using the machine is preferred for a better result, but works pretty well by hand as well. the benefit is the acrylic layer it adds as you mentioned so you got a good base for the protection to adhere to.

So....Turtle Wax....r u LISTENING????....u need to REBRAND your higher end hybrid products. Think of of how Toyota....went to the Lexus premium brand, and how successful BOTH BRANDS are....eliminate annnnny stigma people have with the name Turtle Wax from years ago.....your faithful customers, and...potential new customers of the hybrid line sitting on the fence about purchasing something from Turtle Wax deserve a premium new name, new branding!
I have been a huge fan of the new hybrid line of TW products....and I am old enuff to remember Turtle Wax making affordable, yet non-remarkable wax products years ago...which I used and was disappointed with. This hybrid line is affordable and not only is a premium product and competes with the high end brands, it offers more value Imo....often BEATING the expensive brands in performance and ease of application and less required buffing to get an excellent shine. I was such a big fan initially of the hybrid ceramic spray wax, my friend gifted me the entire line of products...premium branding, make it happen Turtle Wax!

I wonder how long it will last to the elements? Seems like a great product for renewing a old black paint job. Like you said it can fill and old paints, that's what they need. I run a body shop and I don't need a product that fills on a new paint job, but when I have one come in that could be paint corrected and save the customer from painting it, this product would help. Awesome video

Kind of like a golf bag with several options, sometimes you pull out the big driver others...on old clear or budget wise you want a good result with a minimum budget or limited time. I’ve had some good results with the TW hybrid solutions products, I’ll try this too.

I jumped on the turtle wax band wagon a couple years ago with the seal and shine! My new way of taking care of my personal vehicles are to wash/clay, decon, I use a better compound like sonax or whatever I have around that I ordered online, then I like the regular TW ceramic polish which works nicely on most colors and finishes down nice and I finish off with either TW ceramic spray or seal and shine, followed by one last trip around with griots speed shine as it gets any last residue and leaves a great deep shine! I would like to try some 3D one or some other 1 steps for times the car doesn’t need a compound but ever vehicle I’ve done always needs a compound first

My daughter and I follow your channel and used your advice on her 2005 equinox that was in bad shape. (Black Equinox) and it was our first time doing a paint correction and I must say it turned out GREAT! A bit of a hit in the wallet at first but it was worth it.
Had 3 estimates 2 from auto paint just to clear coat and 1from a detail shop . Clear coat was $2200 cheapest and detail shop wanted $1100 to fix it. FARTHER/DAUGHTER TIME PRICELESS!
    Thank you.
If you have a chance can you answer a question or 2?
1- the black is easy to scratch or scuff . Is there something that I can do to make it not so easy? Wax,coating etc..
2- the what looks like a sand blasting cabinet, what are you using for your media to clean your pads?

Thanks for your continued terrific reviews, tips and advice, great channel! My 1986 Buick has original black lacquer paint (except a couple repainted panels due to mishaps) and was wet sanded (before I got it) making it thin. This Turtle Wax Black Ceramic Acrylic polish and partner ceramic black wax seems like a perfect, gentile "polisher, enhancer and preserver" to polish and hide imperfections for my situation. Lots of swirls and a couple edges that show primer the paint is so thin. Many years of my ignorance (California duster) and probably misapplied products using old towels have left it in need of help. The car is only garaged and shown, driven no more than 1000 miles/yr. Many people still comment at shows on how great the paint looks since the finish is sanded so flat and if there's a little shade...even better! Would you agree this is a perfect modern choice to care for this paint?

Anthony, I haven't tried this new Hybrid Solutions "acrylic black" version, but I have used the non-black "Ceramic Polish & Wax" on a friend's car. I would assume they work the same way. My friend's clear coat was pretty hard and had quite a few deeper defects. I tried the Ceramic Polish & Wax using orange foam cutting pads, and it barely made a dent. I ended up using a heavier compound and microfiber cutting pads, then went over the whole car using the Ceramic Polish & Wax on green foam polishing pads. That did the trick! This made a great finishing polish! I let it cure for 24hrs then applied the Hybrid Solutions "Ceramic Spray Coating". The car looked great and was super-glossy.

Anthony Whavers my question exactly. It seems I would do a “regular” polish w/out tint and then use this as the final step. Just not sure if that too much polishing. If I were to use it as final step, then use a ultra fine pad on polisher?

Back when when I had my 2007 Ram and it was black. Turtle Wax had a black box kit and they had all the products separated individually. I bought the black spray wax. The car wash booth I was using self serve coin op. I decided to use the spray wax afterwards. I kept spraying onto an applicator as I was applying. Well I didn't notice until after a bit I was painting their walls black, some of the pigment is still there. I traded that truck off in 2012.

I don't know about anyone else but when I buy products that claim longevity I'm always skeptical. Then I see your ten wash test and wonder if I'm doing something wrong by towel drying my vehicles after every wash (which you don't do). I am certain that towel drying removes the product a lot faster. Products that claim 6mnths protection usually only last 2 weeks on my vehicles.

Surprised the black pigment came out as well as it did on the light colored orange pad. I was nervous to use my orange and white pads with TW black products. I don't like how (percieved) dirty it makes my pads looks even when new. Had I not already had a 50/50 euro fiber with a tight black/white weave in my pad selection to use I would have used a normal black applicator pad. Why can't a company make a series of stepped dark car specific pads that are totally black but matching the common orange, white, and black pad corrections steps? I would recommend the velcro backer can be correction color specific or even simply black velvro backer with white letters identifying the pad correction step use. Call it the Darksider Collection!

Two questions... For hand polishing would you suggest microfiber over terry cloth or vice versa and why?
Second question, if I use the acrylic Polish and wax but also want to use the acrylic ceramic coating can I use them together? I know typically you would use a paint prep after polishing a car to remove any residue before applying a ceramic coating but that seems silly to use the Polish and wax just to strip it right off. Since both products are in the hybrid solutions line designed for black paint it seems like they are made to be used together. Thanks

It’ll be nice to have the same pad as you showed, but Turtle Wax doesn’t have the kit anymore (can’t get the Polish and Wax, and pad in a kit). I have the whole set of Hybrid Solutions products, but had to get a separate pad from Amazon for the Black polish. And what was the brand of machine?

What’s the current best value/performance/quality dual action ? I saw a new battery operated random orbit orbital from Walmart’s new tool brand but it looked like a old school rotary not a dual action. A little confused by that

How many pads would I use if using a machine? Any recommendations on what type of pads I would use if using a Rupes polisher?

Brian, I would like to see the sanded panel test with this product. Do you think the microfiber or Uro 50/50 pads would perform well with this product?

David Leitch the Urofiber pads are a great teammate on harder clear👍

Hey Brian I just recently asked turtle wax about the cure time and topping this product with their black ceramic wax spray. They told me you could follow up and use the spray wax right after the polish without waiting. Seemed odd not waiting the 24 hours it says on the bottle.

JJC227 you can... but if it possible to wait the full 24 hr. I would.

So besides the black dye, this is the same as the ceramic polish and wax (red label)? I have a black car and like to try but it's out of stock everywhere. Even their own site.

Hey Brian, love the vids! I have a 04 mustang that is black and has lots of miles on it. The paint is checkered in spots and i think the clearcoat might be on its last leg. As a beginner I am nervous about polishing especially on this car. Would you recommend this product? -Alex

Alex Crawford yes. Do a small test area first to team it up with the right pad.

It sounded like this was a glaze. I never thought about filling minor defects to preserve clear coat..I agree I kinda thought it was taboo, like you are too lazy to get them out.
