i think she bought it, not rent it. that's why it's so expensive. apartments in korea, especially in seoul, is very expensive. even thought it's small, i think other things like security, parking lot and such costs more money too

You learn a lot of things living alone. I can say I grew and matured tons living by myself compared to the 31 years I spent living with my parents. They hated the idea and I think every asian family should normalize giving their adult children independence.

Ppl stalk you and follow you home and then what? Too many monthly reports of kidnappings and killings of single women that live alone. All over the world. Ppl think the answer is videos of women having to put male shoes at the door to pretend not to be alone to keep weirdos away. The weirdos are seeing the same videos, they know it's fake. Safety always comes first. Living with your family doesn't define "independence" your capabilities and responsibilities do. Security cameras can only film your attack, it doesn't stop them and you probably can't afford to pay body guards like a celebrity right? *#2* Unnecessary expenses of paying additional rent, bills, etc. that could be invested into something smart and beneficial for everyone. And what about our aging parents' health? If you and your family want to live in a larger home and they give you an entire floor as a suite with a private entrance/exit for yourself that makes more sense. You can have your own furniture and decorations so you express yourself and you can have guests over without disturbing anyone, yet you are safe and you are near your parents in case they ever need you too. Other cultures force their kids out of the home at 18 and it caused nothing but debt and stress. Independence doesn't have to come with struggle or danger. The idea that you can't be independent among family is false just to break up homes.
I understand wanting more ownership but I've never lived alone and I don't intend to if I don't have to. Independence = I keep a roof over my own head, feed myself, clothe myself, fund my transportation and fund my lifestyle. I make my own decisions. When your parents depend on you...you have become independent. We don't have to leave home to be adults.
