This gold warrior pendant which I made and filmed this week from my London studio. This piece took me 5 days to make and I used 18k gold, diamonds and sapphires.

I love watching you work! So fascinating to see what goes into making a piece of jewelry like this. How did you learn your skills? Are there apprenticeships for jewelry making?
I did a five year apprenticeship after doing a one year course in fine jewellery making at university. I do have a video which I believe is called how I become a jeweller. This goes into more detail. Hope that help.

dumb question but when you're done do you sweep up all the gold shavings and put them in a jar or something to melt them down and use them again

Great video, just a point of curiosity, why not use an electric rolling mill?
I have more control with the handle but it is up to anyone’s preference what tool they use.

That tool is called a center punch or auto center punch! I would describe it but this article from Durable Tech can articulate it better than I:
"A spring-loaded center punch stores energy in a spring, and as compressed it is triggered and releases the spring-stored-energy as an impulse that drives the punch into the work surface, producing the dimple, character, or symbol."
