A cool detail in GTA San Andreas was the fact that you could make Grove members take pictures of you.
Also if you aim the camera at your gang members, CJ will tell them to smile. And they will throw gang signs at the camera.

That was in the mission "Saint Mark's Bistro" when he returns to LV airport. I believe that's the only time he requests clearance to land as it is a scripted part of the mission. Flight CJ101

I wish the cops still gave the Good citizen bonus because if you tried that in Gta 4 and 5, the cops still go after you instead.

It's funny how older games had some insane details that newer games have either forgotten or don't give as much attention to detail anymore
I think the trouble is time and more of a focus on shiny graphics in modern games although plenty do still have some little details (Hitman games come to mind) it does seem to be a bit of a dying art
Man, it's really a shame how back then GTA was clearly a product of passion and now it has shifted to become a commercialized milk cow.
But even worse than that is the fact that even with this fact the modern GTA and RDR series still remain the most detailled games.
And it's a shame since that means all other game franchises are way ways worse off.

#11 @6:47 is actually a real phenomenon that happens. It's not ghost ships. It's a effect called FATA MORGANA...
This happens when a ship/boat travels a certain distance but is still visible... pretty sure it's due to the curvature of the earth and waves in the ocean.
Not a detail but how people walk in gta games has improved alot.
Everything after San Andreas prioritised graphic Improvement and sacrificed immersion.

Vice City had the best depiction of time and the best feeling of nostolgia. References like Miami Vice, Scarface, 80's songs, the rivalries of different organized crime, the weather and how the lights are vibrant at night, how you could just walk into a gun store and be out with one is more realistic than "guns and ammo" in GTA 5. It would be funny if there was a time period in GTA 5 where you had to wait to get it by shipment, or certain guns were not sold in stores because of laws. So when rumor has it that there is a mini gun, you have to break into a military arsenal to actually equip it making it more rewarding. I also miss the "3 classes of weaponry" you could do my entering a cheat code. What I loved about the 3D universe was it felt united. It felt like Claude, Tommy and CJ were a trinity. Not only that but references of James Earl Cash from Manhunt are in the 3D universes. Like everyone is somewhere in the 3D world even if they don't appear in the storyline.

I always loved the unpredictable bypassers. It gave the game a much more spontanious and realistic feeling.
And it made it way more funny since you didn't know what reaction to expect.
In San Andreas, if you take a selfie as CJ with Grove St members standing behind him, they will stop and pose and throw up gang signs. Like they should do.
Being a bus driver was basically the first and only thing I ever did in Vice City.
Kids if you haven’t played the older GTA trust me it’s a lot of fun and the missions are really cool and goofy at the same time and yes some are annoying but it’s mostly fun and it was a huge part of many of our childhoods
In Chinatown Wars the minigame changes if you drive a tank in the water. You'll have to open the door thing

What's cool In GTA San Andreas, If CJ blocks a pedestrian from walking. The pedestrian will shoot, fight you or run away. Also pedestrian's will comment on how CJ's dress's or skinny, fat or buffed up.

You forgot in Chinatown Wars (CW, or CTW):
To open a locked car, you have to unlock the car REALISTICLY.
Sometimes you have to use screwdriver to rotate the key hole.
Also you can screw out 4 screws to open the engine wires.
And in some cars, player will connect his PDA, enter the code and the engine will turn on!
There's also a green meter- if you too slow turning on the engine, the car alarm will ring!
One that was left out was that in GTA3 pedestrians will randomly car jack you. Thought that was pretty dope

Cyberpunk is a good game and all. But something tells me that the developers did not put a lot of effort in making the game.
@@Gunner98 it's quite difficult just making a mobile game, I believe they did put in as much effort as they could but the way the development was managed made all of that go to waste.
If the game was released as it was but on early access people wouldn't have been as upset.
In GTA 2, you could also pick up passengers with the bus and taxi. But there are no side missions for those. They randomly get on and off.

If you shoot the tanks cannon backwards it can propel you faster
if you use the change character cheat and get to the beats man the music will always be playing
You can store more vehicles in the garage if you beat the door before it closes
on escort missions you can essentially always have those characters tag along if you dont complete the mission

I didn't know about the stamina thing in vice city, but I'm pretty sure in at least vice city and 3, you could run unlimited and pretty fast too by just tapping x repeatedly instead of the way the game taught you by holding x. It's kind of funny that now in V they changed the running to tapping.
I'm amazed I didn't notice the vice city things like not being able to do a wheely facing north. I poured so many hours into that game

I don't think I have ever seen a bigger jump than the leap from Vice City to San Andreas. I still hold that San Andreas (compared to the time of release) is the most technically impressive game in the series.

One they missed, is the radio. It sounds more clearer, with more bass if you listen in the car vs a motorcycle.

I was a fan of GTA since the first one released on the PlayStation, I even bought the London expansion pack for the first GTA. I was in the 11th Grade when GTA III was released. I read every article that previewed the game on IGN multiple times. I remember walking a few miles to Target to buy this game and how excited I was knowing I was fInally going to play it. Even being a big fan of Shenmue before this released, I was blown away with this game.
And let's not forget about that INSANE WCTR talk radio with many cool talk shows, adds and top notch jingles. 2 HOURS OF CREATIVE TALKING. OMGGG. :C

I feel like modern games should take note of the games they made back then when it comes to attention to detail. It really makes the world that much more immersive imo.
Video games back then always felt like a passion project. Very few games feel that way now. They mostly feel like money grabs.
Rockstar had mentioned the gang signs before San Andreas came out, remember being a tiny bit disappointed seeing these blocks for hands! The whole getting your car towed and picking it up from GTA V was also meant to be in San Andreas.

San Andreas was the best game ever in it's day. If it got remade with fully modern gfx, it'd be insane.
Based on the silhouette shape the ghost ship is not a battleship but rather it appears to be a destroyer or frigate. Battle ships are longer and you’d been able to see the outline of the main guns.
Gta 1 & 2 were insane little details themselves in the world of videogames back in the days
I really loved in gta iv when it rained npcs will pull out umbrellas and you were able to pick up things on the floor and throw them.
One more little detail from GTA SA : You can use the recoil of the turret of the Tank to gain momentum and speed.

Another one is that if you pay close attention to the gang members they actually pass the beer bottle and blunt around to each other lol.
Idk if you guys have experienced this? But in San Andreas, I once took a boeing plane and flew as far as I could out to the ocean. The really big storm came and things got out of control and and the plane crashed. Not like normal crash. But the wind literally flip the plan and took it away.

Before my uncle passed away, he lived playing GTA3. One night, we're playing a session, when a hobo walks past Claude and says, "yep, I've been drinkin' again.". My uncle lost it. I spit my drink out. Good times.
The continuity between the games is also an awesome detail. For example Phil Cassidy blowing up is arm in Vice city and he's missing an arm in GTA III
Older GTA games had so much love and passion put into them
You know one thing about the old games is if you used cheats they had potential to wreck the game file if you saved. Also i remember buying 2 copys of gta vc because my first wrecked. Also with my cousins gta 3 and gta vc. And i remember this being common i dont remember if it was cause the game had many glitches or if was using cheats. We would go to the game store and they would even fix the scartches for us. But yeah i use to love the old gta so when they released the xbox versions they fixed the disc wrecking problems. So just remember things werent all sunshine and lollipops.

In all the classic GTAs, there are like hidden dialogues everywhere. The lines the chopper pilots talking to each other when you have three stars is actually big.
Rockstar North should release a new GTA game with ps2 graphics but with a world ten times more detailed and bigger than San Andreas. I wonder how much would fit within 50gb
The best details are that they have chronologically accurate content, they were finished and polished BEFORE the release and they had no microtransactions... Yes GTA Online, I'm looking at you >_>

Another great feature In San Andreas. You could recruit grove street gang members and they would get in the car, fight with you and follow you everywhere.

I used to love seeing the airplanes landing and taking off at gta 3 Airport , it blew my mind back then
Also love the drug dealing mini game from Chinatown wars , highly addictive , buy weed from one district and sell it at a higher price on other neighborhood where demand was higher at a higher price, but be careful and plan your escape prior to your dealing , you could face an undercover cop which it makes all the more exciting. They should implement this mini game on the next gta
3:12 in that game I opened the doors to see if he gets out of the car normally and even so the mini-game of breaking the glass appeared, which is not logical since the doors are open it is just a matter of getting out and ready
