missed this concert but so glad I made it!! We were definitely in the back going hard 😂😂😂

They always stopped in Rochester, great music fan city
OAR is my absolute favorite band. I'm an old dried up 43 yr old and they make me feel young.
I’m right there with you (42 though :)) I went to THE with them. Saw them play in a back yard at a house party before anyone knew who they were!
Rock on brother! We are only as old as we feel!!!

My top 3 favorite jukebox songs ever.

But make that money. We all love you.

Lemme guess, you like Motley C and Def L? Guns N’ Roses? Stuff like that? I do too
You put an ad in the middle of a song??? what the abosulute FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Love bands that aren't afraid to play songs for more than 3 mins...
I love a great frontman. He's got it.
I remember watching these guys open for Red Wanting Blue like 20 or more years ago and they're still playing the same fucking songs.
So clearly they should get an endorsement from Bicycle or Maverick playing cards... 2:13

How bout a revolution?

Poker? I barely even know her. You poker, you brought her.
Call me old (48) but nothing beats the original album version 20+ years ago. When it was about the love of the music and not about the performance.
Usally the horns ruin live music at red rocks.. see big gigantic or the disco biscuits. This is nice though
About half of OAR's songs just ain't right w/o that SAX...
A commercial in the middle of a song. Never again
Just use the Brave Browser
bro looks stooooooned
No offense.. but their element is a dirty little bar in the Midwest. Specifically Ohio.
Booooooooooo
