What do you mean by resident DJs were weak fences? The great Crutches and Puddy Lion were two of the wickedest DJs when it came to hardcore rub-ah-dub back in the 70’s. Hugo Brown came through in the early 80’s and nice it up. Arrows Hi-Fi is the greatest sound ever.

That’s how dubplate specials came about. But if you want to know how wicked the great Crutches was, do your research on the Arrows Hi-Fi vs Tippertone clash in 1974 in Hermitage, August Town. Crutches up against the hitmaker Big Youth, who had about 5 tunes in the top 10 at the time. Check the history before you start talking. Arrows Hi-Fi with Crutches and Puddy Lion were simply the best.
